the_fosse Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Article published on soccerlens.com today. Interesting thoughts although I think we all agree Eriksson has been very positive for the club. Debate open? http://soccerlens.com/are-leicester-city-really-better-off-under-eriksson-than-sousa/69206/
SMX11 Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Sticking with Sousa would have resulted in a relegation scrap.
Haydos Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Saw that as well. I don't know how you can even compare them after the sh*t he had to fix after that daft twat ****ed everything up. 'Scuse my language.
Corky Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 I don't think we would've been. The fitness was a huge issue and we had many unhappy players within the camp, which doesn't appear to be the case now. If we'd stayed with Sousa I don't believe we'd have been anywhere near the top six at any stage this season.
ScouseFox Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Wouldn't have signed Bruma with Sousa, and he's the only reason we haven't won the league. So I agree.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Article published on soccerlens.com today. Interesting thoughts although I think we all agree Eriksson has been very positive for the club. Debate open? http://soccerlens.com/are-leicester-city-really-better-off- under-eriksson-than-sousa/69206/ To be fair none of us know... Sousa did well at Swansea and left the incumbent manager with a good squad of players. I for one, was excited at his appointment. However, some managers do well at certain clubs and not at others, for a whole host of reasons. It became clear quickly that Sousa was trying to instill his patient, passing style on a group of players who, under Pearson, had been used to getting the ball up to big steve and Matty quickly and to defend resolutely. Sousa was therefore attempting to put square pegs into round holes which MAY have worked given time. The gamble just became too big and a change was needed. As to whether Sven was the correct change, we all wait for next season with baited breath..
AlphaMaleFox Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 To put things in perspective here, Sousa's eleven games in charge at Leicester, albeit two were Cup successes over Macclesfied Town and Leeds United, brought three victories. Sven Goran Eriksson's Leicester have achieved that exact total of wins in their last eleven outings too. 21/09/2010, Fratton Park - Portsmouth 1:2 Leicester City (3rd round of the Carling Cup). Surely I was dreaming...
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 No. well thats clear then... reasons being?....
cairnsy Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 well thats clear then... reasons being?.... Do you like arguing with me a bit? He had a whole preseason to implement his own team, he had financial backing. And despite that he didn't brig in the right players, only gd one was Abe (was Vitor Sousa or sven im not sure) And from the first 10 games he had in charge sure we had fancy football but we never looked like threatening the final 3rd and the defence looked weak, he didn't focus at it at all. We had neilson, Hobbs, Morrison and Berner who all aren't the greatest passers but Sousa tried to implement it into people that they didn't possess and IMO never would. Ftness levels from him were awful, Hense the drop in form of those from start of the season. They look ****ing shot. Also numerous transfer requests, all adding up to a disaster

gazfox9 Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 If we'd have stuck with PS the chances are we'd be preparing for league 1 next season.
FuriousFox46 Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Wouldn't have signed Bruma with Sousa, and he's the only reason we haven't won the league. So I agree. I hope you're joking. Without Sven we'd been nowhere near the top of the league. So we'd be near the bottom anyway even without 'Bruma's effect'.

What, you mean some of the reason for us not winning the league isn't because of Bruma and Ricardo? Nah, in all seriousness, Sousa created a very unhappy camp, players were not happy, we weren't happy, he didn't seem to be getting his methods across etc. We were sinking, and fast. Sven is clearly an improvement
TheUltimateWinner Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Abe and Vitor werent paulos signing they were the owners
Babylon Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Abe and Vitor werent paulos signing they were the owners Abe, yes. Vitor... are you sure?
sven-your-smiling Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Sticking with Sousa would have resulted in a relegation scrap. i completely agree 8 points from a possible 30 was not good enough and i think we would have gone down if we had of stayed with him IN SVEN WE TRUST!
TheUltimateWinner Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Pretty sure swear ive heard/read it somewhere, would ask my inside sources but last time they let me down. :-(
tomtom Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Abe and Vitor werent paulos signing they were the owners The owners wanted Abe but sousa wanted Vitor, ..they even said it was him being in charge that clinched the deal
