The Doctor Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 never had an aquarium but i'm considering having one installed in my bedroom floor once i've got my own place after uni. Sunken into the floor with about 5 foot of wall over the top of the floor.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 I've always wanted an aquarium. Let's have a look.
haraven Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Impressive setup there mate, I used to be an aquarium owner, but at the moment I don't have any running. That is, I still have 2 aquariums, but they are in the basement I've always had a thing for catfish, and was the proud owner of 3 Hypancistrus Zebra 4-5 years back. I've had everything from tiger barbs, silver sharks, clown fish, discus, many plecos and L-catfish and quite a few cichlids. Aquariums are great fun, quite tranquiling in a stressed day. I took down my setups last time I moved, and have not found the time nor inspiriation to set them up again - but I will in the future. Great hobby Post a picture of the setup?
crazylegs1984 Posted 15 November 2010 Author Posted 15 November 2010 camera stopped working so taken on the phone but good enough
dave_the_fox Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Very nice setup pal, makes my Rio 125 look like a gold fish bowl
Bellend Sebastian Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 Bloody hell, you could go for a swim in there. I'm well jealous, I need to get a bigger house. How many litres is that? I'm wondering how many times over my 70 litre tank could fit in yours. I reckon several
Jackirius Posted 15 November 2010 Posted 15 November 2010 I used to have a fairly big Jewel aquarium when i was younger, dad sold it though because i could never be arsed to clean it out.

Doh I used to have one of those stupid tube bubble lamp things (not the lava ones, the ones with water in) and I hatched a plan to grow a salmon in it. I was about 25
Wycombe Fox Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 I'm wondering how many times over my 70 litre tank could fit in yours. I reckon several Total tank size is the equivalent to 1360 litres so I guess that's just over 19 times!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 Total tank size is the equivalent to 1360 litres so I guess that's just over 19 times! Blimey, you wouldn't want that leaking in your lounge. Seriously, I'd love one of those. I'd have about 500 neon tetras in it
Poakey Posted 16 November 2010 Posted 16 November 2010 Great stuff. Always fancied a marine aquarium but sounds like too much work. They look great with all the coral.

crazylegs1984 Posted 16 November 2010 Author Posted 16 November 2010 Yeah it cost a fair few quid well worth bloody heavy though took 4 people to lift it, the glass is at least is at least a inch and a half thick. I would love to have 500 tetras in there but my cichlids would just gobble em up . I'm 6ft 2 and I could easily fit in there and crouch down and I could close the lid.
