Alex Black Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Kevin Philips is a bit too old now, we want experience but they need to be under 30 I think. Owen would be an exception from a marketing perspective, but also he could be a great influence to the young lads at the club. Earnshaw, yes he's 30 but what an impact he made for Forrest in that last game against Swansea! If Lee Camp hadn't of strayed so far from his line, I think Earnshaw was putting that game into extra time. Another super sub?
Stevosevic Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Yeah and look where Forest are as well Poor point, but they are above us.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 I'd take Earnshaw, jus tfor the fact he wont be able to score against us, yet again.
ACF Posted 26 May 2011 Posted 26 May 2011 Due to Captain Wales next game - will be 53rd Cap. I'm not saying he's crap, infact he's a top player! I just absolutely hate him!
Babylon Posted 26 May 2011 Posted 26 May 2011 We need a squad not just 11 amazing starters. As part of a squad Phillips for a year could be a very good signing.
body102 Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 We need a squad not just 11 amazing starters. As part of a squad Phillips for a year could be a very good signing. I totally agree and he has just been released by Birmingham
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 Talking of players Brum have released, I'd take Lee Bowyer right now. Dont like him much at all, but he is the sort of player everyone seems to think we need in the team, a bit of a hard man winning the ball all the time. Probably want a fair wage though.

LCFC2007 Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 tbh i would take both kevin phillips and rob earnshaw. both know where he net is and that is something we need to get us out of the championship.
rizlmakda Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 I'd take either, let's be realistic here we won't be able to attract top strikers and these 2 have many years experience scoring in the championship Put your trust in Sven

We're much more likely to get players like Phillips!
Donut Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 Phillips on a one year contract as a backup option/squad player wouldnt be a bad shout IMO
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 Poor point, but they are above us. You mean they were above us
lcfc_jme Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 I'd rather we didn't sign him, to be honest. He's hardly someone we'd be bringing in that could benefit the squad for years to come. That's not to say I think we should be bringing in solely young players who can hang around for years on end and be completely shit, but I don't think bringing in someone closer to 40 than 30 makes much - if any - sense.
Tuna Posted 28 May 2011 Posted 28 May 2011 Kevin Phillips is a Micky Adams style signing, we don't want any more dad's army players.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 28 May 2011 Posted 28 May 2011 I find it unbelievable that people wouldn't want a guy like Philips. Proven goal scorer in the mould of a Tony Cottee, who wouldn't cost loads in fees or wages. His goals would help us out of this league whether from the bench or as a starter, for me it's a no brainer. He's not a one season wonder or a kid who has sprung to the fore in a lower league who is yet to be tested. He's been there and done it consistently at all levels, which shows his attitude is excellent. He seems to remain fit and doesn't seem to have injury problems. Sign him up please Sven.
Guest shearfox Posted 28 May 2011 Posted 28 May 2011 If you want to get into the prem, having a player like Phillips is ideal he will always get you goals and wouldn't cost a lot in wages.

You literally cannot believe that people wouldn't want Kevin Phillips? That's what you're saying. You cannot believe that anyone wouldn't want a 37 year old striker who has scored 1 league goal for Birmingham this season. Right.
Victory is mine Posted 28 May 2011 Posted 28 May 2011 phillips hes a bit old Don't matter. He is a older matty fryatt IMO
stu Posted 28 May 2011 Posted 28 May 2011 He knows were the net is FACT Yes but we all know where it is, it's in Gerard Pique's kit bag...
