Benjaldinho Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 OK people , i know its only october and i know we not had the best start to the season but i reckon all things considered ( New Owners, Sven,possible signings) that we could be forgiven for looking at the playoffs, I just wondered what people think, and their reasons. My theory is every season the foxes always have a 6/7 game streak that is winless. Working on that i'd say that the winless streak has come early and we can look forward to the rest of the season. What do you lot think?

shailen Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 The quality of Svens signings have been immense and with the owners ready to give him an unlimited budget anything is possible, realistically we should be aiming for the play-offs. We are player wise possibly one of the best squads in the championship, so I do expect us to be there or thereabouts. Yeah lets hope the streaks over. And now we have a 6/7 game winning streak!

Leicester_Mad Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 We can make the playoffs but a lot needs to improve. Sven knows that though and is looking to change things each week. We need to start winning the majority of our home games and pick up what we can away. With Cardiff/Boro/QPR already gone at home there aren't many teams that i would fear coming to the walkers at the beginning of the season. Realistically we need another 60points to get the playoffs....as each game ticks by that will become more and more challenging and unrealistic unless we get on a bit of a run now

Sunderland were in a position like ours they went on to win the league. Extremely low point scoring year that season. 88 won the league, Cardiff and QPR are on much better ratio's atm. Personally I reckon no higher than 13th. The aim must be to have a squad at the end of the season full of talent for the 2011/2012 season.
Guest shearfox Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 If by Jan we are around 13th/14th in the league and buy well in Jan we could still make the playoffs. But it wouldn't be disappointing with the start we have had if we only manage around mid table. Just have to see how things pan out.

We should ALL expect a top 6 finish, simply because we did so last season and especially as a large amount of money is to be spent on improving the side in the Jan window. We need a whole new midfield and forward line, keeping just King and Dyer. The rest have massively under achieve and should get the boot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alpha Gifts & Awards Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 We shouldn't EXPECT anything, but be satisfied with our lot, we have no god given right to anything, sorry. ......but I think we are capable of winning 7/8 games back-to-back, thus we still have lots of time to mount a playoff challenge. Lets not put pressure on everyone, but yes lets be positive.
