Corky Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Baggies also missed a penalty- hope they can hang on.
sdb Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 good for WBA & Sunderland, otherwise a pretty boring day so far (in the 3pm kick offs). horror show for my fantasy team, 3rd week running
sdb Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 for the second week running only 1 player gets over 2 points in my fantasy team. sick.
Bugg Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Liverpool, goal or not? Dubious but I can understand why it was given.
Jimothy Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Stuart Attwell is useless. He's everything thats wrong with the governing of football in England. They decided he was to be fast tracked to the Premier League, as some kind of young star referee and despite numerous high profile mistakes, including the "Ghost goal" in the Reading v Watford match he's still made it. He's generally looks baffled and lost in all matches he officiates. Today a bit of common sense would have told him Turner wasn't taking that free kick and merely knocking it back to the keeper to take.
ScouseFox Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Technically a goal I guess, but Attwell wasn't looking at the ball, and a bit of common sense would've told him that Turner hadn't taken the free kick.
sdb Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Not sure why Atwell is still at this level. Makes big mistakes almost every game.
Narborough_fox Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Atwell is a joke of the referee, my mum knows the rules better and she sent someone to the sin bin.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 What annoys me is that Attwell is a liar. He didnt see it yet gave a goal. The linesman is just as bad.
Matt Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Not sure why Atwell is still at this level. Makes big mistakes almost every game. What do you mean 'is still at this level'? What makes his mistakes at a 'lower level' any more right? Why should they suffer for his ineptness? I don't get it when a referee is 'punished' by getting demoted to the Championship, League One, League Two, or even lower, Why should those teams in the lower leagues get punished for referees bad decisions? What makes their games any less important than Premiership games?

If they're not fit to referee then they shouldn't be doing it at all.

If they're not fit to referee then they shouldn't be doing it at all. That does annoy me. But probably what annoys me more is that if whoever makes these decisions that the best refs will officiate the the higher leagues, how the hell have the likes of Attwell and Rennie made it to the Premier League. If they are going to insist on promoting refs, it has to be based on some kind of performance. Attwell was shocking in the Football League before moving up to the Premier League, and if football teams were promoted on the same basis City would be nailed on to go up this year.
Tilley Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 This is what happens when you don't replace Almunia, he should be sat in the reserves until January and then sold, he's pathetic.
Matt Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 This is what happens when you don't replace Almunia, he should be sat in the reserves until January and then sold, he's pathetic. Wenger Out!
Tilley Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Pressure will mount on him for sure. Almunia can't play, Fabianski is probably worse so that leaves Mannone or Szczesny, bet he wishes he'd signed Given when Newcastle offered or even Schwarzer. Also, without RVP, Walcott, Fabregas and Vermaelen it might be a struggle to get fourth. They must have the weakest squad and worst medical team in the Premier League.
Edmund Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 The Emirates = cringe The way they read the players first names out and only about 1% of the crowd shout the surname. How embarrassing. I remember when Birch tried doing it at The Walkers, half the people didn't even know the players surnames. It's only good when you see crowds in Turkey pull it off.
Mikey Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Man Uniteds allocation cut from 5000 to 3000 because they 'insist on standing up.'

I swear I heard booing at the end of MOTD as well. It must be so hard supporting the 3rd best team in England.
MikeyT Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Bolton 1-1 Man United Nani (cry baby) with the equaliser
