mmarkie Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 Has he ? I was unsure on him any way ! Hmm two new faces ? heskey ? I'm confused, who said there was going to be two new faces?
andy_croydz Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 To be honest I think we need to sign another striker, not just Crncic but someone else aswell, with Yann going we need at least 4 strikers who are proven at this level. So far we have Howard, Fryatt and DJ, Crncic will more likely be one for the future, give him a few starts and some sub appearances but unlikely to be a first team regular. We need to sign a good striker, open the cheque book a bit, spend upto 1 million IMO.

andy_croydz Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 1 mill? is that all..........look how much Akinbiyi cost us yeh but the manager was Peter 'put Junior Lewis on 18k a week' Taylor. We could get a good striker for around 1 mill if we look hard enough. Maybe 1.5 mill, how much did Humey cost? Around 750k? He was a good striker.

andy_croydz Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 Why is he likely to be less of a regular than Waghorn was Well as far as I am aware... Crncic has not played a great deal of football at this kind of level. Waghorn was a Championship standard striker, I have never seen Crncic play so I can't judge him but he does seem like a bit of a wildcard selection. We don't know how he will turn out at this level.
MC Prussian Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 People are asking the wrong questions in this thread. Now to the real question: How the hell are you supposed to pronounce Crncic? Like zern'sic or what? Tshrrntshitsh.

I love these 'Ive not seen him so can't judge, but fcuk it I'm going to anyway' posts
Corky Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 I love these 'Ive not seen him so can't judge, but fcuk it I'm going to anyway' posts It's what we do.
andy_croydz Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 I love these 'Ive not seen him so can't judge, but fcuk it I'm going to anyway' posts Well he isn't proven at this level and you cannot deny that. I'm not judging him, just stating a fact
davieG Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 Well he isn't proven at this level and you cannot deny that. I'm not judging him, just stating a fact Neither was Waghorn before he arrived 4 appearances for Sunderland and 7 in 1 month loan to Charlton - total 1 goal
BoneDog Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 People are asking the wrong questions in this thread. Now to the real question: How the hell are you supposed to pronounce Crncic? Like zern'sic or what? My uneducated guess is Cran-chick or Cran-sitch.
andy_croydz Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 Neither was Waghorn before he arrived 4 appearances for Sunderland and 7 in 1 month loan to Charlton - total 1 goal True, he must have been good in the reserves though and known to be good in training. Obviously theres a big difference between training and match play though. I just havn't heard of what this Crncic has done so far in his career, as far as I know he has never been a regular at any club he has been at. Obviously he is young and is a prospect but IMO he will be signed as one for the future rather than being thrown straight into the starting 11 every week. If i'm wrong then i'll admit I was wrong.
Ozwin Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 Or you could chill with the assumptions and just wait and see?
Guest Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 Or you could chill with the assumptions and just wait and see? Stop talking sense and offer us a wildly speculative opinion on how this guy will do!!
dave_the_fox Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 My uneducated guess is Cran-chick or Cran-sitch. I thought chur-nick?
AyewJoking Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 Its chur-nitch or chick as he is affectionately known back home. Bumped into him in Morrisons earlier.
andy_croydz Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 I dont actually get why people think i'm judging him already. Does anyone disagree that he is unproven at this level at the moment and he is most likely to be signed as one for the future/sub? If he plays in a few games and impresses then he will probably earn himself a starting place. I'm not saying he isn't good and we shouldn't sign him, I want us to sign him but also sign a proven striker. He isn't proven yet. If Crncic hardly plays next season and is on the bench a lot I want an apology

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 23 July 2010 Posted 23 July 2010 B U L L S H I T ! Well thats definately not the way to pronouce his name... although I imgaine he may be dubbed that from the terraces?

If Crncic hardly plays next season and is on the bench a lot I want an apology don't we all but they don't come cheap and that is the market we are in, proven strikers who score plenty of goals command a large fee some of the proven ones probably leaving clubs this year like Beattie, Kitson, Chopra etc would cost millions that we simply don't have so while that's the case it's all about calculated risks like Waghorn last season
