Guest Bilo Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Right, as a neutral I'm not for or against the fosse boys, I'm in my 40's and sit towards the back in g2, but what I would like to say is yesterday they were singing all match and sounded quite loud, just a bunch of lads who want to go to a footie match and have a good time. Surely the more noise the better? Fair play to them. By the way, what was the 'birch' doing with you lads before the game? Thanks for the positivity mate, it was a good day yesterday all round and not a bad turnout compared to what we've had lately. The Birch came up to see a lady who'd been to a recent meet-and-greet with the players and was rushed along, missing the players. Her husband has supported us all along so has had meetings with the Birch and we had a few photos taken with him while he was up there. Brilliant bloke.
Houdini Logic Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Can we not choose a celebration where we still get to watch the game?
AoWW Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 We need to adopt 'oops upside your head' - you can be seated, still facing the action and us oldies from the prawn sandwich brigade might even know the moves!
Zingari Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 We need to adopt 'oops upside your head' - you can be seated, still facing the action and us oldies from the prawn sandwich brigade might even know the moves! mystery of broken pelvis solved
The Doctor Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 on the subject, i laughed a bit at this article in a paper in midweek. West Ham supporters have considered adopting the poznan as a goal celebration. Manchester City fans turn their backs to the pitch and jump up and down when Roberto Mancini's team score. West Ham fans, who can't bear to watch their team, are half way there. All they need now is a goal
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 We need to adopt 'oops upside your head' - you can be seated, still facing the action and us oldies from the prawn sandwich brigade might even know the moves! God I love prawns

Sparky Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 I been upgrading to the posh seats since the Donny game and am fuming that i can't get a prawn sandwich in the great hall for love nor money. Ill be writing to Top about this.

Ill be writing to Top about this. A prawn sandwich isn't an actual sandwich with prawns in, it's more a state of mind. A higher plain of being, if you will. Although I have heard that they are thinking of selling pies with them in
m00nie Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 We need to adopt 'oops upside your head' - you can be seated, still facing the action and us oldies from the prawn sandwich brigade might even know the moves! but they did it first... we would be copying them.. see they got told to sit down durin it though.. and people say only our fans are vicitimised
MattyFromLE Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 We need to adopt 'oops upside your head' - you can be seated, still facing the action and us oldies from the prawn sandwich brigade might even know the moves! Top class!
1964FOX Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Example please? Banning someone for 5 games for sitting in the wrong seat without being allowed to put your side of the story before a panel like normal. Oh and by the way which section of the ground do your steward in?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 The majority of celebrations/chants are bound to be copied from somewhere or other. What I didn't like was the fact that we copied the Poznan directly off Man City, thinking it was hilarious to do so- Despite the fact that a Man City fan specifically came on here telling us why they were going to do it- (Neil Young). To me that showed a lack of respect and in a way embarassed ourselves IMO. And no I'm not an old fart prawn sandwhich brigade bloke.

And you've not listened to the Man City fans either, who were dead pleased we did it as well and have said numerous times that they encourage the fact that it's catching on. They copied it off Lech Poznan remember, so if we were taking the piss out of Man City, they were taking the piss out of Poznan. And they didn't just do it for Neil Young, they've been doing it every week since they played Poznan a few months a go.
ACF Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Says the man throwing his dummy out screaming "we did it first, we did it first boo hoo". How old are you, 16? The reason people didn't copy you is because you are viewed as lame kids by most (like it or not)... And it's not surprising with your attitude towards other fans. I'm not fcking spitting the dummy. I'm stating the bleedin' obvious. This is MY attitude, nothing to do with them, as I've said about 3 times in this thread already.
ACF Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Think he is you know. I really fail to believe anything ACF says on the matter. He's from Australia, probably not been to The Walkers for seasons, and has just a few youtube videos to go on to form an opinion. Giving it the big one from Australia over the internet. Pathetic. I hope my sarcasm has been noticed. Fook me, I was about to write a long reply aswell. Hey, I obviously have nothing better to do than giving it the big one ove the internet where I'm on the losing side and I'm gunna get slated for it.
milan_foxes Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 It did look quality! I sit in N1 and a few of us tried, but it's so dead round us.
ACF Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 So people think it looks a bit rubbish when there are 25 people doing it, but when an entire away end does it and fans realise it's how good it can look it managed to change people's minds? My word, that's a shocker. Next you'll be telling me all football fans don't go around watching videos of Eastern European football teams on You Tube in there spare time. And for the record, this isn't an anti-Fosse boys, just an anti-insulting-people-who-don't-seem-to-understand-that-people-might-change-their-opinion-on-something-when-the-see-it-being-done-the-way-it's-meant-to-be-done-rather-than-25-people-at-the-back-of-the-stand. Rolls off the tongue Hey Kokopops, did you know all football fans don't go around watching videos of Eastern European football teams on You Tube in there spare time? I'm arguing with the fact that minds we changed so quickly, and people just started bumming the Grecque. When they did it, it was passed off as 'Something way to European for Leicester, We're in England, innit?' It's just so double-standardy.

davieG Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 People who are silent aren't really getting behind he team as much as those who are making noise are they. I'm not being elitist, I had to sit in a quieter part of the ground the other week because my mate was injured, and in that particular game I was not supporting the team as much as those who were singing. Again, not saying those who sing are better fans but they are better supporters. Because the players are lifted by a crowd getting behind them with noise. And yet it's those vocal fans that resort to booing the team and chanting for other players not in the team well it could hardly be those that make no noise so hardly worthy of being classed as better supporters.

Some of them do but now you are generalising. I stand and chant every game and have never booed a player unless it's blatantly obvious that they are not trying. There are some that ONLY stand up and say anything when they are slating someone, so that works both ways.
