dandannieldanok Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Not angry at all. Would have been more angry if he'd stayed having forced Mandaric to give him a huge wage and promises about big transfer budgets. Pearson did well for us but after all it was the 11 players on the pitch that got us to the play-offs, and that playing squad is still here. I'll be angry if we start flogging those players, otherwise this whole episode leaves me with a feeling of indifference. Mandaric knows how it all works now, he'll make the right appointment and we'll be fine.
Edmund Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 The timing of this is dreadful. With Pre season days away and no coaching staff we're in the shit. I'm guessing Rudkin, Stowell and Beaglehole will be left to pick up the pieces. A new manager wont have much time to get any new signings in unless he hires a scouting network who've been working proactively all summer. Players will need to gel to the manager and his way of playing. Anyway I'm so angry I might stick a rusty pole up my arse for pleasure.
Malinki Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 I'm not angry - you wouldn't like me when I'm angry....

Everyone assumes it's about more money but perhaps this is why he's reported to be going rather than claims for huge wages and big transfer budgets.

Babylon Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 I'm spitting, but not at Pearson, he obviously has good reason to be taking what is only a sideways step. I feel there can be only one person to blame, and that has to be Mandaric. His failure to give the manager what he wants in terms of a fair contract has had me worried for quite some time, and now we're going to lose him to a club who are pretty insignificant on the football map. He has obviously had all the wrong vibes from MM and is fed up waiting for a new deal, plus he's probably heard something that we haven't with respect to our own financial state! This is more about budgets and not his wages. We are not in a position where we can afford to be held to ransom. This is about Pearson not wanting to work on a tight/reduced budget. Hull may be strapped too, but four years of parachutes gives them the time to shuffle the pack. Mm can be a dick, but if the money isn't there to provide Pearson with the budget ge wants what can he do? Borrow more money and put us in more of a mess?
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 I learnt long ago that there is no loyalty in football. If he is not happy with his lot here then he has every right to go. Seems incredibly strange that he has chosen Hull though. As far as I am concerned he is/was an important part of our football club but people move on in life and who is to say we won't get somebody in who can take what we have to an even better level. One thing I would say is that what works for you in one place may not work for you at another. Look at what happened to McGhee when he left and who we got in instead. Wolves failed dismally under him and MO came in after hardly setting the world alight at Norwich and helped to give me the best 5 years of supporting my club. I don't remember many people at the time thinking he was a better prospect to manage our club at the time though. Pearson does not have the same feelings for the club that us supporters have. If he goes he should go with the best wishes of the fans as he has helped to turn around the club from freefall and give us some pride back.
Sylvie85 Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Fuming with MM, extremely dissapointed with NP, couldn't even muster a satruday morning wank.
Babylon Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Everyone assumes it's about more money but perhaps this is why he's reported to be going rather than claims for huge wages and big transfer budgets. Sales of players and his budget are linked. So when people mention budgets they might be factoring it in... I certainly am.
DanTheFox07 Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 After mandaric striving for stability, he seem`s ready just to throw that away, must have a manager in mind?? just hope its not dowie!

Well if you are right I'm still not at all angry about the situation, because we need a manager fully committed and not someone who's future relies upon budget promises and keeping hold of players, rather than an honest desire to stay at the club. Whether we need to sell or not, we'll always have the situation whereby if a Premier League club offered £3/4m for one of our players, we would sell. Also, if he is jumping the ship for financial reasons, either his own or the state of the club's, then it's pretty hypocritical going to Hull.

Sods Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Im pissed off because he is our best manager since the MON days. Im pissed off as we were the ones that gave you a chance after Southampton, Pearson. Im pissed off because Mandaric has not made him sign a contract. Im pissed off as it feels like Ive been dumped for a fatter guy. Im pissed off as we were told by Pearson he had a job to finish here. I will always be Leicester City, with or without Pearson, thanks for the two years.
Tommeh Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Fuming with MM, extremely dissapointed with NP, couldn't even muster a satruday morning wank. Add embarrased that we've lost a manager to complete nobodies this is exactly my mood.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Money cant't buy loyalty. FACT. I am neither angry nor surprised.
Daggers Posted 26 June 2010 Author Posted 26 June 2010 Everyone with more than half a brain will be delighted that we'll not start the season with a fanbase full of false optimism. We can go back to having a shit team and moaning all the time. Ahhhh - the good old days are back.
smudger63 Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 I`m disappointed that pearson would be leaving the job unfinished, it`s gonna leave me with a feeling of what might have been, i think we had real potential under his leadership. The truth is though, that in football, the only loyalty comes from the fans. Pearson will move on, without any thoughts of Leicester City, (except maybe to try and take the likes of hobbs and king from us), but for managers and players its just a job. It`s only the fans that love their club and we can`t move to another one, that we believe have better prospects. For me, one of the worse things, would be losing him to Hull, which i find incredible, but it`s his choice. If and when he leaves, i thank him for giving us our pride back, and the two great seasons he gave us, then i wish him faliure and absolutely no sucess for the rest of his career! My football club is far more important to me, than him, so we move on, and hopefully we will continue to push on.

Babylon Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 I'm not angry, just fed up. Monday could well be one of the most depressing football days ever should ze Germans win.
ibbosuk Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Well I have lots of money, that keeps me happy when this sort of thing happens, I just treat myself and I get over it pretty soon, so no not angry. ibbosuk.

lildave3 Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Absolutely crushed. Come out of nowhere aswell. My interest has been waning all summer but this just takes the biscuit.
