MikeyT Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Buddhist-monks-trick-Leicester-City/article-3431147-detail/article.html Leicester City's play-off challenge was given a spot of divine intervention before their emphatic victory against Burnley. Two Buddhist monks were special guests of the club's Thai owners and they were introduced to the City players, who went on to convincingly beat the Clarets 4-0 at the Walkers Stadium. The club's spiritualist owners, Vichai and Top Raksriaksorn, have also had yellow lines painted on the floor of the home dressing room as they believe crossing yellow lines brings good luck. It certainly seemed to work on Saturday as Diomansy Kamara, a double from Paul Gallagher and Patrick Van Aanholt sealed a fantastic victory that breathed new life into City's play-off hopes. The red-and-gold clad monks were certainly something even City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson had not seen before during his time in the game. "The owners came down, they often do, and they said hello to the players," said Eriksson. "There's nothing special about having guests, they often do, but it was the first time they had monks. They often bring important guests into the dressing room. I wasn't surprised, but I hadn't seen that before. I've seen a lot, but not that. "Maybe we should have them travelling with us!" Eriksson hailed his side's performance as one of the best since he joined the club, but insisted they must maintain that standard for the rest of the season to keep alive their promotion challenge. "They were focused, concentrated and more or less always took the right decisions," he said. "I am frustrated because I think, with the quality the players have, we should have this type of performance more often."
MC Prussian Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 Why don't we label all Asian people Chinese just to please the local simpletons?
The Don Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 Buddist monks? From Tibet ? Perhaps wouldn't like to be called Chinese, even though partially rules by China. Would be an easy mistake to make....

FoxyPV Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 Brilliant. Trav - Staying on yellow lines brings bad luck. Crossing them brings good luck.

Houdini Logic Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 Take it you don't know either then Haven't got a clue - I was mearly highlighting the irony in your post Monks are held in very high regard in Thailand and I could easily see the owners bringing them over for that reason alone.
Danno Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 Would appreciate it if they were at every game please
davieG Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 What happens if we have Buddists Monks there and Bruma in the team - would the Monks guarantee a win or would Bruma guarantee a loss
