Hello everybody.

Just wondering how Andy King is progressing. Am i right in thinking he's captain at the moment?

I've watched him progress at Wales Senior, U'21 level and below, and in my eyes is looking really good for the future.

Although i imagine you have the best view on his progress seeing him in action every week

Cheers.

he's captaining the side but Matt Oakley is still the captain, this season has really been the making of King so far, he's become our best player and probably our main goal threat and he seemed to relish the responcibility of the captaincy when it was 1st given to him also

He's captaining the side in absence of our club captain Matt Oakley.

A real attacking threat losing his markers in midfield and drifting into the box late. Good in the air, great finishing technique and can hit them from distance (Check Leeds 2-2 highlights :P).

Gets a bit of stick on here for being a bit anonymous when the midfield has a battle on its hands but definitely a game winner.

Has made enormous strides over the last eighteen months, to be fair to him. I've said a number of times on here (to disbelieving ears) that he'll struggle to make an impact for us with the like of Ledley, Ramsey, Collison and Edwards already competing for places in one of the few positions on the field in which we genuinely have options.

But who knows? Kingy's got a habit of drifting out of games and becoming somewhat anonymous in a battle - which isn't such a problem for City because we've the likes of Abe and Wellens to do the graft and let him push on, but at international level?

I wish Kingy the best for my club and my country and I'll always be behind the lad - massively hope we hold on to him for another couple of seasons as he can only continue to improve. Just don't think he's completely ready for the seniors now.

Superbly. He keeps progressing, from being half decent in league one to being one of the top scorers from midfield in the championship. Every now and then a game comes where he does nothing spectacular, and many say he's quiet, but more often than not, if the ball falls in or around the area, Kingy'll be there, and he's the first player most City fans would want to be there, best finisher at the club I reckon, despite being a midfielder.

All in all, love 'im

Yer i've noticed he drifts in and out of games. For wales against Switzerland he was in my eyes outstanding in, despite the scoreline, we bossed the game, and were let down by senior players in defence. Namley Ashley Williams.

Back to King though, and im delighted he's serving you well and improving as a player. You will do well to hold onto a goalscoring midfielder though, they are diamonds in this day and age. Despite this, i think he will be best suited staying at Leicester, especially under the expierence management of Sven.

I don't think any of our players were necessarily outstanding against Switzerland. We deserved more from the game but really more because they were equally poor. We had a patch of about twenty odd minutes when we looked genuinely threatening and, certainly, King was one of our best players at the time - I think he much outshone Vaughan, to be fair.

*** I think that we more than matched them in midfield for long periods. They are a decent side, man for man much better than us. Still to this day have no idea why i travelled but hey, thats football! I think our strongest team can give England a surprise or two, but its gonna take luck to get something out of that game. ******

Do you think King is better in a 3 man midfield? Where he can roam a bit more, and others dig into tackles?

I seen his goal Vs Leeds, wow. Also noticed that he scores alot of headers. 9 goals from midfield, could you see him being swept up by a Prem team at this stage?

What would you value his transfer at.

I'd have thought there would be Prem teams interested, but would like to think he'd stay loyal, he seems to love playing his football here.

It's generally thought that our midfield isn't up to having just two in the centre, we get walked over with just King and Wellens in there, which is for a few reasons, so yes, he's shining in our current formation, and can score all types of goals, from long rangers to headers to one-on-ones.

Mate, I've been doing it on Foxes Talk for about five years - they're used to it.

You travelled for the same reason I had a home debenture through years and years of misery. You're a Welsh football fan, you're biologically engineered to withstand massive disappointment for the odd moment of excitement.

Years of bullshit to see Bellers slot home against the Azzuri? Worth it.

Andy King is amazing. I can see him becoming a legend mentioned alongside Linekar, Izzet and Walsh.

Prem teams want him, but I wouldn't sell him, they'd have to offer us 10 million + for me to be even thinking about the offer. He will continue improving and will next season, probably be our official club captain. Hes a star in the making.

Like people have already said, he will often be absent for spells of a game but then he'll crop up unmarked somewhere in and around their box and score. Considering our forwards aren't exactly prolific at the minute it's probably very important that we've been getting some goals from him.

If he was more involved in other areas of play apart from making runs & shooting he'd be unbelievable, still a valuable asset though.

Kingy's still maturing as a player. His great asset is in being so difficult to mark when ghosting in for late goals a la Martin Peters. He is also outstanding at simply retaining possession with quick accurate passes and he's good at seeing the runs of people. Other assets include a willingness to make the run that creates space for others and a more than useful ability in the air and to help out constructively in defensive situations.

However he remains a work in progress. He tends to pace himself so carefully that he rarely uses the little turn of pace he has got and which could get him some more goal opportunities on occasions or get him away from the increasing problem of specific close marking. He also needs to make himself more available when the going gets tough and when he thinks there's no space to be found.

I sympathise with the problem he has but one secret is to take the marker into negative places so that team-mates can fill the hole vacated. Another thing is to get somewhere dangerous where just a touch might get you a goal but the big thing is to keep moving and keep the marker moving, thus posing him constant decision-making problems about the space he'll inevitably leave.

Altogether though, the lad's a gem because guys who are versatile, intelligent, can pass quickly and consistently and who can get double figures in goals every season from midfield are valuable as goalscoring wingers.

He has come on so much since his debut a few seasons ago against Wolves i think (a drab 0-0 draw) where he didnt look out of place but was obviously nervous etc - he is now getting better and better with every season in the first team etc. As other people have already mentioned above he can go "missing" in games but he will get better on this front IMO in the future and lets be honest 9 goals already in a (sorry to say it) struggling mid-table team says it all. Long Live KING POWER :scarf::cool:

I think the best comparison for his style on the pitch is Lampard as he's a decent passer and seems to always time his runs into the box to perfection, he can also hit them from distance too, which I wish he'd do a little more

I wouldn't say King is awesome. He is a good player, and he scores important goals for us. However, his inconsistancy is a problem, as well as not getting stuck in enough.

His passing is ok and his shooting/finishing is quality but he needs to be constistant every game for Leicester City, as well as himself, in terms of trying to make the Premiership.

Tell me if I'm wrong but didn't he score on his debut in a 1-2 defeat against Southampton?
