MiniFox Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Because 31 is still a great age for a keeper, usually 5/6 years left in them at this age. Fair enough but I would still prefer westwood or shcmeichel
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Stokes would be awful - absolute garbage at Sunderland Ah right yeah, he wasn't great somewhere a few years back now. Not like players can develop or anything though, eh.
MGLCFC Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 I'm not saying players can't develop, but there are a couple of points here Here has hardly set the world alight in Scotland - the top league in Europe How many other English clubs are trying to buy him? I think with our resources we can do much better than Stokes. All I see here is a player whose career is regressing, not progessing.
hbkkids Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Isn't he in hospital?! he was but he has been released now, he had a seizure
hbkkids Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 Stokes would be awful - absolute garbage at Sunderland Gradel will not come back - he is no better than Dyer How many times have you see the Aberdeen keeper, Langfield, is it, play? If he is that good, he'd have been snapped up pretty much sooner. Hume is not the Gerrard of the Championship, infact he isn't the Gerrard of League 1. Looked half decent in a shocking team, both here and Preston. Lurch can win headers - blimey at nearly 7 foot so could I. Zigic is average at best - wouldn't offer much at Leicester. These are only my opinions and you are more than entitled to your own! stokes would be great in the championship gradel is much better than dyer and can score lots of goals langfield is an amazing keeper, much better than weale in my opinion hume is passionate and never gives up, we need a player like that at leicester and he can score a few zidgic is amazing in the air and has played well for birmingham this season.
hbkkids Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 if i could pick my starting 11, this is what it would be. Langfield Naughton - Bougherra - Bamba - Berner Gallagher - Bullard - King - Gradel Hooper - Waghorn Subs Weale Hume Vassel Hobbs Goodwillie
BlooArmeh! Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 if i could pick my starting 11, this is what it would be. Langfield Naughton - Bougherra - Bamba - Berner Gallagher - Bullard - King - Gradel Hooper - Waghorn Subs Weale Hume Vassel Hobbs Goodwillie Goodwillie has been amazing this season, they're are looking to sell aren't they? But should probably start ahead of Wagorn.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 He has hardly set the world alight in Scotland I'm sure a shitload of Celtic and Hibs fans would laugh at this, he's been nothing short of lethal up there. *And yes, I have seen him play. Plenty of times.
LCFCmatt Posted 4 June 2011 Posted 4 June 2011 if i could pick my starting 11, this is what it would be. Langfield Naughton - Bougherra - Bamba - Berner Gallagher - Bullard - King - Gradel Hooper - Waghorn Subs Weale Hume Vassel Hobbs Goodwillie We are allowed 7 subs now, you know...
hbkkids Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 Goodwillie has been amazing this season, they're are looking to sell aren't they? But should probably start ahead of Wagorn. i know he has, would be a great signing if we get him, doubt it though.
MGLCFC Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 But Celtic and Hibs would struggle in the Championship - So Stokes isn't that great - Bamba isn't that great, infact anything North of the border isn't that great. Get a grip, how many players from Scotland have been big hits at Leicester - probably less than 5%

Get a grip, how many players from Scotland have been big hits at Leicester - probably less than 5% Hibs would struggle in the championship most likely but I doubt celtic would struggle but I do agree stokes wouldn't do that well in the championship
dobbylcfc Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 Wouldn't mind Steven warnock from villa reckon he could do a job for us next season also richard dunne's a good shout as well
JayT - Always A Fox! Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 I dont know about anyone else, but out of all the links LCFC are having at the moment in reguards to goalkeepers, for me would have to be Shay Given. However, personally i doubt very much he's going to sign for us but for me, I would have a cheeky look at Marcus Hahnemann who has recently been realised by Wolves. What does everyone else think of this?

Personally i would have westwood! good keeper and only 25/26 and is free. cant see us getting given because wages will be too high, man city will want abit of money for him knowing them and also celtic are after given
MGLCFC Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 I may have been a bit OTT with the Celtic comment, but when you look at their team, quite a few are ex Championship players

JayT - Always A Fox! Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 Not a bad shout, I was thinking this the other day when I saw he'd been released .. Welcome by the way Yeh not a bad shout with Westwood either. He looks a top goalkeeper for this level considering his age. Thanks 4 the welcome's!
Narborough_fox Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 My primary option would be Narborough_fox Nah, would love Given or Westwood however Hannaman on a bosman isn't a bad option at all.
JayT - Always A Fox! Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 Ive always been a fan of Akos Busasky and David Norris back from Plymouth days. Think having them two back in midfield would be awsum. Norris looks as though he's ready to leave Ipswitch and Busasky doesnt get in the QPR team as much now, especially with them being in the prem with their money now. However i dont think I could drop King or Wellens.
Cat Burger Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 Wouldn't mind Steven warnock from villa reckon he could do a job for us next season also richard dunne's a good shout as well Thought he was too big for Villa, that's why he got frozen out. Plus he's about as fast as Bruno. Other than that, good player.

80footgiraffe Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 Top 7 Signings (No Order) 1. Nicky Maynard 2. Jimmy Kebe 3. Keiren Westwood 4. Billy Sharp 5. Bougherra 6. Kyle Naughton 7. Yakubu
