England u21 v Ukraine u21

"Under 21" evidently refers to how many minutes of this England side's football are required to put you into a coma.

:D

To be fair to Pearce, at least he is preparing them well to handle the inevitable future failings they will experience if and when they make the full England side.

It maybe 1-0 but there are serious problems with that team. They've had the ball in dangerous areas umpteen times with 60 yard passes going back to the keeper on most occasions. Muamba seems to be the biggest culprit. They'll probably go all out attack now they need to protect the lead!

Oh well, just not good enough at the end. At least I won't have to watch anymore of the crap.

Disgraceful. Lets be honest here, Ukraine and the Czech Republic were two teams who were average at best. This tournament was a complete disaster from the English perspective when you consider our performances in the last two tournaments against much stronger opposition.

Time for Pearce to move on.

I too think Pearce should shoulder a large portion of the blame. Tonights display was by far the best of the three games, it was also the only game in which he picked his best side (ie Sinclair, Cleverley and Muamba). Having said that at one nil after 89 1/2 minutes they should be good enough to see it through.

Our under 21`s are full of people who can run fast but have no footballing brain...

Im glad we lost... it was so painful to watch them do fook all...

Though i'd never wish my own country or club to get beaten, our performances were not exactly of a calibre that really deserved to progress. Though in my opinion Pearce's criminal tactics against an awful Ukrainian side was the biggest culprit. We totally outclassed the Czech's yesterday who hardly had an attack worthy of the name until they got a lucky break in the 89th minute. The winning goal was largely irrelevant as we push everyone forwards.

Can't help but feel the the injury to Gibbs and the withdrawal of Wilshere and Carroll which somehow sent a message that they were above this level of tournament, really gave the whole squad a "who gives a ****?" mentality. I think that truly cost us in the end.

Also, i thought it was funny that despite Pearce's stumbling on the best line-up and formation, he saw fit to crush it after we went 1-0 up, and we know what happened next. Tactically inept im afraid.
