How angry are you?

I'm seething.

The thought of losing Pearson to a Premiership club with a huge fanbase, reputation and rolling in money would have been disappointing but understandable. No way would we have been able to compete with that. But Hull? A club with little money, playing in an out-of-town stadium owned by the council, less history, attendances likely to hover around the 15,000 mark in the same division as us and likely to sell players left, right and centre just to survive? It's absolutely criminal that such a thing could be allowed to happen. Now don't get me wrong, we aren't Real Madrid ourselves. We aren't exactly rolling in cash and have some shortcomings with some ageing squad members and holes left by loanees returning to their parent clubs, but anyone can see that this squad has potential. All it needed was for Mandaric to give Pearson what he wanted, which was clearly a decent wage for a more than decent job. It was clear that Pearson had built an excellent ethos and team spirit. Now that potentially lies in tatters because Mandaric wanted him to do a high end Championship job on League One money. Disgraceful and I hope Mandaric fvcks off and sells the club to someone who doesn't need a chisel to open his wallet.

Considering we've already sold 15,000 season tickets I very much doubt it will 'hover around there' at all.

Agree with Bilo, if he was leaving for a bigger club, i would be annoyed but i suppose that would be understandable. But leaving us for a team, who in my eyes are a smaller club, if absolutely tragic. I just don't understand why? Pure greed. I honestly did think he was better than that.

sadly, i had more faith in martin george's abilities when it came to choosing the right man for the job, than i'm ever going to have in milan's

Well he did appoint NP int he first place when no-one else wanted to take the risk .................... saying that I accept that this may have been a one-off!! :(

After 43 years of watching LCFC I'm not angry, just sad and very disappointed that once again, it's the fans that get shat on. God knows why we place so much faith in the money grabbing, two-timing knobs that comprise most of professional football.

It's not the first time this "sort of thing" has happened, and it won't be the last. It just makes me wonder why I bother sometimes.

yes :)

maybe some of us would like to drown our sorrows but ;

NIGEL PEARSON = NO GIN PLEASE

Angry? Why all this negativity? This is perfect entertainment during the off-season!

There's never a dull moment being a fan of LCFC.

Even if it means seeing the (statistically) best Leicester City manager in about ten years to depart for mighty Hull (shudder).

Who says we'll be less successful in the upcoming season without him?

Start moaning once a patch of bad results comes in again, willya? ph34r.gif

Hull - lol lol

Pretty fu cked off in all honesty, Hull are a laughable bunch of nobodies in all kinds of bother with next-to-no prospects of achieving anything as a result. The term "sideways move" is used too frequently in these kinds of situations, but it shouldn't be here. It's seemingly a backwards step for Pearson, but then I guess he loves a challenge - the Southampton and Leicester jobs prove that. Disappointed with how he's conducted himself but hardly suprised because it's us, and lets face it, we HAVE to always make a large-scale mockery of ourselves.

Him joining Hull from us is almost as bad as him joining Stoke. Ridiculous.

Stop being to bloody disrespectful. No matter what you think of Hull as a city (we are hardly much to write home about), their ground, fans or history. The facts are they will be getting four years worth of parachute payments, they might be strapped for cash but their budget is going to be a heck of a lot bigger than ours for some time to come. Pearson wants more cash to play with and obviously we can't offer it to him, so they have beaten us on the one thing that actually matters most to our manager.

i don't get why pearson would leave now, he has already made his first signing towards shaping his own squad for next season, he has arranged all the friendlies in which he will think challange the team and he is going to a club which is going to loose all their star players, have no money and is no improvement on what he has done at leicester, and he still has a year left to run on his contract, whether he accepts a new 1 or not

Sorry, I forgot you were my moral compass and governed my behaviour. :D

I can say what I want about Hull darlin', and not once have I ever claimed Leicester was an awesome city full of beautiful scenery and world-wide attractions. Four years worth of parachute payments they may be getting, but their debts were crippling them in the Premier League with the Premier League's TV revenue, and their wage bill won't drop that drastically unless they can shift the majority of their highest-paid "stars". S'all well and good having a large budget and bringing a massive amount of players in, but it's not always a recipe for success; see QPR. Provided they do use the parachute payments to revamp their squad, what's that going to do for their debt levels? Besides, when the parachute payments run out and they still have huge debts, where do they go if they haven't achieved promotion??

