Soar Fox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I did notice that only one player went to celebrate with him yesterday Van Aanholt. Maybe certain players feel he let us down at boro.
shiv Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 1. As long as he doesn't play in defence. 2. Sven stops playing him EVERY game, regardless of how shit he plays. 3. As long as he never gives interviews, he sounded like an arrogant pr*ck after the Florist game.
Kent Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Wouldn't mind having him back, the only thing is that he'd never join on a perm which means the ever present 'loan player commitment and experience' thing will keep coming up.
Haydos Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 This thread epitomises the 'fickleness' of so many on here... would people be saying these things BEFORE yesterday's game, when Bruma was being roundly slated by just about everyone? tssssk..... now after one, admittedly, super game, he's the next best thing to Viera... Cmon.... Classic you. Yes. I've not really said anything bad about him bar one of two odd criticisms. I backed him up when he came on at Reading because plenty were on his arse about how shit he was when it was clear Bamba had a mare that day. You hear a word like 'fickle' get tossed around and immediately jump on it. You can't class all of the posters on this forum as fickle, that's just ****ing stupid. Go and spend some time checking the post history of the people that have acted 'fickle' in this thread then come and point the finger.

I just noticed that as well, you can in this video people just walk past him as if he didn't exist (Apart from PVA)
Ozwin Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I think with a decent pre season behind him he'd feel loads more confident and perform better. I bet it's not easy when you have a new CB partner and new goalkeeper behind you ever game. Also, Bruma's second must be a goal of the season contender?

I agree, but he obviously will go back to Chelsea for a while, anybody know the earliest we can get him back? Or is it when the transfer window opens. (If we want him back that is)
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 It's just that miserable sods have their voices heard more after a defeat.. the reality is that Bruma has been pretty poor for City, as has been reflected in what..75% if not more of posts over the past few weeks. now after one good game, this all seems forgotten... I personally don't think he's too bad, but is not ready yet to adopt that tough, ball-winning midfield role... we need someone who's had experience of this role, is tough, physically strong, verbal.. and has experience of winning tough at this level. This aint Bruma
Webbo Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I just noticed that as well, you can in this video people just walk past him as if he didn't exist (Apart from PVA) I hadn't noticed that but you're right. Hmmm.
Cat Burger Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I just noticed that as well, you can in this video people just walk past him as if he didn't exist (Apart from PVA) Not sure if that's conclusive at all, from that clip you see that it's only Wellens in one goal, and Tunchev in the other, who do any possible ignoring.

I won't swear back at you, because you have your point of view and I have mine. I'll be nice Just to make it clear once again, because again you dont seem to understand, or don't want to..I think Bruma has potential, but he won't be what we need YET... With his age and lack of experience in the nasty, tough Championship, Im sure he will continue, as he has done this year, to struggle. We need a seasoned pro at this level, a nasty bar-steward who is gonna haul us out of a mess on a cold and wet November night when we're 2-1 down away at Barnsley. This player is NOT Bruma, not yet anyway
AdamN Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I'll try not to let yesterday's goals cloud my judgement, but as has been said, there has to be a reason why he's made several appearances for Chelsea (lets not forget, it's Chelsea, not some struggling Premier League club near the foot of the table) and has been capped for Holland. Now, he may have not put in the best of performances at centre half, but then our fans have been slating Van Aanholt just as much, yet fans/players at Coventry/Newcastle/Chelsea didn't appear to have a bad word to say about him when we first took him on loan. I'm sure there's a reason why he was getting so much praise and so it's safe to say that he perhaps hasn't showed us what he's fully capable of. I'm confident that Bruma is much the same. Also, should Sven have plans for him in midfield, I reckon King, Wellens and Bruma could compliment each other nicely. King the attacking outlet, making clever runs and finishing off moves that the strikers don't. Wellens the creative force, as we know that when he's at his best, everything goes through him, and Bruma the tough tackling defensive midfielder, shielding the back four. He's also shown that he's not afraid to have a pop from range - something which Wellens appears to be incapable of, 99% of the time. Plus, if he did come here permanently then nobody could accuse him of not caring, simply because he's on loan. Hopefully he'd get a little bit more support from our fans, then.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Ben Mee said he was pleased for Bruma on Twitter, I don't think he's disliked at all.

I won't swear back at you, because you have your point of view and I have mine. I'll be nice Considering the knee-jerk reaction of most of fans (including those on this board) I think they've been relatively restrained after his performance against Watford. I'm sure when this topic has been open a bit longer there'll be plenty on saying 'no ta, he's shit' and fair enough. But having a go at a few people for wanting to give the lad a chance is just dull now. Alright they could have piped up before yesterday and I wish people would rather than keeping their thoughts to themselves or maybe they are just sheep who are persuaded to speak up after a couple of goals, who knows? Maybe I just don't like being lumped in with 'fickle supporters' or the knee jerk reactionaries on here.
ajthefox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I wouldn't want Bruma back as such because his inclusion on occasion has been unwarranted and I think we could do better. However, I do think he has recieved more criticism than what he has deserved and if he came back I wouldn't be too dis-pleased because he is still better than many defenders in this league, including some that have preceded him in a City shirt.

Mav Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Ben Mee said he was pleased for Bruma on Twitter, I don't think he's disliked at all. Remember what he said when he was dropped though? And I remember Vitor trying to avoid passing to him against reading. Bruma comes across as a right knob in his interviews as well

You've confused me here...
zubi Posted 26 April 2011 Author Posted 26 April 2011 Not sure if that's conclusive at all, from that clip you see that it's only Wellens in one goal, and Tunchev in the other, who do any possible ignoring. I suppose so, it was inconclusive footage so I can't really judge, sorry. I guess I was intrigued by someones comment that only PVA (1st goal) and I think Naughton (2nd goal) really chased after Bruma to congratulate him. I mean, any player scoring a rocket from 40 yards out deserves to be mobbed by his team mates.
gazfox9 Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Based on yesterday I'd certainly have him back .No doubts he's been hit and miss for us but he's young, and providing theres no clauses re starting games I think he could be a big player for us.
ScouseFox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I trust Sven's judgement, and if he sees enough in him to bring him back, I'll have him.
stix Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I just noticed that as well, you can in this video people just walk past him as if he didn't exist (Apart from PVA) I think for the first PVA is obviously running alongside his celebration but Wellens is clapping him and just before the clip cuts to the next goal you can see King running towards them. And its Naughton running after him when the 2nd goes in. I dont think there is any unrest in the camp regarding Bruma....not from that clip anyway.
