The Mysterious Disappearance of Nicky Adams

I am writing a new book (Fiction or Non-Fiction, I'm not sure yet !); about the mysterious disappearance of one Nicky Adams, a midfield player with Leicester City Association Football Club, who went missing after some pre-season 'Friendly' matches (including some in Tito's Yugosalvia - though I may be a touch out of date with the recent history of that part of Eastern Europe). Since those matches, very few people were to see this player and he has never played for the Club in 'proper' games - either with the First XV or the Seconds (I am a 'rugger' man !). There were rumours in May 2010, that he would be transferred to a Club in the Brentford area of London, but he declined this opportunity to stay with his, "beloved Leicester" and a new Portugese Coach, who he thought would resurrect his career.

I am appealing for information from supporters of the esteemed Leicester City AFC, who might know of the whereabouts of this player. Is he still at the Club, has he gone to another, or is he injured (perhaps an encounter with a Bulgarian Umbrella !) - or (as I believe), did he stay in Yugoslavia, to sell his secrets to Tito's Security Police ?

I've heard reports of two gentleman, dressed all in black and with with heavily styled moustaches paying a visit to Mr Adams in his room whilst in eastern europe. A chamber maid reported hearing heavy footsteps and raised voices in his room shortly after breakfast, when she entered his room to refresh his towels she noted that the bed sheets had been pulled back and the bathroom floor was damp, his towels however remained on the rack!

Those same moustached men were seen at the train station later that afternoon carrying a large traveling case and talking to a well coiffured southern european gentleman in jeans...

He's next witness up at William Hague's house.

He also accepted a blood orange, presented to him at 1am by 3 men knocking on his hotel room door. A gift from Peter Taylor I believe.

I'm just wondering who this "Leicester City AFC" are... Never heard of 'em. There was a Nicky Adams who played football for Leicester City FC, however...

I think you've missed the humour of Bald Reynard's post. I think the thrust of it, is that it's supposedly written by a "rugger" fan who doesn't understand the nuaces of "soccer".
