Tommeh Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 What's so boring, countless polls have been put out on the internet over the past week and they all show Heskey is a distant 3rd choice in people's preferred player to partner Rooney. Oh that seals it then. The boring bit is that you mention your dislike for him on every single page.

Yeah fair enough have your opinion, but as Tommeh says its fu*king boring having to read it every other post you do atm.
dandannieldanok Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Yea but this is quite a big thing and it certainly isn't just a personal dislike. If I didn't think it was so important I wouldn't keep pressing it home but it is, we need goals and the bloke just ain't cutting it. It's a big talking point because the BBC reckon he's starting tomorrow night. Let's just hope Emile can score and shut me up for good.

True, but I, along with many others, thought Emile was probably our best player against USA, and now quite a few have swung in his favour. We'll see what happens.
Edmund Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 I'd love to see Defoe given a chance at some point. On his day the little man is lethal. I'd still start with Heskey and Rooney though. Just hope we use a bit more imagination this time round.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Emile Heskey will never score again for England. If he plays tomorrow I hope he bags.
Tilley Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 If he plays tomorrow I hope he bags. Oh, so do I but he won't.
Mikey Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Heskey wouldn't score against a 8 man Lichtenstein. Bet he would.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Trust Tilley to pick a well organised outfit in Lichtenstein as an example.
Legend_in_blue Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 Capello is becoming as predictable as Hollowhead.
purpleronnie Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 I can't believe people are critising capello, dont they think that the england team put out should be the likes of Algeria? If not, maybe they should finally admit our players aren't good enough.
Corky Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 Capello is becoming as predictable as Hollowhead. Don't you mean Pearson?
purpleronnie Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 I'm really looking forward to going to work monday, I said USA were through before the england match they definately are now, they'll beat Algeria no question. I though tlosing to the yanks would be bad but england not going through and the USA progressing will be 10 times worse!!!!
The Doctor Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 the defence doesn't really need changing for slovenia - stick in dawson for carragher. In the midfield and upfront however a serious reshuffle is in order - Get cole involved, he's the sort of player that could produce the moment of magic england need. James Johson Dawson Terry A.Cole centerLampard Barry Carrick center J.Cole Gerrard Rooney
dandannieldanok Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 James Johnson Dawson Upson A Cole Lennon Carrick Barry J Cole Crouch Defoe

If not, maybe they should finally admit our players aren't good enough. I think people are criticising both, and rightly so. The willy puller commentators were lumping all of the blame on Capello, but the players need to take a long hard look at themselves too. Especially Rooney after tonight.

The willy puller commentators were lumping all of the blame on Capello, but the players need to take a long hard look at themselves too. Especially Rooney after tonight. Agreed, Capello should take criticism for selections and substitutions and the like, but the players should be criticised for basic errors (miscontrolling the ball, inaccurate passing, not beating the first man at corners).
Tilley Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 Seeing as Capello will stick with 4-4-2. Heskey has to go, Crouch in. Lampard has to go, Joe Cole in. Carragher is suspended, Dawson in.
davieG Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 The question should be can it be fixed. As it seems to be psychological I don't think Capello has it in him to do so.
