Adster Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 My top six signings in order of priority would be: 1. Naughton - bags of potential, worth splashing the cash out. 2. Westwood - or just a decent no. 1 keeper. 3. Bougherra - experienced centre back. 4. Maynard - or a 20 goal a season striker, muchly needed. 5. Heskey - good figured to have at the club. 6. Possibly another striker or decent midfield back up.

We definitely need another striker because we certainly haven't got a 20 goal a season striker at the club at the moment. The problem (and it's a nice one) is that now the club have Sven as the manager and we have owners who seem prepared to invest in the squad we get linked with everyone and you don't really know what the f*** is going on!
J1M8027 Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 here are some other players that I think we should have DANY WARD- reached the league 1 playoff final 2 years running, great player, very young, and is a reserve team player at bolton so he will be cheap(-er) VICTOR MOSES- I just love this guy ALEX SMITHIES will be awesome in the future between the sticks and plays for huddersfield (not too expensive) if not I like JASON STEELE I absolutely love the idea of JACK COLLISON partnering our very own andy king in centre midfield. We need to replace oakley and wellens SIMON COX proved he was a great player at swindon leading them to a playoff final and proved himself this year in the prem, worth a try, no? with liverpool looking for a wide defender, lets take the opportunity to at least loan MARTIN KELLY JAMIE O'HARA? WE SHOULD NOT GET YAKUBU.... hes a lazy sod. Fair enough he seems to be in the right place at the right time and that is a skill in itself but let's use the money with somebody that can do the job properly. feel free to brutally opinionate this post, but DANNY WARD must come!!!
lc4lcfc Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 Stephen Warnock's looking to leave aston villa. what do you guys think? surely worth a punt as left back is a problem area for us

Surely your taking the piss? Get rid of Wellens for one? And secondly, all Yakubu does is get himself in the right place at the right time, but he doesn't do his job properly? He is a striker, who will get us 20 goals a year. We will be paying three million + for someone else, teams don't let their best strikers go for nothing. Sometimes I wonder if its actually possible for people to be this brain dead.

David Guiza Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 Seen Torsten Frings was out of contract when mentioned in the Bougherra thread. Would love him here, even at 34, I think he'd add a lot to the team/squad.
Austin Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 Swansea just had bid accepted for Danny graham .. Maybe we could look at Dobbie from Swans? Always looked a handful when i've seen him .. Tidy player.
Ric Flair Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 Seen Torsten Frings was out of contract when mentioned in the Bougherra thread. Would love him here, even at 34, I think he'd add a lot to the team/squad. Yes! I mentioned Frings the other week. I'm sure I read somewhere that he wanted to move to England too. Would single handidly sort out our lack of consistency in the middle of the park.
jonw88 Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 I really hope we sign Reo Coker. Has Shaun Newton written all over it
Nick Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 I really hope we sign Reo Coker. His contract expired on 27th May and is currently clubless ........... Get it done Sven.
Ozwin Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 Nah, he'd be quality for us. Workhorse, captain material, doesn't take any shit. Plus I assume he doesn't live too far away so it'd be ideal. If that knowitall post in the other topic was anything to go by I reckon he'd one of the frees he mentioned.
i luv u foxes Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 westwood naughton van anholt loan konchesky yakubu kamara burke le fondre eagles off the top off my minde
Danno Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 westwood naughton van anholt loan konchesky yakubu kamara burke le fondre eagles off the top off my minde And we won't get any of them
sphericalfox Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Alan Smith has been released by Newcastle. Worked with Sven, and could be the battling (yet obviously a liability) midfielder that we have been looking for?
ollie b Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Check this lad out - jesus fernandez or suso as they call him [media]http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL3HfYN1jD4[/media the boy is only 16! and he defiantly has a look of Gerrard /Fàbregas would suit us down to a tee.

I thought he was very highly rated at Liverpool
sphericalfox Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 I thought he was very highly rated at Liverpool Only on Football Manager 2011
Haydos Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Only on Football Manager 2011 Sure I've heard his name before Looks tidy on that vid though, they'll have a good player on their hands in a few years.
Fox2323 Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Alan smith has been told he can leave for free good championship player and is versatile
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 7 June 2011 Posted 7 June 2011 Alan Smith been released by Newcastle today. Massively dogged by injuries but if fully match fit he's a 'horrible' midfielder....
