Hobbs to hand in transfer request

Recommended Posts

Surely this is nothing new, no big secret and all that Sven himself at the tuen of the year said that some players had made their mind up they didn't want to be here and had thrown their toys out of the pram and it's clear this was Hobbs and Fryatt who were both instigating moves away from the club.

I liked Hobbs as a defender but fact is he didn't want to play for the club then bye bye I'm sure plenty of other players will jump at the chance.

sell him to hull, use the money to buy Mee a better defender, a better player

I agree with Col. Least there's one fan on here with sense

So you are a "real fan" because you don't like the Thais and you have sense because you and one other person are saying the same thing?

I think perhaps a look in the mirror might be worth while my friend before you criticise the 99% on here who think the vast majority of what you are posting isn't brilliantly thought out.

Where's that floggin a dead horse emoticon?

It threw it's toys out for not being played at RCB and asked for a transfer. It can currently be found on a hull forum talking about "pashun".

Disagree. Mee has done well but I'd prefer Hobbs.

Hobbs has NOT said he doesn't want to play for us. Things like that can get a lad a bad name for nothing! Until he comes out and says why he wants to go or if Sven comes out and says his side you shouldn't make comments like that.

And how do you know he did that? Do you work at the training ground? No, are you Sven? No. Has he asked for a transfer? No yet. Can you blame him? Not at all. Why warm a bench when you can go and play!

Ah Col, lol

Why would you Col when he can't play the passing game and lacks pace ?

He's not at this time the right style of player to fit in with the playing ethos.

What about the above makes you persist with your argument of playing him in the first eleven?

Help me understand Col, I am close to self harm.

Not gonna bother to be honest you just sound like a sarcastic twit.

unhappy players[

Sven The City boss admits players are understandably upset at not being picked but has challenged his fringe players to prove they are better than his new recruits.

However, he said if they want to leave they will be allowed to do so in January when the transfer window opens.

"The fact is everyone has to compete for a place. I tell the players that they should come in with a smile, work and if they don't want to do that then the window is open in January. If you are not happy in the club then you shouldn't stay.

"I think there may be a few leaving in January. I am happy if they want to stay and I always say it is up to them to show me I have made a mistake.

so remind me which players didn't want to stay and fight for their place in the team?

You leave me nowhere else to go but be sarcastic because your blind, clueless, rhetoric is quite frankly pissing me off and it would appear the majority of posters on this board - I tried to take a friendly, light-hearted approach to your ignorance but I've now ran out of 'Fisher Price Guides to Understanding Football. Calling me the 'twit' in this is laughable.

I can't see the name Hobbs there. Yes it says players can leave but it doesn't say they won't know they are going! Hobbs had no idea he was going on loan. He was told he was in Sven's place and he moved just before he went to Hull. Why would a player buy a house if he didn't want to play for us? I was told that at the training ground! Personally before you slag someone off you should wait for him to come out and say why. We all want to know what's going on but he doesn't know himself! There was a story in the Hull paper from Hobbs saying he had no idea what Leicester had planned for him. That was on news now. If he doesn't know himself then why are we bothering with this waste of time?

As I said you simply sound like a sarcastic twit. Either make some considered arguments or don't waste my time with your nonsense. As for pissing people off on here? I'll continue to post my views, roll the dice and take my chances

I've made considered arguments this very morning - you refused to answer.

Please do continue to post views (plural) it would be nice though if you had more than one, over and over again, throwing the same ignorant mud at solid sensible argument.

I'll continue to post what I want to, try not to be sarcastic (no point in this is there?) and won't apologise if my point isn't the same as yours. Sometimes it will be sometimes it won't... cest la vie

My view on Hobbs, just to re-iterate, is that its a shame that last years player of the season MAY not feel he has a future at the club. Hobbs is a good player and it will be our loss if he leaves, IMO.. nothing controversial there, just my view

That is a very good question.

Tell us again what your relationship with Hobbs is.

It's an important factor.

Your best mate is Hobbs best mate, so you know second hand what the story is? Is that right?

Now, I don't have friends, that's why I write a blog and spend time on football forums, so my knowledge of having a best friend is based solely on films like Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Stand By Me, and The Goonies, so you'll have to clarify it.

Surely if your best mate is friends and best mates with Hobbs, you yourself will have at some point crossed paths, say down the pub, or on an adventure on some train tracks looking for a dead body. Or perhaps following a treasure map or some like in a cave? Like I said, my only source of knowledge is based on fiction so it's difficult for me to judge.

You've formed a high opinion of what type of character Hobbs is because he has signed some autographs for you at training? Is this really a good basis along with you best mates second hand information so reliable? I know if I was forming a defensive approach to all things me, I'd tell people what they wanted to hear as not to come across as a brat too.

Now I am not saying Hobbs is a brat. I am just trying to piece together this intriguing puzzle from the information your best mate/cousin who works with Hobbs' missus etc. It's fascinating and really does add to the mystery of why Sven is such a dick, for not choosing someone so close to you.

If he likes Hobbs that's fine, if he wants Hobbs to get a chance, that's fine... I agree with both actually. But there has been so much else that he has said (much not about Hobbs) that seems like a lot of bull plop to me.

Yes Hobbs wasn't fantastic at) but he isn't a right back, he was moved there through injuries. Some players are better in their prefered postion. You can't blame them for not being able to play all over the pitch, weale wouldn't be any good as a striker. It's not his place, same as waggy would be usless in goal. I'm not talking about every position Hobbs has or hasn't played in but can Sven honestly say he's watched Hobbs in HIS position? No, because Sven didn't care whether he was good enough because he came in like a ball in a china shop. If he had played Hobbs in RCB and thought thanks but your not for me then I'd say fair enough. Managers have their faves...But Sven didn't and for me this is bad management. Why spend money you don't need too if you give the players you have the time.

I was making the point that Mee is more versatile than Hobbs. Surely, as a manager, you'd want someone who could play competently in more than one position?

He still played Hobbs didn't he? Hobbs last played against Man City, three months after Sven arrived, not the second game after Sven's arrival. He was given a chance and didn't impress Sven enough to want him for the rest of the season.

He did give the players the time.

Ok detective, I'll give you the story. My cousin Ben - worked in Limey's which was part from Cruise. She worked at cruise and obviously made friends there, one of which is the gf of my friend. They are good friends as couples so no, I have never met him other than the training ground where my boys did the talking! Hobbs did donate a signed shirt via my friend to a charity my wife was working on but that's it. I have no idea if Sven is a dick. Never said he was, there you go making up more rumours.I was told from the fans outside Hobbs had gone on long after returning on a family holiday so most of what I know has come from them. Martyn (I think was his name) told my boys he's gone on loan. I asked where too, he said Hull and that Hobbs had no idea he was going. I then obviously called my friend, he said it was a shock and he confirmed hobbs didn't know. But he didn't say much else. So that's the information I had received. Anything else I guess you should ask Hobbs if he returns. Obviously I take an interest in him, I like him as a player and with the connections - who wouldn't?

I once had a drink with Russ Abbott who supports Liverpool and he knew of a player called Hobbs too. I'm not sure though if he liked fish fingers or not. It's quite frankly anybody's guess.

I think you've missed your vocation Nick...you should be on the stage as a stand-up. Your dry sense of humour is akin to that of Jack Dee
