Wymsey Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 This is my first season being a box holder at the walker stadium, and i was shocked at how poor the standards are. First of all the food is terrible and the portions are small. The waiters are lazy, unresponsive and clearly do not want to be there. People pay a lot of money to watch from a executive boxes and Leicester city make a lot of money, but people are not going to keep reaching into there pockets when we get very litle back. Hopefully the new owners will put some money into this department. The sales team and the higher ups are fantastic, they couldnt be better. But the chefs and the staff on the day need to sort it out, otherwise th club will lose money. Thanks for reading. I absolutely agree with you here mate. The portions on Saturday were terribly small. eg. 10 people in my box receiving only a portion of what would only 5 people would eat. This is a disgrace considering my Uncle/Father pay £10,000 per season for the box (hospitality included). My Uncle was so upset about the size of the food we were supposed to share out, that he called one of the lazy waitresses in (they really are trust me) and said to her that 'this is the first time we had problems with food not being enough for us all and we had the box since 1974 (also at F.Street.) They also don't clear the tables up and forgot the bloody half time food (biscuits) This football club gets worse by each home match. Disgusting.
phillthefox Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I agree with these clowns that are sat in a box all warm watching the football, i mean if all you have to worry about is a lazy waitress and small portions you life must be so hard.... try sitting in the fooking cold every game, going to fetch your own food and get this standing in a queue before paying for a shit pie and flat pint....... why dont you posh twats fook off to tigers and stop playing at being posh...... TRUE BLUE TILL I DIE !!!!!!!!!

Messi Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 My heart bleeds for you, bet all of the armed forces etc are living in luxury aint they?! Get a grip, tool.
AoWW Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 My heart bleeds for you, bet all of the armed forces etc are living in luxury aint they?! Get a grip, tool. Huh? Have to say, I don't see the connection.
Messi Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I was meaning why moan about the food at the ground in there box, when there is loads of people starving, people fighting for the country etc who probably would moan at the food but can't afford to etc Sorry if I didn't make myself clear

TRUE BLUE TILL I DIE !!!!!!!!! What is the need for being abusive? These people are fans just like the rest of us, they just happen to have done well enough in life to be able to afford a box and to share it with family and friends etc. I can only presume the abusive they have received in this thread is born out of jealousy. They have as much right to vent their anger at the club on here as anyone else, it's not exclusive to just those that purchase cheap seats on here.
Babylon Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I was meaning why moan about the food at the ground in there box, when there is loads of people starving, people fighting for the country etc who probably would moan at the food but can't afford to etc Sorry if I didn't make myself clear Because it's a service they have paid for. Would you not moan if you went to a restaurant (probably the chip shop in your case) and they gave you half portions?
Unabomber Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I was meaning why moan about the food at the ground in there box, when there is loads of people starving, people fighting for the country etc who probably would moan at the food but can't afford to etc Sorry if I didn't make myself clear But if you have the money you can spend it on whatever you like, and if he is spending a lot of money on the box and it isn't up to a good standard then there is right to complain imo. The whole starving thing gets used in far too many instances when it isn't relevant however tragic and unfortunate it may be.
Wymsey Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 ah ok but for £10k a season the box holders expect good quality food and service.
AoWW Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Messi, I see your point - and I have to say I'm not gonna have sleepless nights over the poor souls in the Exec Boxes not having enough food, etc - I just thought it was a rather odd argument. Yes, we all know there are people in the world who don't have such privileges but that's hardly the thread starter's fault. For all you know he could donate vast amounts to charity when he's not enjoying the luxury(!) of his exec box. You could, just as easily, argue that people shouldn't fritter their money away on season/match tickets but should, instead, chose to support more 'worthy' causes. Calling him a tool because he has the money to afford some luxuries that others don't seemed a bit unnecessary, I felt.
Messi Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I agree with you, maybe I was abit over the top and off the point, apologies
AoWW Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I agree with you, maybe I was abit over the top and off the point, apologies S'ok - just don't do it again.
Messi Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I will make sure I look at it from both sides in future
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I agree with this guy. I've got a box at the Walkers, the City Ground, and Pride Park and I go to each one depending on who is higher in the league. Leicester is by far the poorest provider of all of these. From minute 1 to minute 55 when I leave to miss the traffic, I am subjected to the sort of service you would expect in a 4 star hotel, not a private box. I recall one occasion when I demanded the waiter bring me a Crostata Di Fichi E Lamponi. I know what you're thinking, how on earth could he get this wrong? Somehow he did manage to get it wrong, horribly wrong; he'd only forgotten to put the almond paste in. I nearly hit the roof. I've never had such a ghastly experience at either the City Ground or Pride Park, so why can't LCFC get it right? SORT IT OUT.

Cheese Me Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 I've never been in a box at the Walkers and don't have a massive burning desire to but never realised the cost before. £10,000 is a massive amount of money and more than I thought but then I tried to work out what it really meant. Presumably you get the box for every game including cup games (?). Assuming we get 2 home cup games on average plus 23 league games that works out at £400 a game and I think the poster before mentioned you get 12 people in a box so works at £33.33 per person per game. do you get free food and booze for that? If so doesn't sound quite so ridiculous and some of the criticism here is a bit harsh. Still rather be in the kop though.

Order a bottle of wine eg, you need to pay for them in advance via cheque/pay later scheme
carterfox90 Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 and we thought we had it bad on the concorses cant beat a cold pie!!!!!
Chrysalis Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 the box I was in cost 17k a year. and that was the season before milan tookover. we beat wolves 1-0 at home fryatt scored. although they may hold 12, there was 6 of us and booze was not inclusive. I am not rich and this was a present to me from a rich friend, so a one off experience however considering how much these guys pay it just seemed an off service. also this box was at the end and one of the smaller ones, I expect other boxes cost more.

Wymsey Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 if you are that unhappy with the pies why don't you go to the 'great' hall? They sell free chocolate bonbon biscuits there and tea. Surprised Mr.Top don't go in there at all due to this
