Narborough_fox Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 Scott Sinlcair is incredible on this game. Last 2 online games I've scored 8 goals, Scott has got all 8. What a man.
Christoph Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 Interesting, I could do with that once I get into a winning position. I throw 3-0s and 2-0s away far too often, it's embarrassing. What teams work well with that formation? Man city work best for me. You have the back five of clichy, toure, lescott, kompany and richards, then you have toure, nasri/barry then silva infront then augero and teves up top.

DB11 Posted 15 December 2011 Posted 15 December 2011 That 5-2-1-2 was fooking woeful for me. I'm on a 9 game loss streak. Relegated from division three to four, and still having that losing mentality. Leicester are shit when you get higher up. And EA, Leicester vs Scotland is not an even match up FFS!
Christoph Posted 15 December 2011 Posted 15 December 2011 Good thing about the 5-2-1-2 i've found is that it leaves your midfielders and strikers to roam. You have to make them work harder, and make them run places, especially out wide, but fifa players always have loads of stamina so its not that much of a big deal, especially if you use subs at 65+ minutes. I find it better than having wingers, as scoring from crosses can be quite tricky on this game, unless the player is proper crap, i've had more results scoring outside the box.

Well it doesn't work with Leicester. I used to use 4-1-2-1-2 and had troubles scoring, with conceding not much better. I thought I'd try out the 5-2-1-2 and use a counter attacking mentality, nope I'm just under the cosh for the entire game and the opposition will invariably score sooner or later. Often chip through balls. And I have no outlet to play with the ball and attack.

I find Ribery a bit disappointing. Robben is phenomenal on it. And can't believe you'd leave Muller out!

Often chip through balls. And I have no outlet to play with the ball and attack. I tried it with leicester and it worked fine, sometimes 5-3-2 works as well. You just have to prepare to run your players everywhere and also bring the second man in a lot more, it requires a bit more finger dexterity with a dodgy crab hand sometimes, but its been working wonders for me. I've just got in league 5, so if your higher in the league it might just be because people are generally better and your not as good as them perhaps. I've always been good in possession, but this fifa tends to punish you far more on the counter attack, so using 5-3-2 has worked fine as i keep the five quite deep while using the other five quite forward, then if theres a gap in the midfield, i usually drag one of the centre backs out to push a driving player in the middle to the side where my wing backs and other cb can double team them.

It was only to work with that defensive formation, i'd always leave Muller out over Ribery, Robben and Gomez in that formation. I usually play with Bayern too, Robben and Ribery on the break are unstoppable. I tend to play with their default formation, but take Badstuber off for Tymoschuk, put him at CDM and put Gustavo in at CB.

I tend to find Tymoschuk a bit sluggish, though.
Finchy Posted 19 December 2011 Posted 19 December 2011 Things annoying me on Fifa at the moment... - People who play as Real Madrid in the red kit (most people it seems) and they all seem to be twats. - People who play as Barcelona and think they have to play like the real Barcelona and pass it about at the back for ridiculous amounts of time. - People who quit straight away because i'm playing as a country and they are a club. - People who watch their replay over and over again for awful goals. - The EA servers. - Scummy people from Birmingham/Liverpool who always seems to have bad internet connections. - Division 3. Im sure there is more.
DB11 Posted 20 December 2011 Posted 20 December 2011 - Division 3. Im sure there is more. This. Why's it that I piss Division 4 but get relegated from 3? Such a yo-yo club!! I'll have to wait for the better players from Div 3 to get promoted, and so play people who I was playing in Div 4!
morris1234 Posted 20 December 2011 Posted 20 December 2011 2nd season in the premiership with charlton, back to back promotions and an FA cup win saw me finish 8th in the premiership after winning league 1 and runner up in the championship! owain-fon williams 70 piotr celeban 71 thomas myhase 76 sam saunders 76 thiago feltri 71 edgar barretto 78* younes sankhare 76 adam hammill 74 peter whittingham 73 valdet rama 73 jay rodriguez 75 subs: alex harris (gk) (youth) 18yo-61 manuel navarro (RW) (youth) 17yo- 69 darko jelic (cm) (youth) 17yo -74 jimmy kebe 73 haris seferovic 73 xavier pentecote 76 thomas moretti 72

Yes - People who play as Barcelona and think they have to play like the real Barcelona and pass it about at the back for ridiculous amounts of time. Yes but, in my experience, the people who play as Barcelona are 9-year-old kids who just give the ball to Messi and try and run it past everybody - People who quit straight away because i'm playing as a country and they are a club. - People who watch their replay over and over again for awful goals. And I'd like to add to this people who think it's cool to play as Anzhi Makhachkala - which it's not.
sdb Posted 20 December 2011 Posted 20 December 2011 I might get absolutely ripped for asking this, but how do you do all/any of the silky skills on this game? I've only played with Leicester but whatever buttons/combo i press nothing happens! Opposition players have done a few tricks so i'm assuming it's not a top player/club thing only. I've looked at tutorials online but they don't work at all...any help?! x

I've looked at tutorials online but they don't work at all...any help?! x Start off by pressing in LT then you need to move right stick around. Go to Youtube type in FIFa 12 Skill Moves look for the one by Marius Hjerpseth(QUALITY) and learn from there I wouldn't go mad at the start though just learn a few moves such as the zidane 360 or Ronaldo chop

I've looked at tutorials online but they don't work at all...any help?! x It all depends on the skill move rating of the player you are using skill moves with. 4 and 5 star are the more advanced skills where as 1,2 and 3 star skill moves are more basic

sdb Posted 20 December 2011 Posted 20 December 2011 Thanks folks! Assuming LT is what used to be L2 when I was cool and had a PS2? Cheers! xxx
Ashley Posted 20 December 2011 Posted 20 December 2011 FIFA acutally cheats. Playing against the computer is harder than playing online. I don't know how the computer manages to keep the ball as well as they do, then when I bring another man to help pressure the opponent the opponent runs towards there goal does the 'X' pass(xbox) and it goes directly to a team mates feet.

Im pretty sure your right there you know. I have the same problem, playing on professional and just cannot string wins together, On career mode the players performances are radiculously based on their form and moral. It just seems impossible to keep everyone happy at leicester. I finished 13th last season, only kept my job because I got to the FA cup final. It is so so hard. Just started a new season though and my new signings (which are all from lower leagues rather than prem) are playing awesome. oh wait hang on a minute this is all sounding far to real.
Finchy Posted 21 December 2011 Posted 21 December 2011 Finally got out of Division 3! Unsurprisingly i'm getting absolutely destroyed in Division 2, i've only scored 3 times in a 5 games, and one of those was before 5 minutes so they quit.
Finchy Posted 21 December 2011 Posted 21 December 2011 Leicester City.. who are they? Oh a Liverpool fan playing as Leicester? They all secretly love our Paul Konchesky, that's why.
