We are finally warming to the Walkers

I'm sure this topic has been covered before, but I was thinking about how much better, on the whole, we seem to be at home these days.

Looking at stats, the four seasons after relegation from the Premier League before our drop to League 1, we played 92 home league matches and lost 31. A third of the matches saw the visitors take the points.

Since then, we've played 56 home league games (two seasons plus 10 this campaign) and we've only lost 7 of those.

It's taken a while, but we seem far more confident and comfortable in our own surroundings.

The atmosphere still leaves a lot to be desired. I'm too young to have seen a game at Filbert Street but I know other teams create better atmospheres then we do, I think it could be because SK1 and the Kop are so far apart and every where else is for families or 'non-singers'. I love the fosse boys for their commitment, we just need to get the whole ground rocking now. But on the pitch we're doing well.

I was suprised that we have only lost 2 at home this season (both under Sousa) and currenly unbeaten under Sven. Filbert Street was by far a better atmosphere but I think this is the case with all the bowl type stadiums.

Theres not many home grounds that have a good atmosphere.

I think the Fosse Boys are making the difference!

The kop were brilliant last night especially when they did ''jump up if you love Leicester'', good atmosphere. If we can be the catalyst for a few songs then that's brilliant but its the whole of the Kop that causes the better atmosphere for a great time so lets all keep it up.

The problem with the atmosphere at the walkers is far from a problem with our fans as such and is much more of a nationwide thing. Sure there are old stadiums that may be better but all of the new grounds will lack that intense atmosphere that their predecessors had. That's just one of those things that you have to accept, at least when a team moves from old to new anyway.Apart from finance its one of the main reasons teams like spurs and pool don't have new stadium I'd imagie, even though the effect is less for them because they wil sell out almost every fixture. All you can do is your own little bit to help and hope that others do too.

Good to see our home form improving but i'd take it with a pinch of salt since most of it will be down to our fortunes in general, for example in league 1 we were bound to win more games at home. I'll bet if you took our away results and compared them in the same manor you'd see an improvement as well.

I can't think of many grounds ive been to where i've thought wow that home support was amazing.

Most grounds just consist of 1 group of standers who sing, with the occasionally whole ground getting involved.

Yeah the Walkers has been a bit of a fortress for a while, I always back us at home.

Don't get me started on atmosphere.

Away is good. Bar Cov.

Very Controvesial this comment, but someone pointed out to me that Leeds Utd,( who have the best away support easily), when you go a Leeds away game, about 80 odd % of people are lads aged 18 - 25. Not many Women, Kids, Old people etc. I would imagine this is partly because trouble follows and looks for Leeds, wether the days are gone or not Leeds has a reputation and this puts people off.

Home is utterly embarrasing. Last night, WOW. 1-0 against local rivals.

Partly due to all the Old people and families in the Kop.

Nothing wrong with being old, I'm getting quite good at it. Hopefully I will get a lot of practice perfecting it.

Im not saying theres anything wrong with that :P It comes to us all.

I've never known a decent club's Kop where only the back 3 rows stand.

Just stating something that I'd never really thought of with regards to Leeds.

Trust me there are lots of Leeds fans my age who are quite happy to join their traveling section and encourage their reputation as 'jolly nice chaps welcome everwhere'
