The Doctor Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 While forest losing is good for us, it's leeds' results that matter most out of the teams around us as to whether we make the p/o's.We can win all the games we like and forest + millll lose but unless leeds slip up, we've got no hope of the playoffs.

The playoffs are done!

Mate I never said Leed's results weren't important, just simply expressing that Forest losing makes the slim chance of making the play-offs a little bit more feasible.
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 wow this thread is late! swear they lost like 12 hours ago
Bilbo Posted 16 April 2011 Author Posted 16 April 2011 Jesus you try and put a positive thread up and all you get is negativity! I was working nights so sorry I don't post a minute by minute update of the championship. Next time I'll just post pissing and moaning about Ricardo, Weale, Sven, Yakubu etc etc.
Matt Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Let's just focus on ourselves winning, then look at other results. It's all good and well plotting what might happen but we have to win ourselves first. We keep winning, hopefully teams above us will slip up, but I think we have to win all remaining games to stand any chances, let's focus on that.
Bilbo Posted 16 April 2011 Author Posted 16 April 2011 My whole season (and bank balance) rests on us finishing above Forest. The playoffs are done! Too right mate, although I'm still hoping the play-offs aren't impossible, finishing above Forest is now the one likely thing we have to hope for.
Candidcamera Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Of course it is good news. Will there ever be a season like this again that's what I ask myself ?
Fox92 Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 We need to win at Reading obviously. Watford may draw at Leeds. Then next week, were away at Nottingham Forest and Leeds play Reading at Elland Road!
ajthefox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 it might no mean much but forest losing is pretty good for us. If we somehow manage a win at reading today, momentum for fridays game will be with us so hopefully that will bode well.
sdb Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 God bless your optimism people. I wish I could buy into it myself but i'm a miserable sod.
Messi Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 It doesn't really matter about other teams losing now, they have been for the last few weeks now and we have failed to capitalise so really its a non event. I am really hoping we can turn this around today. Its make or break time, have we got enough in our team to win? I'd like to think so. Come on Boys!!
Rich Fox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 I think we have put too much pressure on ourselves saying for the last few weeks we must win every game. We would have been better being more patient as others teams will drop points so maybe a draw at Reading is a good result. I dont think its doing any good going into games saying we must win at all costs we need to defend properly also and just see where it takes us.
Haydos Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 It doesn't really matter about other teams losing now, they have been for the last few weeks now and we have failed to capitalise so really its a non event. I am really hoping we can turn this around today. Its make or break time, have we got enough in our team to win? I'd like to think so. Come on Boys!! Well it does because if Forest's form these last 5 games is better than ours then they finish above us, and get the playoff position if anyone falters.
Kitchandro Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 If we don't get in the play-offs and Forest do, I'll be gutted. But if neither us or Forest get in I won't be that bothered because I expect us to go up next season above them. So play-offs or no play-offs, last night was a good result. BTW, if we win today, can people just be pleased about it instead of being disappointed if Leeds win as well?
Messi Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Haydos, try reading the whole sentence instead of just the first line, I was saying it doesn't matter about them losing cause we fail to capitalise every time they do.
Haydos Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Haydos, try reading the whole sentence instead of just the first line, I was saying it doesn't matter about them losing cause we fail to capitalise every time they do. That doesn't mean we're guaranteed to every time as "them losing doesn't matter" suggests. I keep saying it, 1 game at a time. We may be inconsistent but we pulled out somewhat of a 'shock result' against Burnley so why not? I'm not expecting a demolition job today but it's us and it's this league and anything can happen so even before each round of matches has been played it's disappointing to see people writing us off or getting carried away.
