bigneville Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Weale - 6 - Couldnt do much with the goals. Maybe needs to lift his communication to help out his struggling back-line. Naughton - 6 - Looked a shadow of his former self. Don't believe he was fully fit. Bamba - 6 - Started brightly, but allowed Shane Long to cause him too many problems in the end, and we got punished for this. Bruma - 5 - Looked completely out of his depth with his defending. Constantly got caught in foot races which he lost. Not bad with the ball, but very poor without. Van Aanholt - 5 - Poor throw for the third goal, looks like a player who is on his summer holidays already. No passion for the cause at all. Oakley - 6 - Constantly tried to start moves, but just moved the ball to slowly. The defensive side of his game wasn't bad, but he didnt offer enough protection for his back line. Wellens - 6 - Always offered a pass, but didn't really do anything constructive with the ball when he had it. King - 5.5 - Missing again for me, if it was any other player he would be dropped after the current run of performances. Extra half point for a well struck goal. Vassell - 5 - Constantly cut inside which was a main part of the problem today, if he had stayed wide he could have exposed Reading's lack of pace. Yakubu - 5.5 - Missed some decent chances, but caused Reading no problems, and another who looks like he's realised we ain't going up, so won't be here next year, No passion or fight as per usual. Kamara - 6 - Tried to sit in unmarkable pockets of space, but again brough the same first touch he had on Tuesday night. Did more against Burnley, than he's done against Boro, Palace & Reading. Subs Vitor - 6.5 - Handled Reading's pace the best of any of the centre halves. Must be wondering how many goals we have to concede before he gets a place at centre back. Howard - 6.5 - Gave us a focal point. His appearance gave the players a lift. Gallacher - 6 - Didn't offer anything different from the same narrow and slow play.
lcfcsnow Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Weale 4 Naughton 6 Bamba 2 absolute horror show, we was (abit) better after he'd gone off following his comedy tackle Bruma 3 this signing has ruined the season Van aanholt 3 i actually loled when griffin skinned him, as for his throw which led to the 3rd Wellens 4 if only he was as good as he thinks he is King 5 poor again, plus 1 for goal, needs to sort his game out Oakley 5 did his job but little effect going forward Vassell 5 missed a sitter in 2nd half, pisses about doing stopovers too much Kamara 4 v disappointing since his debut Yak 5 almost scored a screamer 1st half, should have scores at least 1 2nd half. Arsenal of the championship.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Weale 5 - Could do little about the goals. Poor distribution. Naughton 7 - Sloppy in possession at times but desperate to get forward throughout, unlike some of his colleagues. Bamba 4 - Looked every inch a £200k player. Bruma 3 - Rubbish. Totally rubbish van Aanholt 2 - Looked like a competition winner. Take your shit defending, shit attitude and shit haircut and fuck off. Oakley 7 - Very busy in the first half and was at the heart of a number of our best moves in the first 20 minutes. Wellens 4 - Extremely careless and looked tired. King 7 - Got involved far more, playing some interesting give-and-go's in central midfield. Still largely ineffective though, apart from an excellent goal. Vassell 4 - I said to my mate he plays like I would if I had his pace. He's fast enough to get past people but never seems to have the ball under control and never gets his head up. Also missed a sitter. Yakubu 5 - Lazy but always a threat. Great shot just over in the first half. Kamara 5 - Got heavily involved in the first half but faded in the second. Gallagher was our best player today and he only played half an hour. On another note, both Kebe and Long were excellent today.
