millzi Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 So he scored 2 today, I saw a lot of people asking for him to start against Scunthorpe and he did, what do we think of him and do you want to keep him after his loan is up? Apologise if there is already a thread on this, I couldn't find it on the first page.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 The best defender we have, the only problem is he cant go a month of games without getting injured. I'd like to sign him, but no gaurantee he will stay injury free.
Zingari Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 he didn't do a proper goal celebration disappointed
millzi Posted 12 March 2011 Author Posted 12 March 2011 he didn't do a proper goal celebration disappointed Haha, what were you expecting? I triple back flip into forward roll into chest slide? Would have probably got buried in the mud on that pitch!
Zingari Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 Haha, what were you expecting? I triple back flip into forward roll into chest slide? Would have probably got buried in the mud on that pitch! he had 2 chances to do a proper goal celebration and missed them both , we can't afford missed chances like that at this level , the fans won't stand for it , he must do better !!

Hahahahaha, it's not like he's had no chance to think about what to do either with 3 months on the sidelines! However, if it was a triple back slip into forward roll into chest slide that he was thinking of..probably not best to try it when injured maybe?
The Doctor Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 best defender at the club but we're about as likely to sign him as someone is to open up an ice-cream shop in hell.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 As Peterborough said, he's our best central defender, certainly in footballing terms. Maybe a little lightweight and injury prone, but I've seen nothing but good stuff from him.
Christoph Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 Great defender and its probably why we wont be buying him.
millzi Posted 12 March 2011 Author Posted 12 March 2011 @Zingari - Would you have rather seen a celebration like Naughton's? That was pretty..unique?
A lotta Bamba Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 Have we ever had a bad game when he plays! I hope we keep him.
Bugg Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 Have we ever had a bad game when he plays! I hope we keep him. Ipswich? Portsmouth?
millzi Posted 12 March 2011 Author Posted 12 March 2011 Have we ever had a bad game when he plays! I hope we keep him. Ipswich? If you can count that absolute farce!?
A lotta Bamba Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 Ipswich? Portsmouth? Haha if he would of stayed on would of been different Ipswich? If you can count that absolute farce!? Don't count that game any way we will get 3 points against them any way at the walkers
Zingari Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 @Zingari - Would you have rather seen a celebration like Naughton's? That was pretty..unique? That was ok , but in the modern game it's not enough just to score and run around with your arm in the air like Shearer did in the old days .It just doesn't cut it anymore. If you are going to compete at the highest level, the celebrations must be meticulously planned on the training ground and they must have some element of originality to them ,otherwise we'll be classed as just another boring old "score and restart " team. The opposition will just laugh at us as if we are still playing in baggy shorts , big leather ankle boots and hair plastered down with brycreem . It's these differences that separate the great from the ordinary

Naughton always seems to have a celebration up his sleeve, maybe he should give advice to the rest of the squad, cause I definitely can't see the Yak doing anything special if he scored!
coale39 Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 best defender at the club but we're about as likely to sign him as someone is to open up an ice-cream shop in hell. Ive patented that idea, don't let me hear you speak of it again.
C.M.R.F. Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I saw in Benfica´s forum that Miguel Vitor has a official website with english version. www.miguelvitor.com
MattyFromLE Posted 5 April 2011 Posted 5 April 2011 I think he's quality. At Barnsley away, he looked calm, composed and scored. S****horpe from what i read from others was much the same. Way outta our League, and i feel really bad that he's not had a good run in the defense with Sven aka The Tinkerman. I'd love to see Mee || Vitor || Bamba || Naughton in the back 4 from now until end of the season!
Alf Bentley Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 I saw in Benfica´s forum that Miguel Vitor has a official website with english version. www.miguelvitor.com Had a quick look at his web site. Reading between the lines (maybe optimistically), I wonder if there's a chance he might be back next year - maybe on another loan, as I assume he wants to make it at Benfica in the long run. In his interview, he wasn't particularly warm about either Sven (he felt he had already adapted to English football under Sousa) or his teammates (no great complaints, but a bit "closed"). However, he seemed to love the fans, home and away (this came across as genuine, not just "saying the right thing") and was clearly frustrated his loan period had been disrupted by injuries. Also, he's put up this English-language version of his site very recently ("to let Leicester fans know about him"), not when he first came to LCFC. You could be cynical and say that's just his agent doing some general promotional work, or even work to get him a move elsewhere in England. Cynicism is sometimes justified, but sometimes not.... I'd certainly like to see him return - and get a decent run in the team for what remains of this season.
martyn Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Very good player, and a real shame we haven't seen more of him due to injury/Sven's abysmal man management. Doubt we'll be seeing him next year, David Luiz's exit has surely opened a door for him to be 3rd choice CB at Benfica/knocking on the door for a starting berth.
MC Prussian Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 He might just as well return to the starting line-up on Saturday. I liked Mee a lot when he played on the left side - the back four that we fielded against Scünthorpe was quite effective. Wouldn't put too much blame on Sven for Vitor's little playing time. Let's not forget he was out for four months and has just found back into the game. He may be a bit small for a centre-back, but he does well alongside Ricardo.
