Wellens has been our best player FACT!

Oh shit! now you've said "fact" in capital letters you must be true (not that I disagree with you)

How anyone can slag Wellens off when Gallagher gets worshipped is a joke.

Wellens always gives 100% and can play the ball around the park like a genius at times .. Even when he's not heavily involved in the game his general work in central midfield like winning the ball or helping track back when the opposition is attacking is brilliant.

Gallagher gets praised for his odd decent ball in to the box, or the fact he's scored a penalty. When in reality his form is so inconsistant from one game to another that the majority of the time he's just a liability.

Anyhoo, the thread was about King and he deserves all the credit he gets. The lad's quality!

I'm surprised people are taking this thing seriously, it needs to be taken at face value for what it is.

It's all down to statistics so of course it isn't ever going to be a totally accurate account of who the best players in the league are in terms of total value they add to the team.

Wellens should be in the top 100 no doubt since there is on average room for over 4 players per team, but then in terms of overall contribution I think King is a little too high up.

It could be that all the bum love for him is not actually justified. Yes he has had a good couple of months but his performances before then were woefully short of the quality required at Championship level hence why he is not in the list. :dunno:

Gallagher gets worshipped? Where exactly?

Gallagher gets worshipped? Where exactly?

That's what I was thinking.

I've given him what I feel is well deserved praise recently, but I'm still not a massive fan and apart from the "technically gifted" bandwagon, he is hardly worshipped.

The six calculations which generate the Actim Index are:

Calculation 1 – Assesses a player's contribution to a winning team, based on points won by the team when he has appeared

Calculation 2 – Assesses a player's performance in each game by allocating points for actions that positively contribute to a winning performance such as shots, tackles, clearances and saves. It also takes points away from players for negative actions such as yellow/red cards and shots off target

Calculation 3 – Allocates points based on time on the pitch

Calculation 4 – Allocates points for goal scorers

Calculation 5 – Allocates points for assists

Calculation 6 – Allocates points for clean sheets

That probably explains the absense of Wellens. He's been absolutely quality, but he does get booked quite often and his shooting is normally quite wayward (when he shoots at all), so that's probably whats counted against him in this Index. If successful passes counted, he'd probably be in it.

Only one player in the whole list?

Wellens & Abe have been better since after Christmas which is when we've remained unbeaten & apart from Hart's clanger King's contribution looks to have dried up

List = joke

Please tell me you're not writing him off already

Probably something to do with how much we've chopped and changed the team as well, King has been one of few players who has been close to ever present. Less good players than some of ours will have been penalised simply for not appearing enough.

Wellens isn't in there because no-one notices the dirty work. King pops up with goals and assists, where wellens is the graftes and mainly gets assists.

Where it's nice to be noticed it could a blessing in disguise that most of them are going un-noticed - Better for us.