Bert Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Weale 4 - again, I can't imagine the stick if the goals went in against Ricardo. Especially the third, if the ball was any closer to him it would've hit him. Naughton 6 - our best defender until Vitor came on, not his best much better than the others. PVA 3 - loses a point for his throw-in and two for being skinned by ANDY GRIFFIN. His worst game for us. Bamba 4 - dreadful. Bruma 4 - no coincidence we lose and he's back playing. Made to look a mug for their second. Oakley 6 - our best midfielder, worked hard, and tried to get us going. Wellens 4 - invisible today, slow on the ball and tried too much fancy stuff. King 6 - much more involved today, great finish. Vassell 5 - either runs into blind alleys or beats his man then turns back. how he didn't score I dong know. Yak 5 - should've scored, always looked like he COULD do something, but didn't. Kamara 5 - wasn't his day today. Gallagher 5 - little effect. Howard 5 - see Gallagher. Vitor 6 - did well when he came on. Unlucky with their 3rd.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Vassell 5 - either runs into blind alleys or beats his man then turns back. how he didn't score I dong know. Something on your mind, Bert?
Haydos Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Weale 4 - again, I can't imagine the stick if the goals went in against Ricardo. Vitor 6 - did well when he came on. Unlucky with their 3rd. I honestly don't understand these ratings. Naughton was no better than the rest of the back 4. The initial cause of their first goal and didn't do anything to stop Kebe for the third. I'm one of his biggest fans but apart from some good passing further up the pitch he had an awful day. King again I thought was quiet until the last 20 when he began to run with the ball a bit more and stepped up the tempo. Wellens was the fulcrum today. Everything went through him, granted he misplaced more passes than he would normally but he was always looking for it, always making space for himself. An off day and no worse than King. Gally I thought single handedly changed the game when he came on. He put in a few fantastic balls, his passing was superb, he was aggressive and positive and took the game by the scruff of the neck, really looked to be trying to show Sven he should have started. Kamara looked twice the player Vassell was today yet they have the same rating? His movement for the most part was superb. Didn't quite go his way but Vassell was awful.
MikeyT Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 So, to sum up, the defence was basically shit and non existent, with the exception of Vitor?
Bettsj2 Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Weale - 3 - We've seen since his return why Sven has been so desperate to sign another keeper Naughton - 4 - Not fit Bamba - 3 - When Mee's next to him he's twice the player Bruma - 2 - Not as bad as McGivern or Nielson but not far off PVA 3 - What the hell was the throw about? Dogshit Oakley - 5 - Tried but looked so slow against the Reading midfield Wellens - 3 - Didn't try and looked so slow against the Reading midfield King - 4 - By far the most frustrating player at the club. His goal was magnificent but everything else was awful Vassell - 4 - Works his ass off but does nothing of any note Yak - 5 - Too good for this league but he aint showin it Kamara - 4 - See Yak Subs: Gally - 5 - Has the passion but no the effect Howard - 3 - Completely predictable and waste of a substitution Vitor - 7 - He and Mee are the best defenders at the club. It's an absolute travesty that they dont start everyweek. Mee Vitor Bamba Naughton. That would have seen us in the play offs.
Adster Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 There's only one way our defence will improve: STOP CHANGING THE FVCKING DEFENCE SVEN.

Well that's my opinion on the game and the players performances, couldn't really care less what you think.
Haydos Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Well that's my opinion on the game and the players performances, couldn't really care less what you think. Soz <_<
OzFox Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Weale 5 - Not much to do other than pick the ball out of the net Naughton 6 - Decent going forward. Bamba 5 - Mugged for the first goal. All arms and legs at times Bruma 6 van Aanholt 4 - Lacks confidence, weak in the tackle, beaten for pace by Griffin of all people and terrible throw in that lead to their third goal Oakley 6 Wellens 5 - Classic case of "new contract syndrome". Telegraphs his passes so much that I think I know what he's going to do before even he does. King 5.5 - Far more involved than against Palace, but that doesn't say much. Great strike for the goal though. Vassell 5 - Can't hit a barn door. If you're presented with a chance like that ten yards out, at least hit the bloody target Yakubu 5 - A weird combo of static and lazy yet threatening at the same time. On another day could have had a couple of goals. Kamara 5 - Lively in the first half, anonymous in the second. Gallagher 7 Lively and skilful. Fantastic cross for Yakubu's header Vitor 6 Composed and classy Howard 5
Charl91 Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Our entire defense was shoddy, though Naughton was slightly better going foward. Kamara and King I thought did well, Oakley got skinned once or twice (I think it was him) but saved us a goal. Yak could have done better....
