Sorting a cat out

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if I could have some advice.

I have an 11 month old kitten and she is being stalked by an older cat.

In the last two days this older cat has twice tried to attack my cat in the garden, to which my cat has shrieked loudly and has ran inside. Fortunately, I was on hand both times to scare this other cat off. What can I do to stop this happening? Has anybody had experiences of this happening to their cat?

Catch the older cat and give it a good telling off :).

Maybe the older cat is a cat-paedophile :o

Wheres MikeyT been recently? :P

Invest in a gun. That'll sort the ****er out.

Hmm, dunno. You could try getting one of those plant spray things and, if you get the opportunity and you see the older cat in your garden, try to get a shot at it with the water spray. If you manage to get it a few times it might think twice about heading into your garden. A jug of water by the back door, ready for you to lob over it, might be an alternative. :dunno:

Unfortunately i think youll have to let them sort themselves out, as with most animals they will need to esrablish their territories, your kitten may take a beating once or twice, but as it grows it will take control.. or alternately it will learn to just avoid the sitiation

My cat got attacked and couldn't walk for 2-3 weeks a while back, it was this ginger cat which always hops into our garden. 5 iron to the head sorted it out nicely.

Golf club to the head as jackirius has said - or loads of chilli pepper plants since cats hate chilli peppers - only problem being that would perhaps scare your kitten.

If you know where that other cat is getting into your garden from then cover that area in clippings from a rose bush or similar thorny plant, also cover any fence with netting, the other cat will get it's claws stuck in it and be scared away from coming into your garden.

My cat got shot in the hind leg in 1998.

F*%kin cousin never warned me about hairpin trigger. I was absolutely livid. The cat was pretty pissed off aswell.

I order you to delete that LargeAl.

It was a bit of cat jest but I've realised that it could give sick bastards like you and Jackirius ideas.

I don't condone any kind of games like that with animals and in real life I am actually like Dr Doolittle or Ace Ventura and animals flock round me as they can sense the love and respect.

I used to tie a virtual paintball electronic hit marker to my cat and chase it around the house with the gun and use it as a moving target, hours of fun.

Stop giving nutters ideas Jack!

This is starting to remind me of that quote from the hit movie Scream - "Movies don't create psychos.....they just make them more creative." Same could be said of FT!
