davieG Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 I don't suppose any of the players congratulated DJ on his goal considering how they are all supposed to hate him
NorthernFox Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 Restarted pc, not a sound coming from Yorkshire....
Lillehamring Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 I don't suppose any of the players congratulated DJ on his goal considering how they are all supposed to hate him no, it's the fans that hate him...well, until 2 games ago
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 Have you got yours peterborofox? Nope. Must have gone about 15 mins ago now. It did say on the Os before the match that Connection permitting, Foxes Player has exclusive live commentary of the game from the Don Valley Stadium with coverage starting at 7:40pm So the fact it says connection permitting must mean they thought it could go wrong.
BigBawsFaeTheShaws Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 Nothing here from your Kettering correspondent. Looks like it's thank-you & goodnight from Rotherham.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 Couldn't we just put our Yellow shirts on? We were wearing yellow! (Pretty sure the commentator said we were anyway!)
NorthernFox Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 Defo no sound, 2-1 victory will do. Good run out for 70 odd mins.
Narborough_fox Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 We were wearing yellow! (Pretty sure the commentator said we were anyway!) But they play in red, don't they.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 From the Rotherham OS: Rotherham United started pre-season with a bright performance but were eventually beaten 2-1 by Championship outfit Leicester City. The match ended prematurely with a floodlight failure but the Millers showed some positive signs throughout the game. Adam Le Fondre was again one of the bright points, netting a first half penalty, but goals from Paul Gallagher and DJ Campbell were enough to secure the win for the visitors. Ronnie Moore selected several of his new signings for this evening's first open pre-season friendly of the new season against Leicester City. Ryan Cresswell, Tom Newey, Mark Bradley and Tom Elliott all started for the Millers with other new signings Luke Ashworth and Marcus Marshall on the bench. The visitors were the first to show signs of breaking the deadlock on five minutes when Paul Gallagher tried his luck from distance, but Andy Warrington showed the reflexes were still in good order when he tipped the ball around the post. Andy King threatened for Leicester when his cross picked out DJ Campbell but his flicked header went just past Warrington's far post. Adam Le Fondre showed good instincts moments later when he caught Foxes 'keeper Chris Weale dallying on the ball. The Millers striker slid in to tackle the 'keeper but Weale recovered in the nick of time to claim the ball. The away side took the lead on 10 minutes when a Lloyd Dyer broke clear down left before crossing to Steve Howard whose downward header found Gallagher who tapped in from six yards out. On 18 minutes Weale produced another gaffe when he careered into Tom Elliott when the on loan striker chased down a long ball. The referee immediately pointed to the spot and Le Fondre stepped up to convert with a low shot into the corner. The Foxes almost replied straight away when Tom Kennedy's centre from the left was headed over by the unmarked King. Gallagher continued to look a threat and his shot from the right on 33 minutes was deflected just wide of the far post. From the resulting corner Jack Hobbs struck a shot from 18 yards out just over the bar. On 36 minutes Le Fondre and Elliott showed signs of a good understanding when Elliott's layoff found Le Fondre on the edge of the area, but his scuffed shot was saved low down by Weale. Half time Rotherham United 1 v 1 Leicester City The visitors made a host of changes at half time, with only Kennedy, Hobbs and Campbell returning from the first half.Ronnie Moore, on the other hand, made just one change, with Danny Harrison replacing Bradley. With less than three minutes played in the first half Le Fondre and Elliott continued their good work and came within the width of the post of taking the lead. Le Fondre broke down the left wing and played the ball inside to Elliott, who shot from 18 yards and beat substitute 'keeper Conrad Logan only to see the ball bounce clear off the post. On the hour Leicester regained the lead thanks to an outstanding strike from 18 yards.Jorrin John carried the ball deep into the Millers' half and played the ball into the path of Campbell, who took one touch and smashed it into the far corner past a helpless Warrington. Five minutes later substitute Harrison had a chance to equalise after Elliott intelligently allowed the ball to run which set Harrison through on goal, but the midfielder scuffed his shot wide of Logan's post. He then missed an even better chance less than a minute later, when he latched onto Le Fondre's deep cross but missed the target from six yards. With 11 minutes remaining, floodlight failure brought a premature end to the game with the visitors leading 2-1
Ashley Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 We've had to walk all the way round to evem get to out turnstiles were we first started... Floodlights are back on, typical.
ScouseFox Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 Rotherham United started pre-season with a bright performance Nice wording
doughnut Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 2-1, that will do and DJ on the mark again. Not fantastic by the sound of it and plenty to work on. Think sousa will have a fair idea now where he needs to improve within the squad. Could have been worse BURY 4-0 LEEDS lol lol lol lol
Basingstoke Fox Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 2-1, that will do and DJ on the mark again. Not fantastic by the sound of it and plenty to work on. Think sousa will have a fair idea now where he needs to improve within the squad. Could have been worse BURY 4-0 LEEDS lol lol lol lol Doesn't matter too much really. Just a friendly. Basingstoke beat Southampton and Villa this last week but that doesn't mean much either.
sorrelite Posted 20 July 2010 Posted 20 July 2010 Just got back from this game (live in Sheffield in case you are wondering). Game was a bit like attack and defence for the most part with City knocking it aroung and getting the odd shot away. Rotherham hitting just on the break. First half was the first team; Kennedy looks a really good left back, confident in possession and a good crosser, Wellens did his usual foot on the ball stuff and Gallagher played much more central and seemed to like the pass and go stuff. Adams was a disappointment at right back - not strong enough really. But the stand out class player on the night was Campbell. Quick, extremely strong and a fantastic finish. Looks the player he always should have been.
