dpjfox Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 i had a horrible feeling Weale migh make a stupid mistake with the kirkland saga preying on his mind
Captain... Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 off his line by a mile in last minute of the game is this on purpose as it is against his old club, i dont know but what i do know is that he isn't very good ESPEACIALLY WHEN HE LETS SIMPLE SAVES IN Seriously what the fook are you on about? Have you even seen the goal? Do you think it was his positional sense? The fact he was playing against his old club? Or maybe it was because he threw it directly to a Bristol player!!! Shocking throw from Weale, but he was trying to launch a quick attack in the last few minutes fooked it up, we lost 2-0 instead of 1-0. Not game changing like the penalty or the dreadful defending for their first goal. I wasn't at the game so I can't comment on anything else. I will say this though, Weale is not the best keeper in the league, but he is still a damn fine keeper, and until we get anyone else in just fooking support him and stop picking faults. Ok he is weak on long shots and his distribution is poor, but compared to some of our keepers over the past few years, and others in the league he is more than capable, not to mention he has been in goal for all of our clean sheets this season.
Libertine Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 Big Conrad wouldn't have done that. GYM BUDDIES.
Tilley Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 GYM BUDDIES. He can command a back four with that big, muscular, Irish frame of his. Who needs Kirkland?

sdb Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 He can command a back four with that big, muscular, Irish frame of his. Who needs Kirkland? we do! we have 1 ok keeper and 2 disasters. A fit Kirkland (yes that is an issue) is twice as good as anything we've got.
filbertway Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 Whoever let Pitman have that much space in our box from a corner is more at fault for the first goal than Weale was for the 2nd goal in my opinion. It looks like the ball almost slips as he's about to release it, the finish by Clarkson was also brilliant!

Anyway my point is not that Weale is the best keeper in the world, it is that you are criticising him for the wrong thing. HE THREW THE BALL TO THEIR PLAYER!!!! Questioning his positional sense is bizarre. His distribution is poor at best and he is dodgy on long shots, but he is generally a very solid keeper and I don't understand why you have singled him out as at fault for losing against Bristol.
Tilley Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 Funny that because we were very close to it last year with Weale. Very close and getting there is different. Arsenal are very close but they won't win a title with Fabianski or Almunia.
The Doctor Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 Very close and getting there is different. Arsenal are very close but they won't win a title with Fabianski or Almunia. they also won't get there with only one real out and out goal scorer (chamakh) - and i'd reckon the lack of goalscorers is a bigger hinderence than their keepers
Tilley Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 they also won't get there with only one real out and out goal scorer (chamakh) - and i'd reckon the lack of goalscorers is a bigger hinderence than their keepers Their attacking options are absolutely fine. Leicester's on the other hand.......
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 ive said it all along about weale, that he vary rarely makes a save week after week when ever i talk about the game i seem to be saying ' they've had 2 shots and scored 2 goals' etc, but never mind he will be a good sub keeper, with our problem looking set to be solved http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Leicester-City-set-sign-ex-England-goalkeeper-Chris-Kirkland-loan/article-2918431-detail/article.html Leicester City are expected to sign Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland on loan at the start of next week. According to reports in Lancashire, the former England goalkeeper has grown frustrated at his lack of opportunities at the DW Stadium and wants to join City to get first-team football. The Barwell-born keeper was the Latics' first-choice stopper until the arrival of Ali Al-Habsi from Bolton earlier this season and has been on the substitutes' bench for most of the current campaign. Latics boss Roberto Martinez is said to be keen on signing Al-Habsi permanently, and Kirkland does not want to play second fiddle. At 29, Kirkland wants regular first-team football and the Mercury understands City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, who regularly picked him for his England squads when he was manager but gave him only one cap, will offer it to him Eriksson is keen to streng-then all areas of his squad and has had two goalkeepers on trial. Ex-Bayern Munich keeper Michael Rensing was not offered a contract, while Cameroon keeper Joslain Mayebi is training with the squad. City are not short of options with Chris Weale the first choice with back-up from Conrad Logan and Carl Ikeme. Kirkland began his career at Coventry City and became the most expensive goalkeeper in British transfer history when he joined Liverpool for £6 million in 2001. Injury and competition meant he made just 25 appearances in five years for the Anfield club. In 2005, he went on loan for a season to West Brom where he made 10 appearances and broke into the England squad again, before injury struck once more. However, he joined Wigan and rebuilt his career, winning the club's players' player of the season in 2008 and made 130 appearances for the Latics. City assistant manager Derek Fazackerley said earlier this week that City were likely to add to their squad before the loan window closes on Thursday, and Kirkland looks likely to be one of the additions.
C.J Posted 21 November 2010 Posted 21 November 2010 he was lobbed from distance and complete dick head just bring in chris kirkland dispite injury prone What a brilliant idea, bring in an injury prone keeper! My opinion, is that weale is our best shot stopper since Paul Henderson. Fair enough, his kicking's abit shit at times. But every keeper has some aspect of his game that isn't perfect. He's made two mistakes since he's been here, apart from Derby last season he was solid. This season with all the changes and rumours aswell as the start to the season it's bound to affect him abit. He'll recover from this, he's still the first choice keper for me.

paddy Agyemang Posted 21 November 2010 Author Posted 21 November 2010 Funny that because we were very close to it last year with Weale. Tis a shame he can't save penalties, actually...diving the right way might be a start.
