MikeyT Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Hello. Does anybody know where I can find out how many corners we've had this season please? Its around 240? Thanks. Think Stringer said 250 on Saturday, but not sure. Maybe worth tweeting him or contacting foxblogger.
phillthefox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 I heard someone at swansea say it was around the 300 mark, but again cant be 100% accurate will com etoday with bamba and hobbs :sge:
cc_star Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 There's a threadon here about it already... Sure it was over 260 & that was a while ago
davieG Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 This site gives average corners as 7.2 for home games and 6.7 for away games - http://www.simplesoccerstats.com/ It gives corners per game That covers the league games before Hull - 24 (12/12) Based on that average that's 86/7 at home and 80 away = 166. Which seems to match a figure of 150 I saw the other week on another site, so not as many as some seem to think.
Ashley Posted 3 January 2011 Author Posted 3 January 2011 Cheers for the replies guys. I want to see what the odds would be of us scoring within a certain number that's all. It has to happen sometime? Surely?
Ashley Posted 3 January 2011 Author Posted 3 January 2011 Double post, sorry. What is exactly scoring from a corner? Cross in, head in? Goal. Cross in, volley in? Goal. Cross in, headed out, volleyed/shot back in? Goal.

I would assume only two options count Direct from the corner where the corner taker is accredited with the goal First touch from the corner kick where the corner taker is accredited with the assist.

Dylan Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Sure I heard Stringer say 237 or something around that on commentary at Hull.

Think it's because people are getting mixed up between how many corners we've had this season and how many corners it has been since we scored goal. I trust your stats for the former and I don't think Dylan is far wrong on the latter.

I'd consider a goal from a flick-on or a scramble to count. but if the ball is cleared then that's it.

I was thinking from a betting perspective, bookies would have to have quite strict criteria to avoid confusion any thing beyond what i suggested is going to be open to arguments.

Bookies - Anything to avoid a pay out I was looking more from a Subbuteo perspective
davieG Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Bookies - Anything to avoid a pay out I was looking more from a Subbuteo perspective Just had a quick google and can't find any betting options for scoring from a corner, after this discussion I can see why.
themotivator Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 i counted 231 from bbc match reports including cup games. not sure how accurate that is. im no steven hawking. was a bit tedious, i'm not sure why i did it. just excited about going to see leicester smash swansea today.
