Nigel Pearson is set to bolster his midfield with the signing of veteran Peruvian playmaker Nolberto Solano.

According to mirrorfootball.co.uk and cradlebay.co.uk, the former Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa midfielder looks set to join from Pearson’s old club Leicester City.

Pearson was officially unveiled as Hull's new manager on Tuesday after leaving fellow Championship outfit Leicester City.

What a load of shit. I know he's got his best days past him, but he was still class in the playoff semi's.

He's gone. The bit that interests me is the "Solano was offered a new six-month contract in May after impressing on a similar short-term contract last season and it was reported he had signed the deal. However, the Mercury understands the 35-year-old Peruvian did not sign and he has been invited by Pearson to join in pre-season training with the Tigers as a free agent". So the OS says he signed, but the Mercury reckons he didn't.

And the link on the OS has been removed.

Perhaps the new contract offer back then was from Hull

It's a shame if he does leave, he played well for us in the play-offs, and seemed to still have a decent cross in him, even if his legs were perhaps on the way out...

I'm guessing Pearson was the major draw--they've worked together at two clubs now, and they seem to have a good relationship going. Ah well, good luck to him if he goes

Does mean we'll need a Right-Back once more though. Morrison has looked alright there, but really he's better suited to Centre-Back methinks. Unless we have any Academy players that look ready for the role?

Yeah i think the club and sousa will look to bring someone in for that posistion the merc also thinks that as they mention nobby leaving.

There is no way Robbie Nielson is fit to play RB for us in my opinion and tbf i think Morrison should give the position another go once the Tunch is back there is no way Morrison will get into the CB positions, Hobbs is outstanding back there ;)

Tunch is not back and there is still no evidence that he will return as an effective player, hope very much that he does, but...:dunno:

So with Morrison and Hobbs in the center, time to step up Luke O'Neil...

Need some cover, obviously!
