"Not good enough for Championship."

Can we nail this one once and for all?

Up until his injury last year he was among the top scorers in the division and on course for another glut. He clearly has the class at this level.

For a number of reasons he hasn't performed this season. But look at the other so-called strikers in the club and their record so far, including Vassell, who you'd expect to contribute with a few goals & assists even though he's played on the wing. None has a record to compare with Fryatt's.

The obvious conclusion is this - unless we bring in a new strker who actually scores goals for us then the best alternative is to try to rehabilitate Fryatt.

I think this picture sums everything up. Pearson knew how to get the best out of Fryatt. I have no doubt a move to Hull would get his career back on track.

I don't know why you people dislike Matty Fryatt. Since he got that injury last year I admit he's not be at his best performance.

BUT UNDERSTAND ME AS SOON AS HE FINDS HIS TOUCH HE WILL BE BACK SCORING GOALS.

I HOPE HE STARTS AGAINST NOTTINGHAM FOREST AS I RECKON THAT IS THE DAY MATTY FRYATT IS BACK!!

He won't even be here for that game.

7 of Fryatt's 11 league goals last season came in the first 8 matches of the campaign. In the next 20 games he scored 4 times.

An alternative conclusion to draw is that he was not on course for another glut at all, but had ridden his League One form early in the season only to see Championship managers work out pretty quickly how to shut him down.

None of our strikers can score goals consistently, how many times have people said, of our other strikers he doesn't score many but creates them for 'others' - other than King where are these 'others' who are scoring all these goalsdunno.gif

None of our strikers can score goals consistently,

:appl:

And that is the crux of this whole argument.

To get promotion you need to consistently score goals and win games (obvious I know) and with our current strikeforce, it ain't happening. Fryatt, Howard & Waghorn, those are our main strikeforce (I appreciate that Gally and Vassell could be included but Sven seems content to have them on the wings) And neither of those 3 are that key consistent goal-scoring striker we need to gain us promotion, Fratt & Howard have served us well but if we are serious about promotion then we need to get rid, Waghorn at the minute is still young so I'm willing to give him more time (probably next season at least as the other 2 had at least a 2 season run before this one when I've decided to get rid) to see if he shows improvement.

So that puts me firmly in the "out" camp.

Don't you think if Matty Fryatt

Showed resolve, went on a diet,

Faz soon would get him back on track,

Lean and hungry, sharp as a tack.

Sven's arm round shoulders, just a squeeze,

Played from the start, alongside Steve,

He'd score for fun, and after that,

You'd all put out the welcome Matt!

Great poem!!!! I shall raise a glass to his departure though will feel sorry for his army of fans who think he is simply the best!!!!!!! Hurry up new striker so we can conclude getting rid

According to LCFC World, Reading in talks with him. NOW we do need another striker!

In case you didnt know, fryatt wont be leaving UNTIL another striker is bought in.

I am scratching my head at some of the vocabulary to describe a mis-firing striker....talk about scapegoating. Some people need to grow up.

I seriously hope he leaves on loan and bags a few.
