iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Agree with Joe, Chelsea will boss it, with City in 2nd. Malouda Drogba Anelka & Milner Silva Johnson Tevez Brilliant attacking forces. Also loving Holloways post match comments, talking about Doritos
Jimothy Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Most pleasing article I've read in ages Foxy. Perhaps Sven could tempt him to City............
FoxyPV Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Why do players think that they can take on SAF and win? The mind boggles. Personally don't give a fook about Rooney's form but hope it stays that way especially for England
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Chamakh & Van Der Vaart gotta be the 2 best signings this year.
mancunianfox Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Chamakh & Van Der Vaart gotta be the 2 best signings this year. Odemwingie and Van Der Vaart for me so far. Pleased to hear Rooney might be getting out of the sinking ship that is Old Trafford. They aren't going to have too much more success with Fergie and the current board in charge. United let too many quality players slip away due to beetroot faces stubborness. Now this hasn't been a problem in the past because he has always been able to replace players and maintain the quality of the squad. However due to the clubs debt he can no longer do that and the club isn't have much success with the youth system either. So United are in a situation where as players leave the quality of their squad is decreasing and for the first time in years the players capable of replacing them are nowhere to be seen. With Giggs, Scholes and Ferdinand all coming to the end of their careers as well can Fergie really afford to be giving the cold shoulder to a player as good as Rooney? Unless some kind of miracle happens in the board room the answer is no. Van Der Vaart is a good example of Utd's current plight. Now Madrid might have been reluctant to offer him to clubs they were in competition to in the champions league but he was at one point on his way to Bayern Munich so that doesn't really hold. Surely United should have been banging Jose's door down to be signing a proven player who had played in the world cup final for such a reasonable fee? Instead they wasted the money on Bebe and let VDV go to Spurs, a team who now really look the part of a top four side. In fact this could be the first year that both United and Liverpool finish outside of the top four. I think Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham all look far more likely to finish above them. Sorry about the essay...bored at work.
StanSP Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Andy Carroll is in court again today for smacking his girl about. He's also due in court next week for a different assault charge. Don't expect to see him in a Newcastle shirt anytime soon!

Dickie Greenleaf Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Whats chavvy about him. A 40 year old man wearing a baseball cap come rain or shine.
Samilktray Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 A 40 year old man wearing a baseball cap come rain or shine. Oh the great big chav.
Dickie Greenleaf Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 I'm of the opinion that Wilshere can do no wrong in the eyes of too many people. He's done ok this season but not been worthy of a) the hype or b) the England cap and worst of all, he's a nasty little ****er (see exhibit a: the whole of Liverpool v Arsenal and exhibit b: today). You might even say that he's "that type of player".

dandannieldanok Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Why do players think that they can take on SAF and win? The mind boggles. SAF and United need Rooney more than Rooney needs SAF and United. Rooney knows full well that he'll have all the top European Clubs and Man City lining up for him regardless of what form he's in or how many prositutes he's been porking. United are the vulnerable ones here, who have they got to replace Rooney.............Michael Owen?
Samilktray Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 SAF has never regretted selling a player who's crossed him before.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 He won't piss about with Rooney. He's got rid of Van Nistelrooy, Beckham, Stam, Yorke in the past. All were world class at the time. And despite the departures, they've always been 1st/2nd/3rd.

And despite the departures, they've always been 1st/2nd/3rd. when he got rid of those they still had a bit of money to piss about with, despite getting 80 mill for ronaldo in 2009 he didn't get all of it to spend then and he didn't look like getting much of it this summer. He's going to regret it if he doesn't keep hold of rooney.

No ones bigger than the club, especially Manchester United.

No ones bigger than the club, especially Manchester United. Man Utd looked weaker for losing ronaldo and tevez last season, without valencia they'll probably struggle even more this season. It says a lot when Giggs and Scholes (both reaching the end of their careers - in the top flight at least) have been probably man u's strongest players along with berbatov (who's been poor for the majority of his time there). I reckon SAF rushed rooney back too quickly after injury back in march and with the world cup he never really got a chance to recover completely after that injury before the season got going again. The fact that fergie isn't able to leave him out of the squad completely, for me shows how weak man utd are up front and losing rooney is just going to make it worse.
mancunianfox Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 United have lost players before but they were in a completely different position financially back then. They have not replaced Tevez or Ronaldo yet and might be losing Rooney as well. They don't have money for players and don't have much coming through the youth system either. Add to this the upcoming retirements of Scholes, Van Der Sar and Giggs and the question marks over Rio and it becomes clear the club are in a totally different position. Ferguson is a great, but with no money, thats a lot of rabbits out of a very small hat.
FoxyPV Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 The Newcastle United and England Under-21 striker Andy Carroll was bailed to live with his club captain today after appearing in court charged with assaulting an ex-girlfriend.Wearing jeans and a dark hooded top, the 21-year-old was driven away from Tynedale magistrates court in Hexham, Northumberland, in a people carrier with blacked-out windows. He was charged with assaulting Laurie Henderson, an ex-girlfriend, at her home in Ponteland, Northumberland, sometime after 4.30am yesterday. Following an hour-long hearing he was granted conditional bail to live with captain Kevin Nolan at his family home, also in Ponteland, a 15-minute walk from the complainant's address. Magistrates agreed Carroll does not have to stay overnight at Mr Nolan's home when Newcastle are playing. The player was told he must not contact any prosecution witnesses. Carroll, who gave his address as the Jesmond Dene Hotel, Newcastle, will deny the offence and claims self-defence, the court heard. The case was adjourned until 10 January.

Im sure he'll still field a strong team.

He's won fuck all since getting rid of Ince, Beckham, Stam and Van Nistelrooy while all of them went on to be Champions League winners. Oh wait, no hang on...

Man Utd are harbouring debts of around £800m nowadays. SAF was able to replace talent that he'd pissed off quite easily in the past, don't for one minute think it's going to be just as easy this time around. Even if they had money to spend (which they don't), Man City will quite gleefully bomb them out of the water in the transfer market. Man Utd will suffer if Rooney goes, I'm very confident of it. As LargeAl says, Man Utd's best players currently are probably Scholes and Giggs, their squad is on the decline and Rooney going would be a huge huge loss.
Collier Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 I want Rooney to join Real if he leaves Man United.

Berbatov and Nani have been far more effective this season than Scholes or Giggs. And Rooney for that matter. People seem to be gleefully forgetting he was shit even before this story broke.
