shiv Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 Hal Robson-Kanu is beyond gash. Well tbh I've only seen him in a couple of games when he's played really well; and he's young. But there are probably better options, like Kebe and McAnuff.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 Is it me, or is it nice to see us linked with Championship players rather than Big Name Charlies? The way to get out this division is to buy proven and decent championship players. I'd welcome the likes of Earnshaw et al.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 McAnuffs running on the ball and his set pieces where top class i think he even told the fans to come on and that shows real PASSSHUNNNN

I'd say we need a mixture of them, preferably the younger, talented players from championship. And the proven players in the premiership to bring some experience to the squad.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Is there any more news on gunnarson ? from cov apparently we where intrested and i think he was out of contract with king and westwood?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Out of those we've been linked with. I'd have: Westwood Naughton Bougherra Earnshaw Yakubu Maynard Kebe. Still think we need another CM - Possibly someone like Whittingham.

shiv Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Seb' Larsson free transfer.. Been mentioned, but can't see him dropping down a division. Will probs end up at Sunderland.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Whittingham is a winger though Yeah, hes just forced to play in the CM by Dave Jones because he wanted him in the team, even if it was not in his natural position.
Clazie Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Agreed. However i'd say someone in the mould of Cattermole. A natural ball winner. We've got the Yuke for that! I'd prefer a creative central midfielder, a championship version of Xavi please.

As Sven said in an interview - Wellens is Leicester's Xavi or Iniesta He's technically good, small, never looses the ball, great at playing the killer pass that others wouldn't spot and great at maintaining possession There the basic qualities that Xavi has, which Wellens also has

Libertine Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Well he is. Plays in a similar manner, if not quite as deadly in terms of final ball.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Don't know why your laughing mate, he isn't as good as Xavi obviously, but in our team he is our Xavi. Some people call them "Hollywood Balls", but when these are passes no-one else sees, let alone dare attempt.

ScouseFox Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 We're talking about Richie Wellens, yeah? Never loses the ball?
Leicester_Loyal Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Ahh yes, Sven is also deluded. I forgot you fans on this board always think you know more than our world class manager.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Bougherra, Westwood or Schmeichel, Lee Bowyer, Jimmy Kebe, would also love Luke Chambers for Forest but doubt it would happen!
ScouseFox Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Ahh yes, Sven is also deluded. I forgot you fans on this board always think you know more than our world class manager. If, at any stage, Sven has said "Richie Wellens never loses the ball", then yes, I know more than him.
Aidy3 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 I believe Wellens was out player of the season. did you see him in both games against Man City, made Milner look like a prat. Yes, Yuki is a ball winner, however i dont think he is someone who can drive the team on, someone like Roy Keane, and as already stated, Cattermole. obviously a championship version though.

Yuki is not a ball winner, nor is Oakley, and Wellens, and King are definitely not ball winners either. Did anyone see the Watford match - the second half was absolutely brilliant the way Sven used Wellens!
