Going up ? Feel of positivity !

I have a real positive feeling at present about the team, I know we need to sort our away form out but I think that is about to change on Tuesday. With the side now starting to look a little more settled and the addittion of a couple signings in the transfer window I really think we will push on now. On paper I think we must be one of the best teams in the league if not the best !!! Our full backs are going to frighten teams going forward, and with the midfield boys bossing games and Vassell & the Yak up front id say confidence is going to go from strength to strength.

Most teams will not be looking forward coming to the Walkers between now and the end of the season.

What are everyones thoughts ? Do you think we can push on ?

couldnt agree more.. thats why i hate looking on here to see people be-moaning our current position.. play offs are in touching distance.. now please go back to say september... did you expect us to be here right now i didnt sousa fooked up sven came in had to do what he could with what he had ... and he has worked it right and got us were we are now... the man is blessed i for one would be happy with finishing just outside play offs this year considering how we started... if we make the play offs sven deserved a lenthy contract even so if i was chairman and we didnt make it i would still try to keep hold of him and try and sign up these loanees yes it means shattering the wage budget but **** it if it meant topping the league in may 2012 and getting up to 90 million it would all pay off... .. if naughton and both yakubu love working with sven so much i think theres a possibility they may sign up permanatly yakubus already said he loves working with sven and the boys and imo we need him.

Your spot on Asherz. As for the moaning you even get crap like this http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=70737

Why not just get on Sven's back n piss him off like we did MON to start with.

I still feel with a good run and others dropping points we could be pushing hard on second spot.

We have the best squad on paper, and the important thing is our team is playing as a team recently. Sven hasnt gone and bought superstars, but good professionals who work for the team. Like yak, vassell and naughton all good team players

Definately , the thing is you always look at 6th place and the points difference as that is your first goal, although this year the points difference between automatic and playoffs is minimal , I think if we take it a game at a time and string a few more wins together then not only are you on the brink of the playoffs but possibly automatics. Once you have momentum at this stage you will have such a strong phycological advantage over the teams around you.

I think there will be a bit of a shake up at the top.

QPR - Thought they might be fading a little but they will be there or there abouts, actually have a solid team when you take a look at it and have some very experienced players

Norwich - Expected them to fade off a while ago but to be fair they have done well, very good going forward. Have been on decent form all season, surely due a bad spell soon. Think they will be 6th or 7th

Cardiff - We obviously know these well, good team again and as usual thought they were dead certs for automatics but they will always be inconsistant which might see them in the playoffs again.

Swansea - Not sure about these guys, pretty solid team but I think they might slightly start to fall off and will be hit and miss if they get in the playoffs

Forest - Good run of form at the right time had me thinking they might push on to automatics, then again I was looking at their team yesterday and its not actually that good.

Leeds - Solid team , remind me a little of us under Pearson. Think its to soon for them and will just miss out

I think Watford and Millwall will both drop to mid table

I think the following chasing pack will all come into form and push for the top 6: Leicester, Burnley, Reading, and possible Hull

My hopeful and slightly optimistic prediction

QPR

Leicester

Forest

Cardiff

Norwich

Reading

Swansea

Burnley

Leeds

Hull

2nd is a bit optimistic, I will be more than happy with scrapping 6th place on the last day of the season. With Norwich coming 3rd, will set that up nicely. Still think Sven will need to bring in a bit more depth into the squad, Another CB, Midfielder and if Ricardo/Given isn't coming a new keeper, I like Weale but I believe that if we are to propel up the league we will need a quality keeper.

I think finishing in the top 2 might be a bit optimistic but if we go on a good run then who knows...

I think QPR will do enough to go up automatically. I think it'll be between Cardiff & Forest for the other automatic spot, possibly Swansea as well. I think Norwich & Leeds will both fall away but will still be in the mix for the playoffs. Reading are a good side as well so I wouldn't write them off.

I'd like to think we'll make the playoffs though & I think we've got that extra bit of fire-power this year compared to last so hopefully we can finish the job this time around

Yes it is very optimistic , I would be happy with the playoffs - who wouldnt with the way we started. I have always had a feeling that something will come down to goal difference and we will look back at the Portsmouth game, hope im wrong but I can imagine it.

Really hope im not eating my words after Tuesday, although Sheff Utd are rubbish we have them at a bad time with Micky Adams taking over , always a bad time to play someone, just like it was with Preston. I havent seen the stats but I cant remember Bramell Lane being a good place for us over the years.

Come on Leicester !!!!!!!

I'd just love someone to find the comments made by 'Supporter's Chief' Cliff Ginetta after Sven had been appointed.

Same for anyone who said it was a 'joke.'

Hope he doesn't read this as he told me on Facebook just before Christmas he was getting fed up of the pressure that the fans gave him about his opinions regarding lcfc in the Leicester Mercury online and therefore has dropped out of commenting for the Mercury and only does it occasionally now.

Think its too late a tad for us to go up now as the period while Sousa in charge was too long and had big effects on player performances and morale levels during that time.

If you extrapolate the current 8 game form table and run it for the next 16 games (yes I know this is perhaps unlikely but it does indicate current performance levels of all sides) then our current form, though better than several of the top sides, would not be enough to get us into the top six let alone the top 2. We would infact be in 11th place 4 points off the play offs with two games to go.

We need to be averaging at least two points per game from here on in or hope that at least 5 of the top 10 perform considerably worse than they are now over the rest of the season.

Not saying we can't do it but the odds are against us. Here's hoping though.

too late imo, and we're assuming our away form improves dramatically. i can see us finishing 7th/8th. Our start under PS was just so appalling. fingers crossed tho!

listen, swearing is fine and little wum every now and again is always good for a laugh.. but.... there is no need to debase things by bringing the supporters chief in to the conversation. For god sake dont you care about the children who might be on here!!!!!

Im feeling much more positive than i was in December but i do still feel we will struggle to get in the play-offs (mainly cus of the Sousa era) as most other clubs around us have games in hand and were still 4 points off the play-offs have won 4 and drawn 1 of our last 5 games (think we need to keep this run going for another 5 to 10 games to get anywhere near really. Heres hoping im wrong though. Up the Foxes :scarf:

As Sven and many of the players say, every game is like a cup final, we really need to win every game. ( I know this is not likely)

However after a gritty win over Sheffield lets see how we do in the next three games.

We also have to play QPR, Norwich, Cardiff and Forest away from home, so to overtake them will really have to beat them!

Think we can do it though, love the optimism around the club at the moment!

Up the foxes :scarf:
