Support for Yuki and solidarity with Japan

Here's a suggestion for Saturday's game. It would be a great gesture for some fans to bring Japanese flags to the game to show solidarity with the people of Japan and personal support for Yuki Abe. His performance against Scunthorpe was by all acounts amazingly professional.

Actually a really good idea, I bet they'll have some sort of fund raising going on outside the ground anyway so it'd be a nice gesture. I'm up for it.

Great idea. BUT are we allowed flags in the stadium? (Health and Safety certificates etc etc etc.................................)

Even if you aren't allowed flags, something simple like a plain white t-shirt with red spot in the middle resembling Japan's flag would suffice. Or some kind of well-wishing sign for Yuki and his Japanese compatriots held up throughout the match?

Sure it might get noticed somewhere along the line and maybe even on the Football League Show.

Are there any other Japanese footballers in this league??

Japanese-related flags / placards etc are a terrific idea, but not a minute's silence (I'm afraid these really must only be used for personal, local, or at a stretch national, tragedies, otherwise their meaning will lessen significantly).

Would obviously be great to see on the FLS and in the papers, but most importantly I'm sure it'd give Yuki a lot of heart

Every one in the kop or family stand should be given a white or red piece of paper to hold so it would resemble the japanese flag up when the players come out.

Unfortunately not the kind of thing I can envisage seeing the light of day, but certainly another very good idea.

EDIT: actually yeah, that would be slight overkill now I think about it...

I think that's a bit much personally.

It's a good idea, though you have to make it happen and not just say 'Good idea'. I won't be in attendance but it will be a nice gesture if it does get going a bit.

With that big lcfc shirt on the pitch before the match, put a Japanese one along side it and something else as a mark of respect. (can't think of anything yet)

Fantastic idea, I'm in, seeing videos of the devastation caused by the earthquake/ tsunami makes me feel sad for the people in japan, let's show yuki, japan and rest of the world we lcfc care for them and yuki to score his 1st goal, was a cracking shoot on sat, getting closer!

Would be a great idea, especially the putting bits of paper on seats in a stand to resemble the flag but doubt this would happen. The flag's aren't a bad idea but like someone said, would they be allowed in?

Stick a few up on the back/top too. Get this going for Pompey, try and publicise it?

A great idea, I shall be trying to purchase one tomorrow, would be great if there were a lot of them. A very nice gesture, well suggested.

I think if a collection was made for the people of Japan or charity/aid (and I'm sure it's already organised), it would be a great gesture from the club/owners for them to match it. Perhaps this idea might be spread far and wide. Stringer has a big mooth, he can make it happen. Would be a grand gesture and I'm sure gratefully received.

If this is happening maybe tweet Stringer about it to pass on a message.

I don't tweet, so therefore can't message him. Perhaps another member of this fine forum could find the time to suggest the latter.

On the case now.

Edit: Someone's already done it.

Good stuff, but don't forget our owners maybe matching any contribution for aid for Japan too - that would be a nice international gesture, as they are Asian neighbours. They are going to need it!