Father Ted Posted 16 April 2011 Posted 16 April 2011 Weale 6 - Had little chance with the goals, all clinical finishes. Naughton 6 - Good outlet from the back and supported attacks. Quiet defensively. Bamba 2 - Only gets 2 for his header that was well saved. I've been saying this for a while now, he's a liability. Bruma 0 - ****ing shit YOU'RE NOT FIT TO WEAR THE SHIRT Van Aanholt 3 - Another over-rated piece of turd from Chelsea - future looks bright for them! Come on, he's what 20, and he got skinned by a man with grey hair. FFS Oakley 7.5 - Had a good game again and was a real positive. I'm inspired and want to know where this 2nd wind of life has come from. Buzzed around the midfield. Got stuck in and spread the play well in midfield and at one stage was having to make King's forward runs for him. Wellens 6.5 - As Oakley but with more misplaced passes. King 5 - Anonymous?? Kamara 6 - Was decent could have been worse, could have been better. Vassell 5.5 - Had little impact. Should have scored at the beginning of the second half. Yak 5 - lazy Subs: Vitor 6.5 - Dealt with everything and even when Bruma was the only option of a pass, he found another pass somehow (hero). Gallagher 6.5 - Put some great balls into the box, just a shame about Yak's half-arsed attempts to get on the end of them. Howard 6 - Did very little and had little time to have an impact. Sven 0 - ****ed it good and proper with his team selections, again.

Thor Posted 17 April 2011 Posted 17 April 2011 Weale 5 - Competent enough, but other than the goals Reading didn't test him too much. Naughton 6 - One of our better players again, as we have come to expect. Bamba 5 - He's big-hearted and a trier, but his performance reflected the general air of disorganisation and panic in our defence today. Shane Long left him for dead for their first goal. Bruma 5 - Looks calm and cultured on the ball but has a lot to learn about positional play. van Aanholt 4 - Poor. Skinned easily all day by breaking Reading attackers, and offered nothing going forward. Oakley 5 - Ran around doing the predictable stuff but hardly a driving force. Wellens 5 - No creativity today. Neeeded far too much time on the ball and then did nothing with it once he finally decided on the pass. King 5.5 - Apart from a cracking goal, did nothing of note. Unusually for him, he gave the ball away too often for my liking. Vassell 6 - Did OK, but with his pace and trickery, he should be offering a lot more. He never looks like he is going to score. Blazed over a great chance from King's flick on. Yakubu 5 - Looked dangerous when he got the ball but his lack of movement made him so easy to mark. His immobility and unwillingness to run into space dictated the pace of our attacks - slow and predictable, unlike Reading who were attacking at speed all day and looking far more dangerous than us as a result. Kamara 6 - Looked really up for it in the first half, drove a good effort over the bar and whipped in some good crosses, but faded into anonymity. Gallagher 7 - Looked a class act as soon as he came on. Our only player to show any real creativity. Whipped in some great crosses including a superb Beckam-like bender which Yakubu did well to get to but headed narrowly wide. Vitor 7 - Should have started the game. We looked far more composed at the back with him on the pitch. Howard 5 - Blundered around creating havoc as always, but past it at this level. Sven 1 - Wrong lineup, wrong tactics. Vitor, Mee, Abe and Gallagher should all have started, and Dyer should have come on at some point. We looked narrow, predictable and oh so slow in attack. We had three strikers all vying for the same space down the middle, with scant movement or penetration; three midfielders who all looked very ordinary and too similar; and a completely disorganised back four all shouting and accusing each other after each goal. Even in the warm-up, it was noticeable how the players formed into little cliques. No togetherness.
anothercrapseason Posted 17 April 2011 Posted 17 April 2011 I think you're all being very generous with van arsehole and bruma - neither deserve a point at all, maybe 1 for turning up on time
