Fox92 Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 Hope this hasn't been done before -- If it has, I'm sorry! Anyway, its taken from the matchday programme, and wherever else such as 4-4-2 magazine etc. Just name your PERFECT (it is spelt wrong in the thread title I know) team ever and manager. Obviously teams will differ in generation because of age, such as my team is generally players that have just finished. And here it is: Edwin Van Der Sar Cafu Lucio Ricardo Carvalho Paulo Maldini Steven Gerrard Matt Le Tissier Zinedine Zidane Lionel Messi Dennis Bergkamp George Best __________________ Manager: Brian Clough
Samilktray Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 This is the same thread as the 1 directly below it.
Jimothy Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 This is the same thread as the 1 directly below it. Well it's not, because this is a Perfect 11 from any era, where as that is the current World 11. I'll admit they are similar though.
Soar Fox Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 Peter Schmeichel Cafu J. Stam F. Cannavaro P. Maldini Z. Zidane L. Figo D. Beckham L. Messi G. Batistuta D. Bergkamp
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Hard to say really, I've never really ever seen Pele or Maradona extensively, though there's no doubt that they should both make anyone's 'perfect eleven.' You could argue the case for Messi, too. Here's mine, not based on players who I've seen in my lifetime, but based on what I've read, etc. Lev Yashin Lillian Thuram Franz Beckenbauer Bobby Moore Emlyn Hughes Zinedine Zidane Johan Cruyff Alfredo Di Stefano Pele Diego Maradona Ferenc Puskas It really is impossible though.
lcfc_jme Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Purely based on players I've seen play games in my lifetime, not legends of eras preceding me: Kahn Cafu Maldini Hierro Carlos Zidane Xavi Rivaldo Messi Raul Ronaldo Subs: Casillas Puyol Cannavaro Vieira Giggs C. Ronaldo Henry
Finchy Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Can't really comment on players before my time as i've not seen enough footage to know too much about them, but players from my lifetime in their prime. SchmeichelCafu - Thuram - Nesta - R.CarlosScholes Gerrard - ZidaneMessi - Bergkamp - Henry Manager : Arsene Wenger
The Doctor Posted 14 February 2011 Posted 14 February 2011 On what i've read and old footage i've seen - only old enough to have seen maldini, messi, nesta, bergkamp and xavi play. Gordon Banks Franz Beckenbauer Bobby Moore Paolo Maldini Garrincha Alfredo De Stefano Zico George Best Diego Maradona Matias Sindelar Arthur Friedenreich (probably unheard of but 1239 goals in 1329 games is one hell of a record) Subs: Levi Yashin Nesta Bergkamp Xavi Lionel Messi Fernando Peyroteo (again possibly unheard of but his record at sporting lisbon, 331 goals in 187 games) Pele
Austin Posted 14 February 2011 Posted 14 February 2011 My Lifetime and when they were at there peak .. Schmeichel Cafu Paulo Maldini Tony Adams Roberto Carlos Messi Nedved Zidane Giggs Ronaldo(fat) Ronaldinho
Mikey Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Schmeichel Cafu Thuram Nesta Carlos C. Ronaldo Zidane Scholes Ronaldinho Ronaldo Van Nistelrooy
Uncle Albert Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 I'll admit they are similar though. That took a lot to admit to. Anyways, my lifetime then.. Casillas Puyol Nesta CannavaroGerrard Scholes Zidane GiggsRonaldo Ronaldo Messi

Jimothy Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 That took a lot to admit to. Not sure what you're getting at with that reply, or what the point was. Unless the point was to come across as a bit of a dick, in which case, mission accomplished.
