Babylon Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 No it isn't, this guy was starting for the best team in Portugal during the 2008-09 season at 19 years old. Portugal U-21 international, Portugal are better than England, you think we could sign an England U21 international that cheap? At least we've a manager who had confidence to use him now and we have him for the rest of the season, and that was purely down to Sousa connections, we wouldn't have stood a chance otherwise. I'm sorry, there is no way on the planet the lad is worth that.
lcfcsnow Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 I'm sorry, there is no way on the planet the lad is worth that. Nearer to 15 than 1.5, that is for sure. <_<
The Doctor Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 Nearer to 15 than 1.5, that is for sure. <_< no - we'd be looking at 6-7 mill maybe 8 tops to sign him at the moment.

No way. Our under-21s seen off Portugal twice in the recent Euro Champs qualifiers. By the way the signing wasn't down to Sousa.....Phil Zahavi is Vitor's agent, the same guy who was tasked to flog us off.
lildave3 Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 I'm sorry, there is no way on the planet the lad is worth that. 15 million euros wouldn't be far off imo. I think he's a class act.
The Doctor Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 15 million euros wouldn't be far off imo. I think he's a class act. not quite note: 15m euros = 12.9m pounds.
Babylon Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 15 million euros wouldn't be far off imo. I think he's a class act. Before the last two games nobody would have paid £20 for him... now he's rated at £10/£15m It's not like he was even a regular starter for Benfica, you could probably buy their first choice centre back for that much.
lildave3 Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 not quite note: 15m euros = 12.9m pounds. Yeah I am aware of how much is it. Before the last two games nobody would have paid £20 for him... now he's rated at £10/£15m It's not like he was even a regular starter for Benfica, you could probably buy their first choice centre back for that much. We were told Benfica rated him at this price long before the last 2 games. When you take into account his age and the experience he's already gained, and the fact he's under 21 captain, why wouldn't they slap that price on his head? Even if only to ward off other clubs.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 It was Bert that mentioned the Benfica valuation before. Seems to be doing very well now he's been given a little string of games.
Donut Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 Im not joking, this guy's gonna set someone back at least £10 million He's awesome, youre gonna be seeing him in a Portugal shirt for a LONG time
