heatherfox Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 Whilst not wishing to condone such violence, how many of 'those' punches could you take? Speaking personally I think I would have been down after the first one!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 I'll admit. Them punches were beast, especially that last one. Made Ashton cry didn't it? I'd be in a mortuary if he'd landed one of them one me.
zubi Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 LIKE A BOSS!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbZLHYXeK24 Whilst not wishing to condone such violence, how many of 'those' punches could you take? Speaking personally I think I would have been down after the first one! In all honesty, I dont think even chuck norris could take those!
Bert Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 I'd have been KO'd. I think with Ashton uses to being able to take big hits, helped him. Tuilagi is only 20 too.
Danno Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 SHIT!! if you pause it a second after the punch comes in it looks like his heads gonna fall off
RowlattsFox Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 The smallest Tuilagi as well, can only imagine what Alessana could do if he threw a couple
acooling08 Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 Never been hit in the face. Doubtless to say I'd be floored by the first hit.
zubi Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 I'd of got up and socked him in the mouth. You'd have to pick up your head and find a way to surgically attach it back to your shoulders before you attempt such bravery
Kent Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 Manu is a big unit to be fair, he went to the same school as me although he was a couple of years above me, he was massive even when he was about 17/18.
acooling08 Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 And they say there are no thugs in rugby. I reckon what everyone likes about this is the opposition player didn't roll around on the floor even though he had very good reason too! It makes me a bit embarrassed when seeing footballers doing so from a slap or shove to the face. + 1 if you'd like to see Earnshaw on the end of them punches

Still no reason for anyone to lash out like that.
Haydos Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 And they say there are no thugs in rugby. Fair point but did you watch after the final whistle? They were went over, shook hands and hugged. That's why I ****ing loved playing rugby (not the hugging ), it's such a mans sport to play.
Joe. Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 He's a nice lad in real life as well - very quiet - met him a few times at barbecues through family connections. But those punches were unreal, the slow motion replays are vile. I just hope it doesn't damage his chances of a World Cup spot, that Saxons Churchill Cup next month could be a superb opportunity for him to show what he can do.

That's why I ****ing loved playing rugby (not the hugging ), it's such a mans sport to play. It's a thugs sport. Might make you a hard man to take those punches and accepting the apology but giving them out is just not on. I'm fed up of Rugby players getting positive press for such disgraceful behaviour, it happens time and time again and people just go 'I wish footballers were hard and had proper fights like that instead of being pussies and rolling around'. We all hate pussies diving around in football but that doesn't mean smashing someone in the face just because he pushed you in the back of the head a bit makes you a big man, apology or not. There's no place for losing your temper like that. Problem is Rugby fans tend to think that it's ok and part of the sport. Much like diving is accepted now because a lot of people think it's OK. I'm not being funny but he's lucky the last one hit him on the side of his forehead, a bit further back and it could have been very serious.

He should get hit with a ban and a fine because it was unacceptable behaviour. I was more making light of everyone does it and everyone takes it. (Not as outrageously as the Ashton incident, like I said, that should be punished) but generally the aggression is part and parcel and from personal experience, I completely enjoyed that side of it.
Soar Fox Posted 18 May 2011 Posted 18 May 2011 Whilst not wishing to condone such violence, how many of 'those' punches could you take? Speaking personally I think I would have been down after the first one! Me and 3 friends had a bit of a fight with andy & alessana outside o4 in 2007 ended with me having a broken nose and my friend out for the count.
OzFox Posted 18 May 2011 Posted 18 May 2011 Makes you wonder when you see something like that, why footballers spend 5 minutes on the floor after the slightest touch. Most of the AFL loving, rugger-bugger Aussies that I work with hate football for that very reason. Can't say I blame them really.