Fair enough if Pearson wants more money and a bigger budget, that's his prerogative and completely up to him. I just don't see what career-sense a move there makes as opposed to building on a solid and successful foundation here where he is adored. It'sa gamble, plain and simple, which could quite easily backfire on him.

Really pretty angry to be honest. But also without knowing the ins and outs of what happened between NP and MM regarding contracts and budgets etc, I'm not sure who to be more angry at.

Of course we'll move on whatever happens but I can't help feeling that he was the right manager to get us back into the premier league and establish us there and now we'll have to go through another succession of managers before we find another of a similar calibre.

One thing's for sure, I'm not happy with Hull, the whole place can get fcuked

You can say what you want, and you can look like a clown when you say it... which invariably you always do. Congratulations darlin.

We aren't talking about 4 years time, we are talking about now... and now they have the four years of payments for Pearson to do what he wants with. If he doesn't do a good job then he won't be there, if he does a good job then he still won't be there as he'll have jumped ship to someone he sees as having better prospects (more money), exactly what he is about to do to us.

Exactly. Until (if ever) we uncover the backroom wranglings at our end let's just concentrate all our hatred at the maulers.

People can blame MM but you don't know how much Pearson was demanding in wages and transfer budget. I'd rather lose Pearson than see our club do a Palace.

Hull waste money, they have done for quite a few years and with the parachute payments, they will give Pearson whatever he wants to spend (within reason) I should imagine.

Money talks boys and girls.

I'm angry, really angry!

He was building a great team and we were so close to going up last year.

WHY join Hull though? If it was a PL team then fair enough, But HULL??? :(

He's gone from leicesters savior to a villain in 1 day

lol lol if I'm being perfectly honest, your opinion is worth about as much to me as a dead spider. Don't generally tend to read anything posted by you if it isn't addressed to me anyway (which, thankfully, it rarely is) and I'm seriously never likely to either meet or want to meet you so meh, whatevs. (Just before you say anything, I'm glad you feel the same).

I've got my opinions on the state of Hull's club, I've got my opinions on what I think of it as a move for Pearson and I've got my opinions on how I think our clubs compare with each other. Right or wrong, I won't be changing them because you, of all people, don't agree. I've also now been able to generate an opinion on you as well so thanks.

I don't care about their parachute payments - I said if Pearson wants to go there for more money and a better budget that's up to him. But it's a gamble and could easily backfire, because QPR have proven money cannot guarantee success in this division. And if Hull "do a QPR", which is quite conceivable, they will be deep in the shit, and Pearson will find himself out on his arse - the backfire I was talking about. Don't really see what's "clown-like" about that.

Now run along and bore / entertain / enlighten somebody else by challenging things they've said which are similar to what I said.

Awwww didums, the mighty keyboard warrior is upset with me. I'm nearly devastated that you don't read what I post, which we both know is a lie. Unless you have some magical brain that only filters out my posts, even though you'd never previously had an opinion of me.

Your first post it the one that's laughable. Bits like "Him joining Hull from us is almost as bad as him joining Stoke", yeah like all the managers in this league would turn down the chance to manage what are now becoming an established premier league team like it or not.

And saying it's a "backwards step", well obviously he thinks otherwise as he wouldn't be going would he. You should take your head out of your arse and leave your blue tinted glasses in there. Your view that we are some almighty team who are better than all the others of equal size is ridiculous. The facts are we aren't better than all these teams, to anyone other than our supporters we are another also ran from a shit city. And it looks like Pearson will be leaving to go to another also ran from a shit city, but with more money.

Nobody is denying you the right to an opinion, maybe you should attempt to do it without making yourself look like a fool though.

I'm gutted, I think to soften the blow his first move as Hull boss should be a straight swap - Bullard for DJ. He owes us that much for the way we have supported the team, haha.

So angry I did this on Paint.

There's no comeback as good as a penis on a club's logo with some slightly re-arranged lettering.
