Guest BlueBrett Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Blimey! Game needed that. The standard had been so poor up to that point.
StanSP Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 It was a good hit. Think we all know who he learns off at Man Utd!
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2011 Author Posted 8 February 2011 What strikers do Wales have on the bench? Vokes, Easter and Eastwood. <_<
Guest BlueBrett Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Why does Earnshaw get picked ahead of Bellamy? Speed not like him or something? Or has he retired from Internationals>
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2011 Author Posted 8 February 2011 Why does Earnshaw get picked ahead of Bellamy? Speed not like him or something? Or has he retired from Internationals> Withdrawn from the squad for fitness reasons, which is a complete crock of shit. If you're fit enough to play for club you're fit enough to play for country. Ramsey? Fair enough, recovering from a major leak break. But Bellers? Ugh. End of the day, it's a friendly. It's a shame because the tournament had good potential but nobody's taking it seriously. BBC website isn't even giving it any attention.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Yeah he looked fit enough when playing 90 minutes and scoring from 25 yards against Swansea the other day. Im surprised nobody has given a shit about the tournament. Hasn't happened for years I would have thought it would get loads of hype. No money or significant prestige involved I suppose and nobody is arsed about playing for pride anymore.
Fox You Forest Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Did that Robson-Kanu win a competition to play in this game?
Stevosevic Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Did that Robson-Kanu win a competition to play in this game? He's been awful.
StanSP Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Why is Hennessey standing virtually behind the wall at that free-kick? Easy-pickings for Fahey there.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Were Wales favourites to win this game before kick-off?
Kenners Posted 8 February 2011 Posted 8 February 2011 Were Wales favourites to win this game before kick-off? I doubt it. I think they're the lowest in the fifa rankings by quite a bit.
Finnegan Posted 9 February 2011 Author Posted 9 February 2011 Were Wales favourites to win this game before kick-off? I imagine we're wooden spoon favourites, us or Scotland. Like I said, you're all seriously under-estimating Northern Ireland, they're a tidy side. Their players might not be any better than maybe ours or Scotland's but unlike the rest of us they're well organized and well motivated. But yeah you're right about nobody just wanting to play for pride any more, it's a bit of a shame. They should have waited and done all of the games at the end of the season, I think. PS: Robson-Kanu is fucking terrible.

PS: Robson-Kanu is fucking terrible. Why is this though? I doubt the personnel or staff of the NI squad is any better than Wales' or Scotland's.
Finnegan Posted 9 February 2011 Author Posted 9 February 2011 You tell me. But their results compared to ours don't lie.

PS: Robson-Kanu is fucking terrible. Interesting you say that. I think NI are a very average side and their record in friendly matches recently is appalling too. I watched their last competitve match against the Faroes and they were dreadful. I will be expecting us to win tonight. The bookies fancy us too. I will be exceptionally disappointed if we don't win.
Finnegan Posted 9 February 2011 Author Posted 9 February 2011 The Faroes game was embarrassing but they've done well to beat Slovenia in Slovenia and get a respectable draw against Italy.
Jimothy Posted 9 February 2011 Posted 9 February 2011 3-0 to Scotland now. Didn't realise Northern Ireland were that shit.
The Doctor Posted 9 February 2011 Posted 9 February 2011 :D What was all that about northern ireland being a decent outfit then sosban? Absolutely destroyed them, could easily and perhaps should have been more than 3.
