Nick Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Leicester want to sign Nottingham Forest striker Robert Earnshaw and Birmingham forward Kevin Phillips. Discuss.
Kingylcfc Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 well if its in the star, its probably not true about Phillips i wouldn't mind Earnshaw thou
Haydos Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Would quite like to see Phillips here for a year if wages are reasonable. Can't see him expecting another season in the Prem + High wages at 37.
Nick Posted 25 May 2011 Author Posted 25 May 2011 well if its in the star, its probably not true about Phillips i wouldn't mind Earnshaw thou Flipped a coin between a 'KP' thread and the 'Comedy Rumours Thread' - I had considered the possibility that the Daily Star may not be on the pulse of LCFC transfer jugular.

No chance he'll be in the Premier League next season. Would love him here though, even if it is for half an hour every game, he knows exactly where the net is. Oh and i'd like to know the last transfer window that we weren't linked to him somewhere!
MikeyT Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Would take Phillips not Earnshaw Other way around for me.
Leceister City! Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Yeah Earnshaw would be a great signing, not sure if I can see Forest selling him to us though, I would much prefer Graham. Not sure how much Phillips would add, seeing as he is already 37, he hasn't played that much at Birmingham this year either so I would give that one a miss..

I think Earnshaw is out of contract, Graham would undoubtedly cost £3m or £4m. I do agree about Phillips though, he is ancient.
RedHux Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Earnie's out of contract. There's talk of talks going on but, nobody really knows what's going on.
yorkie1999 Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Kevin phillips would make a great signing because he may be getting on a bit but hes a clever player who knows how to be in the right place at the right time, a bit like teddy sherringham, he knows how to play in the championship and knows where the back of the net is. If we could get just one good season out of him he'd get us up!
Clazie Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 If we were losing a game by a goal, with 15 minutes to go, there is no other player I'd rather bring on than Kevin Philips. 'Cept maybe Pele.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Kevin Phillips is most likely past it now. Earnshaw would be a good freebie to throw on in the closing minutes, he still has talent. Just so long as he leaves that god-awful celebration at the City Ground, knowing our luck he'd pull his back out doing it.
artursteppe Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Phillips although well into his thirties has always been underrated, by contrast Earnshaw has always been overrated. Phillips can score goals, but more than that he is a real quality footballer, great vision and brings other players into the game. I'd have him. Earnshaw chases footballs, and probably chases balloons as well.

Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Philips yes please. QPR bid for Graham last week & were turned down. Pretty sure they'll be back so wouldn't count him as a prospect for us ;-)
Nick Posted 25 May 2011 Author Posted 25 May 2011 Hate the cvnt Earnshaw. Due to Captain Wales next game - will be 53rd Cap.
topharry123 Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 I'd like to see him on a short term contract. He is definitely the kind of player we could bring on with a few minutes to go. Probably hasn't the legs now for a big part, but definietely a good sub.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 If the Thais are ambitious neither of these two are suitable.
topharry123 Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 If the Thais are ambitious neither of these two are suitable. There's being ambitious and there's being realistic. There are not many better forwards about than Earnshaw and Phillips that would be willing to drop down a level. It's allvery well having the ambition to do what they say they will, but realistically these are the kind of players we need to and will sign until we are out of the championship. Once we are, then we can really expect some of these big name signings to actually sign for us if the owners are as ambitious as they say the are.
gazfox9 Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Neither of them for me too. Ones sat on the bench all season for a side who have just been relegated, and the other has been on the bench most of the season for a side who we have far greater ambition than. Think we need to aim higher than these two if were serious about doing anything next season.
Stevosevic Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 QPR strikeforce: Helguson Mackie Agyemang Hulse Miller (loan) I bet their fans were saying the same about those signings, apart from Miller, look where they are now.
