Cardiff or Swansea in the Premier League

Don't T.N.S play in the qualification rounds of the CL? <_<

Yes.

.. .are you implying they shouldn't?

(They're actually English, by the way.)

England and Scotland were invading each other for centuries, however, as you must know, the act of union was not forced upon Scotland at all, so you have got nothing to complain about .

I wasn't talking about scotland, just suggesting why wales might not respect GOSTQ.

Anyway given the SNP won power last week we might not be discussing the union and scotland for much longer.

The issue about them being Welsh doesn't come into it in the slightest for me. I can't stand Cardiff because they're a club with appalling ownership, many vile players, and a slightly larger than usual contingent of twattish fans. Their success has come partly through dodgy dealings and endless let-offs on the part of the authorities.

Swansea on the other hand seem to be well run, with lots of young exciting talent on the pitch who have achieved their successes through pure merit (not stretching / breaking every single rule in the book ala Cardiff).

So it's a no-brainer really...

Agree 100%.

I think you are mistaking the attitude of the voters of Scotland toward Holyrood politics for the attitude of the voters of Scotland towards independence. Even the SNP isn't shouting about independence any more. An independence vote would lose, and lose heavily, it it were to be conducted.

I have no axe to grind either way - I am an Englishman living in Scotland (so I am a voter for Holyrood elections and would get to vote in an independence referendum) and if Scotland goes for independence, great, I'm going nowhere, but from what I hear and see and understand, it just aint gonna happen.

I doubt it will actually happen. The SNP have called for a referendum on Independence but that will almost certainly end in the vote going to remain in the union.

I don't actually believe a Scottish majority would vote for independence even if voting with their hearts was the only issue.

But most people vote with their wallets and Scotland would be crippled without Britain, nobody's stupid enough to vote for that. They might have been VAGUELY tempted before the collapse of the Celtic Tiger but definitely not now that illusion's been devastated.

You are wrong mate.

The FA did give Cardiff the green light to represent the English FA in the UEFA cup, but Cardiff snubbed that in favour of a potential 'Wild Card' from UEFA.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-561830/Cardiff-qualify-Europe-beat-Portsmouth-FA-Cup-final.html

As both Cardiff and Swansea are knocking on the door of the Premier League this situation needs clearing up before we end up in another potential problematic situation.

I read recently that Cardiff are also looking at dropping out of the FA cup in favour of the Welsh cup as an easy back door to European football.

I dont like the whole way this situation is handled, and personally I would rather see them both in the league of Wales.

Yes I went fishing a bit for a 'touchy taff' and low and behold one came along just in time!!

I suppose the other option would be a British league with a British FA. That would of course mean a Britain National team, and given the current fashion for Nationalism amongst the home nations you'll have more chance of getting a whale up your arse.

lol lol lol lol

I love how you post an article to try and prove your point, but clearly didn't read it and it does, in fact, disprove your point lol Superb effort. Keep up the good work.

Football Association breaks Welsh jurisdiction over Cardiff and Swansea

• English governing body to regulate two Welsh clubs

• Move from next season breaks a century of tradition

Welsh clubs will break with more than a century of football tradition from next season and submit to cross-border regulation by the Football Association. Cardiff City and Swansea City have historically been dealt with by the FA of Wales, which has different regulations and disciplinary processes to its English counterpart. This is despite both clubs playing in English competitions.

A spokesman for the FAW told Digger: "All matters where the penalty can include sporting sanctions will be dealt with by the [English] FA, including doping and off-the-field issues." How this will take shape is currently the subject of ongoing discussion but Digger hears from another source that one possible outcome is for a representative of the FAW to sit in on any FA disciplinary panel involving a Welsh club.

The news of reform emerges after Digger exposed the FA's inability to sanction Cardiff City under third-party rules even if it is proved that the chairman of another football club has held a material influence over their transfer affairs. The Football League is currently investigating an arrangement Cardiff hold with an offshore entity, Player Finance Fund, that may be connected to the former Coventry City chairman, Ray Ranson. Cardiff deny the arrangement constituted third-party influence.

Cardiff could be in trouble and we won't be hearing the 'why are they playing in England' crap so much next season. Good news all round.
