dandannieldanok Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 The bloke is undeniably a tit but he's a likeable tit and he's definitely grown on me. I also like his passion for Derby, and although he's never denied that he's more than happy to pick up a good wage every week, you can see he's genuinely not just at Derby for the money. And I hope he continues his work in the media after his career is over.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Reading his book on the way to my holiday tomorrow....
Fox You Forest Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 The bloke is undeniably a tit but he's a likeable tit and he's definitely grown on me. I've gone the opposite way, used to like him but absolutely can't stand the **** now.
Unit Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Think he was at the waterstones in town today signing his new book
Finchy Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 LAD. Tackle of the season to be fair. Desperately looking for a video of the bit on the football league show last season when Claridge completely owned Savage. Anyone remember it? Savage kept mentioning teams that had beaten Derby and Claridge's timing was perfect when he said "Who hasn't beaten Derby this year?" Sav didn't take it well at all, it was fantastic.
Ultra Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Think he was at the waterstones in town today signing his new book He was. There was a decent turnout of folk to see him. The book's an entertaining read, though it doesn't tell us too much new about his time at City. We may see Sav in Leicester a bit more during the season, as he's been invited to do charity work in the city. His dad suffers from dementia and therefore he has a particular interest in the Forget-me-not Appeal. (chaired by yours truly)

That was hilarious, definately need a video of that.
Alexikokopops Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 The man's a complete arse, but still manages to amuse me from time to time. He's a bit more interesting than the majority of football pundits out there.
danielpholt Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 Gotta say that i love the chemestry between himself and Fletcher on 606 on a Saturday Evening, its a brilliant listen at work. I happen to think he talks a lot of sense at times, he's just a bit..big headed about everything. Seems like a decent chap though.
ousefox Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 I don't mind him really. He's done well for himself considering he is a very average footballer and i'll certainly be reading his autobiography.

Bryn Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 For the love of GOD take this thread down, if he sees it he will eventually spout off somewhere that we have threads dedicated to him all over the shop. He's become even more of a willy puller than ever, judging by the extracts from his book in the Sun his life has been filled with incidents where he's acted the cunt and then tried to justify it tenuously. And he's absolutely fcking everywhere at the moment. I love listening to 5Live on the way back from a game, but last Saturday he was co-presenting and three quarters of the bleeding show was people ringing in to arse-lick him, it was disgusting. Not helped by the only similar alternative on talksport was presented by Stan Collymore, who, good player as he was, is also a complete nob-jock.
MikeyT Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 I'm kind of somewhere in the middle between liking him and hating him, no denying he's a bit of a twit though.

To be fair, someone did ring in an start accusing him of almost single handedly turning football into the game of the devil. Now i know what you're saying about a large amount of the calls being directed towards him, but thats really not his fault. I'm guessing he has very little to do with the calls that actually get through to the presenters.
sdb Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 he's a bit of a moron but at least he kinda knows it. that video in the 1st post is horrific though. even he's embarrassed when he realises what he's doing half way through...not that he stops mind.
GLC Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 finished the book today, not a bad read tbh, he still has passion for the game. I think he can be a dick, but he wears his heart on his sleave when he's playing, which is rare in todays game. Plus he was a great signing for us and played well
Syko Posted 8 November 2010 Posted 8 November 2010 As he could be returning on Saturday (but if he gets booked on Tuesday he will be suspended) will you applaud Robbie or be booing him? I think I may take the unusual step of booing and applauding him.
Finnegan Posted 9 November 2010 Posted 9 November 2010 If he gets anything he'll probably get booed. Sav is one of the few players that can actually get booed by people that still hold some affection for him (not that I would.) He's a pantomime villain and he absolutely loves it, really. I think he was a fantastic servant to the club, though, great player while he was here and I think he's a terrific character for the sport. In an age when you've got the likes of Drogba and Ronaldo engaging in serious gamesmanship, being all kinds of deceitful, it makes Robbie Savage look like a saint really. He's hard working, committed and a pretty straight-up, honest guy. I like him, always have and always will.
