I am Rod Hull Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 that is why he is on radio one. Tis for da chavs...
z-layrex Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 He really winds me up. He thinks he's so trendy and cool but he doesn't know anything. 2 examples would be: -He listens to the ****ing Kaiser Chiefs. Who listens to the Kaiser Chiefs who isn't completley clueless? -He went on a rant how the Golf GTI is a boring car that wives make men buy. What a load of bollocks! I'd love a nice Golf like that. None of this would matter if he didn't love himself so much.
Salieri Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I stopped listening to Radio 1 recently and started listening to radio 2 in the mornings. Just to avoid listening to Moyles. Chris Evans is a million times more charming. I made the move to Radio 2 quite a while back, sign of getting old I reckon.
Webbo Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I made the move to Radio 2 quite a while back, sign of getting old I reckon. Young at heart.
Salieri Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Young at heart. I'd like to think so. Mentally I feel about 21 but physically.....I had no grey hairs until a few years ago, then along came the kids....

None of this would matter if he didn't love himself so much. He doesn't know the first thing about music. He was on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and he embarrassed himself by being unfunny and showing a complete lack of knowledge. At one point, Vic Reeves asked him, "Have you ever heard any music, Chris?" Plus, he never plays any music on his show. He hates music, and he cannot entertain - what the hell is he doing on the radio? As someone else said, "Disc jockey? Sausage jockey, more like." Couldn't agree more about the fvcking Kaiser cvnting Chiefs - fvcking bollocks! Couldn't agree more about the VW Golf GTI, either - who doesn't like them? I'll tell you who - that "fat oily pig in a dunce hat" - Mark Lamarr.
Jiggers the Fox Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 How long have we got? How long do you need! Don't get me wrong, i'm not a massive fan, just thought he was generally quite inoffensive.
Raw Dykes Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 How long do you need! Don't get me wrong, i'm not a massive fan, just thought he was generally quite inoffensive. He's incredibly smug. He clearly thinks he's "it". He makes Clarkson look like a thoroughly decent bloke, which is really saying something. Clarkson, whilst clearly a bellend, at least makes his extreme right wing comments with his tongue in cheek - Richard "Hamster" Hammond is like the school bully's ratty little sidekick, standing just behind him, giggling, and going, "Yeah!". Plus, whenever the hamster makes crude racial slurs, I can't help thinking he genuinely means it, and that he isn't just trying to shock or provoke the audience like I think Clarkson is. He's a dictionary definition of the word "Tosser". Anyway, both of these nobends look like absolute legends when compared with Chris Moyles. "Chris ****ing Moyles. What a ****." - Me.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 He's incredibly smug. He clearly thinks he's "it". The guys clearly doing something right though, considering he's maintained a Radio 1 slot for what, 10 years, and had a pretty long stint on the breakfast show, increasing the shows listener ratings? He 's also managed to find himself an interesting format of a quiz show on channel 4 that if you could take away your predispositioned dislike for the man, you could find watchable. He is the classic marmite character, but what is amazing is how many people that despise him must listen to his show to have such informed discussion on him? I'm sure Chris Evans was being called the same things when he was in the same position yet his detractors have lessened as he has moved across to radio 2. So Chris is opinionated and goes on long rants - well it makes a change, there's nothing else like him on radio 1, most of the presenters conform with the status quo of what is perceived as popular in the youth market. And with the current make up of the top 40, am I bothered if we don't get the obligatory 12 songs an hour - not really! Personally, I think Chris and his team, which is a large part of his show do a good job of providing an entertaining listen n the morning. I appreciate an alternative view and why people may be put off but what I would say is that it's far to easy to dislike things these days, challenge yourself to find things you like about the things you dislike - that is much more interesting!
Rincewind Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 I do not listen to him so I expect I cannot form an opion. One reason is because I am not a big lover of modern music but if as you say he does not play much that would make a difference. So that brings it to what does he do to fill the time? Talk about himself? phone ins? quizes? These could be interesting if done in the right way. If I get up early enough and remember I may give it a go then come back with a more informed opinion. I know a few years back the old type DJ's used to be criticised. DLT Tony Blackburn Steve Wright Gay Davies to name some. They had different styles. I liked DLT but some people I worked with said he taked too much. I liked his darts game. He was not too happy though when Noel Edmunds did a wind up on him. He took that game seriously. Steve Wright was cleverer than he was given cretit for agin the older people I worked with could not stand his off beat humour and the characters on the show. He didnt play much music either. I dont know if he does the same but I think he is able to play more of what he does like himself on Radio 2. The DJ's/presenters are restricted to a playlist on Radio 1. It could be something to the copyright law. The more a song is played the more royalties the BBC tpays out so the bosses tell them to fill time up with chatter. I have not watched his quiz show. May have seen the end of it. May beon when other things are on another channel.

I don't completely see it myself though. And for the records, i actually quite like Moyles, although he can be irritating when he wants to be. As said previously, a classic Marmite character.
Rincewind Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 I've seen Jeremy Clarkson and am not a fan of his He is rude to guests on Top Gear but I assume they know what he is like beforehand and his personna pulls in the audience. So while he does that e will be asked to do more and encouraged to keep up his image Besides I am not really interested in cars fst or slow cheap or expensive.
FuriousFox46 Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 The morning after we beat Leeds in 03/04... they played this jingle. "The Chris Moyles Show. Leicester beat Leeds 4-nil yesterday. International Radio 1." That was funny.
Darkon84 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Could be worse......Could be Jo fvcking Wiley. Now that is someone i genuinely despise. She thinks she invented music.
Jiggers the Fox Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Could be worse......Could be Jo fvcking Wiley. Now that is someone i genuinely despise. She thinks she invented music. Now this i can agree with!
gazfox9 Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Could be worse......Could be Jo fvcking Wiley. Now that is someone i genuinely despise. She thinks she invented music. Woah, lay off Jo Whiley!!! She played my changing track! Personally I quite like Moyles' show, I think it shows how entertaining it is when Scott Mills fills in in the mornings, bores me rigid and makes you realise how funny Chris Moyles' show is.
nothin2seehere Posted 22 August 2011 Posted 22 August 2011 Moyles? I fooking love marmite. 'Nuff Said.
