best?

Even in a pile of shit one turd will look better structured, more streamlined for painless passing, more colourful, better consistency and smelling less than the othersbiggrin.gif

Best performer: Ashley Cole.

Because of Gerrard playing out of position and therefore naturally drifting inside, Ashley Cole had to work the left on his own and he did it great.

Worst performer: Wayne Rooney.

Supposed to be one of the best players in the world, put him on the big stage and he's done nothing. Maybe it is because he has had an injury, but he wasn't getting stuck in like he does at Manchester United. Something wrong with him.

Who's fault: The Manager,

I do agree that the media over hype everything - from Ashley Cole and John Terry to going over the top. Theres no need for the footballer's lives to be in the paper, its what they do on the pitch, not off it. Plus, they expect to much from Rooney and England. Technically, the manager has to be at fault - Gerrard on the left, taking an injury prone defender, leaving out a natural left winger and not changing the tactics.

Barry (although he too was gash second half, could have gone for either full-back), Rooney (closely ran by Lampard), went Other because I wanted to select all of them.

the only players who actually looked like they wanted to be there were heskey and james, the only one's who showed the faintest bit of commitment.

next best probably carragher and cole.

bad days, technically, johnson, lennon terry and gerrard

missing in action barry and lampard

embarrassment to the shirt rooney.

i know rooney is getting stick for what he said, but that is not why he was embarrassing, it was because he just didn't look like he wanted to be there, he didn't go for any 50/50s, just standing there waiting for the ball on a platter, and when he did get it his control was so poor it was laughable. that said, it is down to the manager to see this and change it, so how he laster 90 minutes i do not know.

The best peformance came from James... which suprised me a bit because I don't really rate him.

Worst performance was Rooney. It was like he was in his own little bubble floating 10 ft above the pitch with the faries.

The players just werent helping each other and werent really passing that well. It was like "Im not passing to you, I play for Liverpool and you play for Man U"...

heheh, yes, although the last 15 minutes of the first half we actually did look like a unit and played some nice football, unfortunately they came out in the 2nd half back to garbage again. which makes one ask questions over the effectiveness of capelo.

The game was bad enough but the commentary from Townsend and Tyldesley and interviews from Gabriel Clarke are by the worst things about yesterdays game.

Townsend is just a dick just which he would shut up and everytime Gabriel Clarke is on the screen it's cringeworthy

Correct. Thankfully the BBC have the last group game.
