SOCCERROO FOX Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 Murray has the game but neither the bottle nor consistency. Hope Rafa wins on Sunday. That was the point i was making in the tennis thread but was getting shut down, the presure seems to get to him in the 2nd week of grand slams. If it was a non grand slam tournament he probably would of won from the situation he was in. Backed Sharapova at the start of the tourny so rooting for her, just broke back (she needed to)
Narborough_fox Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 I'm glad he lost, he is Scottish, we would of never of heard the last from the scots had he had won Just like we've never heard the end of the English winning the World Cup 45 years ago?
Matt Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 See ya Murray. Miserable ****er, back to being Scottish as opposed to British, until next year when he's hyped up again and will fail at the Semi's again. (I know i'm late, but was out last night and not been on here since)

Guest Mee-9 Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 Good womens final. Kvitova deserved it, great prospect for the future.
Matt Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 MYTH. AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH Two articles from the same website. 1st one, Andy Murray wins quarter-final game against Tsonga Andy Murray the British hope for men’s tennis has won his quarter-final match against France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in a sun soaked cetre court at Wimbledon. This will be the second time that the 23 year old Murray has reached the Wimbledon semi-finals having made it there last year only to be beaten by Andy Roddick. Today’s thrilling match saw Murray in a tough battle with Tsonga and after losing the first set it looked as though he was also going to lose the second set too as it had reached the tie-break stage with Tsonga looking favourite to win however the French player made a poor judgement of play which Murray took full advantage of and went on to win the set. From that point on Murray never seemed to look back as he controlled the match and went on to win the next two sets too. The match result ended 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 6-2. Murray will now move onto Friday’s semi-final in which he will play Rafael Nadal who is presently ranked as the world’s number one. If Murray can win against Nadal in the match on Friday he will be the first British man to reach the Wimbledon final since the year of 1938 when Bunny Austin last had that honour. 2nd article, Andy Murray defeated again in Wimbledon semi-final The dreams of a place in the Wimbledon men’s final for Andy Murray, and the nation, came to an end yesterday when the 24 year-old Scot lost his semi-final match against the Majorcan Rafael Nadal.Murray had gotten off to a fine start to win the first set 7-5 after Nadal faltered in his normal superb quality of play and it looked like the Scot had taken the upper hand on the match with some stunning shots. The second set continued with Murray dominating the play and for a few minutes it seemed like Nadal was heading for a defeat however the worlds number one fought back strongly after Murray made a simple but devastatingly bad shot when the set stood at 2-1 and the Scot lost his chance to break the Spaniards service. The mistake marked the turning point of the match and after this Murray just could not seem to play to the level of quality tennis he had previously shown. Nadal relentlessly took hold of the match and simply outplayed Murray for the rest of the four set semi-final with the Scot only offering occasional glimpses of any quality stroke play. The match ended 5-7 6-2 6-2 6-4 and was the third consecutive Wimbledon semi-final that Murray has lost. In a statement after the game Murray said “I was playing very high-risk tennis for most of the match. Maybe I got the balance wrong”. Nadal will now go on to play in Sunday’s Wimbledon men’s final against Novak Djokovic. Coincidence? The first search I did to compare two articles from the same website that this 'Myth' appeared to be fact?

The first search I did to compare two articles from the same website that this 'Myth' appeared to be fact? Well, for starters, it is from 2 different years. So, yes, I'd say it's a coincidence.
Matt Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 Well, for starters, it is from 2 different years. So, yes, I'd say it's a coincidence. Haha really? Shows how much interest I have in Tennis, but the fact still remains when he's winning he's British when he loses he loses the Brit tag and its replaced with Scot. Not his fault and i'm not for one second saying it is, it's the press, same as hyping up anything English/British only for it to fail.

Matt Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 You normally will anyone British to lose anyway don't you Purpleronnie, slag them off anyway.
purpleronnie Posted 2 July 2011 Posted 2 July 2011 You normally will anyone British to lose anyway don't you Purpleronnie, slag them off anyway. Theres another myth. Obviously. You're having a mare, I'd leave it.
Salieri Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 I've gone for Nadal 3-1. Come on Rafa! I had Klitschko to win on points in a double with Nadal to win 3-2.
