davieG Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 From the Merc Sven-Goran Eriksson has revealed he is in talks to take Leicester City to his native Sweden for a pre-season tour. The City boss said the club was negotiating a mini-tournament against Gothenburg, Norwegian outfit Rosenborg and Russian side Zenit St Petersburg. "We are in talks at the minute about a tour of Sweden in July, but nothing is confirmed yet," said Eriksson. There is a long association between City and Sweden. Between 1971 and 1989, City toured Sweden 10 times, playing 39 times in various pre-season tournaments.
kam6 Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 im glad that he is looking into the future with our club!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 im glad that he is looking into the future with our club! Aye, kind of suggests that (for now at least) he's not just using City as a stepping stone to a bigger club.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Good way to re-kindle our traditional Scandinavian fanbase, and not that difficult for some of our more hardcore (and better off) supporters to get to if it's not a closed camp. Sounds good.
Lillehamring Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 can i just say :w00t: göteborg is four hours on the train from me... oh, and we should dick rosenburg
Brainy Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 That's actually pretty exciting, hopefully Sven's still around to take us.
Wymsey Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Any chance of Ulrika Johnson being a celebrity guest for the team?
Thracian Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 At last some signs that we are preparing properly for a close season and planning to play something other than Mickey Mouse matches.
Corky Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Aye, kind of suggests that (for now at least) he's not just using City as a stepping stone to a bigger club. There are no bigger clubs to go to Good to see Sven preparing and thinking ahead.
Guest Bilo Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 I quite fancy a European tour to treat myself after graduation. Never been to Sweden either. Or is this idea a little bit mental?

Far Post Gerry Posted 19 November 2010 Posted 19 November 2010 What about the big pre-season tour of Thailand? Few weeks on the beach in Samui, a couple of easy run outs against Bangkok FC and Chiang Mai United. A few monkey brain whiskeys and some ladyboy scares for a season's worth of dressing room banter. Perfect preparation I would've thought...
Ross-Kemp Posted 19 November 2010 Posted 19 November 2010 Sparky, naughty few days is a massive understatement. This has potential, long live sven !
