surrifox Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 The Telegraph reports that Mandaric will return to take charge of Portsmouth once he has completed the sale of the club
stix Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 When the takeover was announced did they not say that the thai consortium would take full control in two years? And until then milan would stay as chairman. Or was i dreaming?!

Poakey Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Whos gonna be the 1st to reply "Its just lazy journalism"
Father Ted Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Unless there's a Portsmouth in America, I really doubt it.
FOX_MATT Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Just seen this on sky sports website.... Mandaric open to Pompey return Former Portsmouth owner Milan Mandaric has revealed he would never rule out a return to Fratton Park. Mandaric previously spent eight years as Pompey supremo before selling the club to Alexandre Gaydamak back in 2006. He has subsequently been the owner of Leicester City, but Mandaric has agreed a deal to sell the club to the Asian Football Investments Consortium, which is awaiting Football League approval. His decision to offload the Foxes has led to reports that Mandaric could return to Pompey, who became the first Premier League club to enter administration earlier this year. Portsmouth are trying to find fresh investment and 21-year-old entrepreneur Tom Lever is reportedly keen on taking over the now Championship club. Love affair However, Mandaric could also make an offer for Pompey after admitting his interest in being involved with the club again. Mandaric told the Daily Star: "I would always be interested in going back, although at the moment I am still involved with Leicester. "Everyone knows my love affair with Portsmouth, and the club is still very much in my heart. "If I had known what was going to happen to Portsmouth after I left, then I would never have sold it in the first place. "To go back there is something I would never rule out, but that is all I can say at the moment."
MrSpaM Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 After all the stuff he's said about neglecting his family and business' in america, i can't see him jumping straight into another club, wouldn't be surprised if he went back their in a couple of years time, but surely it'd be too much of a risk atm?
Webbo Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 I think I read somewhere that he still owns a large chunk of ground next to their stadium. If he could get Portsmouth to relocate presumably the value of that land would increase.

That's what they said when he waltzed out of Pompey the first time.
davieG Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 From the Merc Milan Mandaric 'to lose more than £5m' over Leicester City sale Thursday, August 26, 2010, 09:30Comment on this story<br style="line-height: 1.4em; "> Milan Mandaric says he will lose "far more than £5 million" as part of the sale of Leicester City to the Thai-led consortium. The club chairman said he would write off a significant chunk of the £21m he has put into the club over the past three-and-a-half years. Mandaric said this would slash City's £26m debt and leave them in a far better financial position. "I'm going to write off far more than £5m," he said. "It will be a reduction in what is owed to me. The club will be a lot better off financially." His comments came after the Football League confirmed they had not yet granted official approval of the sale of the club. Mandaric said he expected the League to give the £39m deal the thumbs-up within days. "There's a deal that's been signed from a business point of view," he said. "We're going through the formalities with the League. There are things they want to know about such as finance, budget and where the money has come from. "It's all under control and it's all being worked through with the League. But it takes time. "I hope to give a lot more detail about the deal in the next few days. We want to make sure the League is happy first and then we'll come out and tell people." Following the takeover, Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn and his multi-millionaire father Vichai, owner of Thailand retail group King Power, control 60 per cent of the club. The rest will be split between Mandaric and an unnamed Asian business person, who has yet to formally sign up to the deal. Mandaric has previously said he would sell his remaining stake after two years, but yesterday suggested he could depart sooner. "I don't have to stay on for two years," he said. "I will stay as long as I'm needed." The Football League said they had no concerns regarding the takeover of City by the Asia Football Investments consortium. A spokesman for the League did confirm that the Football League board had not yet granted official approval of the sale of the club, but said the League were happy with the current process. Under new guidelines, which were voted in on August 4, City were supposed to notify the League regarding the sale of the club to the consortium before the deal was officially announced. However, the deal was announced just a few days after the guidelines were implemented and it was accepted there would be a bedding-in period for the new regulations. City say they have now submitted the documentation, which will be scrutinised. "The Football League has no concerns and is quite happy with the documentation that has been received so far," the League spokesman said. "The documentation will be studied before going to the board for approval. "The club missed the original deadline but it is a new process. "There will be no new deadline and it will take as long as it takes to go through the documentation with due diligence."

STUHILL Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 I appreciate MM's money he has put in the the club (loans) but i HATE how often he comes out and says how much HE is spending or writing off our debts or how much he has lost!! Sounds like he just wants everyone to worship him. Gets a little tiring after a while.....
wurmer Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Do you honestly still believe all the stuff he says in public? Quintessentially, succinctly and eloquently summarised in as few words as possible, indeed one word.. no
Cheese Me Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 From the Mercury report sounds like we can forget about any 'big' signings before the transfer window closes. No way they'll complete due dilligence in time for us to be spending cash / writing out expensive contracts for wages before Tuesday
Jackirius Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Biggest load of Bullcrap ive heard in a long while...
Maybes Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Mandaric - Spinning his own shite in the media all the time.
