Aidy3 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Yuki is not a ball winner, nor is Oakley, and Wellens, and King are definitely not ball winners either. Did anyone see the Watford match - the second half was absolutely brilliant the way Sven used Wellens! I mean out of who we have, Yuki is the player most suited to the 'ball winner' role. And i am not doubting Wellens's ability. I agree that his playing style is similar to that of Xavi.
artursteppe Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 We need a ball winner, then King or Yuki or Wellens would have to be on the bench. Not Yuki Abe, he will be a real star next season!

Not Yuki Abe, he will be a real star next season! out of the three i'd say to drop Yuki, King was our top goalscorer and Wellens was our player of the season. How can you drop them? However, King does have a tendency to go missing for a few games.

As I have said before, did anyone see the second half of the Watford match? The way Sven used Wellens was brilliant. We won that second half 3-0 and it was our best second half performance of the season, and I knew that formation would be good for the team months before it happened.
andyking10 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 i say do whatever we can to bring heskey back to city. would bring extra atmosphere to the game, would definitely be the crowd favourite. and the price that they are supposedly asking for is a bargain. i no i would be getting him on the back of my shirt if he came back!

You mean the half that Wellens didn't play? He was subbed for the Yak.
artursteppe Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 You mean the half that Wellens didn't play? He was subbed for the Yak. Exactly, I don't care how many people want to sleep with Wellens, he is overrated. We were much better without him, he moves too slowly, and moves the ball too slowly. A proper defensive player with Yuki Abe and either King or Wellens must be the best option.
Libertine Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Didn't see that coming. I do agree that Yuki should be in competition with Wellens though, but not a first-name-on-the-teamsheet as you suggest. Wellens on form bosses the midfield, but some games is a passenger. A bit of rotation would be good. That was a problem we had in midfield last season, no decent backup.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Schmeichel/Westwood Naughton Faye Bougherra David Murphy Kebe King Wellens Gally Yak Maynard Other suggestions: Elliott Bennett-Brighton very quick main part to their success this season. Will Buckley-Watford-impressed when I saw him at Vicarage Road. Danny Graham-Same as above Reo Coker-Tough tackling midfielder somebody we lack. :sge:
Trishyb Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Hi guys! What do you think about signing jimmy bullard? Excellent player looks to be fit again wants to leave hull and would be great to have in dressing room!
Christoph Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 He was good when he was in the premiership. If his wages werent too high, I wouldnt mind him, but I think thats why Hull shipped him off on loan because of his wages iirc.
eye666 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Anyone take Stephen Kelly from Fulham? Noticed that he wants first team football on SSN and considering we're unlikely to get Naughton, he could probably do a job at right-back. Thoughts?

Can't have done that well for them though, made only 18 appearances for them in 2 years and behind Chris 'o.g.' Baird.

LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Chimbonda got released by QPR. He's abit old but he can play left back and centre back but prefers right back. Do you think we should sign him? he's free and has experience
CKB Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 No thanks... QPR released him early in his contract so that sums it up for me...
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 they released him probably because Naughton is going there. who else is there to get for us
Ozwin Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 I'm sure there's better options than Pascal fackin Chimbonda.
Austin Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 they released him probably because Naughton is going there. who else is there to get for us Dude, it's not like there's 4 Right backs in the enitirety of football, Sven will get someone who i'm sure/I hope will be just as good if not better then Naughton Just be patient.
CKB Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 they released him probably because Naughton is going there. who else is there to get for us From what i heard he just didn't fit in at QPR and was told to leave

LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 Marcus Hahnemann yes he's old but a very good keeper. good enough for another 2 years. if we can't get westwood would you get Hahnemann since he is free and has experience
