lildave3 Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 Chelsea are rolling again, champions at work. Both goals were fantastic in completely different ways.
Jimothy Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 Liverpool - joke of the season? Well done Blackpool - what an upset. Cracking save by Gilks at the end of injury time. Wow just seen it on MOTD2. Wasn't straight at him as well, like a lot of those point blank save are. Brilliant save.
MikeyT Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 From SSN. Poor Liverpool. Under-fire boss Roy Hodgson has accepted Liverpool find themselves in a relegation battle after another shock home defeat. After the embarrassing Carling Cup loss to Northampton, the Reds went down 2-1 to Premier League newcomers Blackpool to sit in the top-flight relegation zone heading into the international break. Hodgson admits Liverpool's start to the campaign is unacceptable and conceded they could find themselves in a survival battle this season. "Things are looking really, really bleak. It has been said that if you are in the bottom three, you are in a relegation fight, and I would have to go along with that," admitted Hodgson. "But I'm not thinking too much about relegation with 31 games left. My concerns are that we are not playing to our full potential, or are only doing it in periods. In the first half we were punished for a lacklustre display. "We had the ball as much as they did but didn't do anywhere near enough with it to satisfy my demands, the club's demands or the players' demands on themselves." The Kop chanted the name of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish, who was overlooked for a return to the manager's job this summer, towards the end of the game and Hodgson can understand the fans' frustrations. He said: "The fans are entitled to voice their frustrations, they are a frustrated group at the moment. "I am the one responsible because I am the team manager. When the team does badly then the criticism is going to fall my way and I have to accept it." Work Liverpool sit in 18th place, with just six points from seven matches, and Hodgson admits he has got his work cut out to rectify the situation. "There is a lot of work to do and a lot of things to sort out," said Hodgson, whose side have now not won in five matches in all competitions. "The only thing I can take heart from is that the spirit from the team is still there because I couldn't have asked for any more in the second half. "We were really anxious to get back on the right track with this result but we were unable to do it and no words will make the situation any better. "It is pointless to try to be positive because we lost the game. Nightmare result "Their great result is our nightmare result. It is a very bad day. "At the moment things look bleak and really bad and it is difficult for me to put a bright face upon it."
The Doctor Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 hah. saw the liverpool match on MOTD2 last night, what was johnson doing for both goals? Shit defender, terrible signing by benitez, hodgson is in the crapper until jan (if he lasts that long) when he can sort it out, get rid of rafas rubbish and bring some good players in. And it should have been worse, no way was that a free-kick in the build up to liverpools goal.
FoxyPV Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Mancheda has called Rooney a chav. Talk about pointing out the obvious
Mikey Posted 8 October 2010 Posted 8 October 2010 Mancheda has called Rooney a chav. Talk about pointing out the obvious Whys he a chav?
FoxyPV Posted 8 October 2010 Posted 8 October 2010 Whys he a chav? I was going to give you a list of reasons or talk about the general meaning behind the description that Macheda actually used which actually refutes this claim : He's a scouser
StanSP Posted 8 October 2010 Posted 8 October 2010 Whys he a chav? He hasn't actually called him a chav. He said something in Italian, 'coatto'. "Rooney is a really great person, he always gives me advice, but he's a bit of a coatto," Macheda told the Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport. Coatto is a Roman slang term that is translated by online dictionary wordreference.com as "young urban working class person with vulgar and sometimes violent behaviour", but is understood in the same way a "chav" would be in English. It seems likely that Macheda meant the term affectionately, however, and certainly not as the insult it might seem when taken out of context. Some reports of the same interview suggest he actually finished the sentence "a coatto like me". So he hasn't directly called him a chav. Even though he is one. Plus, if he did actually say 'like me', then I doubt he would have meant it offensively.
Jimothy Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Oh dear, shocking goalkeeping from Van der Sar.
BoneDog Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 I reckon he had £200,000 on 2-2. Ridiculous attempt at a catch!
FoxyPV Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Don't see what the fus was all about for Spurs' winner. Definitely not offside. VDS threw that in - have to agree with El on this one.

Guest ttfn Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Good old Arsenal fans, cheering off Wilshere after an absolute horror tackle. Easily worse than that Shawcross one last season.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 I fooking hate Tony Pulis. He's an aggressive, moaning chav.
FoxyPV Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Think Shearer actually did some decent punditry for that goal as well. Most unlike him. He has his moments of clarity and then returns to middle of the road drivel, instantly quashing any hope you had. Such a dive for the Arsenal penalty - oh and a possible leg breaker but Arsene didn't see anything. Cunt! Ancelotti is a cool mofo though.
Jimothy Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Good old Arsenal fans, cheering off Wilshere after an absolute horror tackle. Easily worse than that Shawcross one last season. Erm no it wasn't. Shawcross nearly put Ramsey in the stands last season, the Wilshire one was a bad tackle but it was more mistimed than reckless. And Wilshire has come out and apologised straight away rather than balling his eyes out and playing the victim card like Shawcross. That said I think it's time Wenger shut up about tackling. I know he didn't complain about the red card today, but you know he would have moaned had that tackle been the other way round. Sometimes a tackle can be mistimed and catch a player badly without being reckless and you just have to accept it as part of the game.
FoxyPV Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Chelsea looked much less threatening with Drogba - ALMOST average up front.

Sometimes a tackle can be mistimed and catch a player badly without being reckless and you just have to accept it as part of the game. 1) Shawcross didn't "play the victim card". I don't particularly like or rate the guy but that incident was blown out of all proportion. He's not an actor; he was visiblu upset. Ridiculous. 2) Shawcross went in too hard and off the ground. Not studs up. Wilshere went in studs up. For me, that's a worse offence. A matter of opinion evidently. I'm of the opinion that Wilshere can do no wrong in the eyes of too many people. He's done ok this season but not been worthy of a) the hype or b) the England cap and worst of all, he's a nasty little ****er (see exhibit a: the whole of Liverpool v Arsenal and exhibit b: today). You might even say that he's "that type of player". On a side note, watching Rooney at the moment is a seriously painful experience. This is a man, who at the turn of the year was playing better than anybody else on the planet (including Messi - if you don't remember, look it up). Now he looks like an amateur. I'd be disappointed to be showcasing his first touch.

Ancelotti is a cool mofo though. well it wasn't, dann clearly kicked chamakhs foot, and wenger said the wiltshire foul was worthy of a red if you saw the Post match interview on MOTD.
Samilktray Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 I fooking hate Tony Pulis. He's an aggressive, moaning chav. Whats chavvy about him.
Tilley Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 I hope Everton beat Liverpool and then I hope City put 10 past Blackpool.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Cmon Everton! 2-1 Everton Win, 0-2 Man City win. My predictions, but I hope blackpool beat Man city.
