Leicester Lass Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 City's New Year trip to Crystal Palace has been brought forward to a 1.00pm kick-off. The fixture at Selhurst Park on Monday January 2, 2012 has been brought forward from its original 3.00pm slot, following consultation with Metropolitan Police. The trip to south London will be City's first game of 2012 and follows the home double-header against Ipswich Town and Portsmouth after Christmas. City were beaten 3-2 in the corresponding fixture against Palace on the opening day of the 2010/11 season, but will be hoping for more on what will be their second visit to the capital in 2011/12, following the trip to West Ham United in October. http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2381434,00.html

Guest Mee-9 Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Did anything kick off last year? We might get in abit earlier now. Probably 1am. Last year was hilarious.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Hoping it was on TV but apparantly not. Cant see why there would be trouble, not like its Millwall Palacce are playing.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 West Ham, Fulham (playing Arsenal), Tottenham, QPR and Charlton (playing Brentford) are all at home on that day as well, I assume it's for that reason. West Ham are playing Coventry too, so that adds more reason, what with trains and travel and what not etc.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 FOR FVCK SAKE. Utter cvnts. overreaction much? It's been bought forward to 1pm, not 1am, jesus two hours isn't going to disrupt your entire days plans six months in advance is it?
Guest Bilo Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Get in at about 9ish for the obligatory Spoons breakfast in Leicester Square, make your way to Thornton Heath a bit later and then stroll up to Selhurst lads. It doesn't ruin the day. Even on a Tuesday night this is a superb away day.
Dan Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 overreaction much? It's been bought forward to 1pm, not 1am, jesus two hours isn't going to disrupt your entire days plans six months in advance is it? Ruined. Far less pub time, earlier start. Pissed off. And for what, trouble at a fixture there's never even trouble at? Joke.

Where does it mention trouble? There are SIX London clubs at home that day, involving EIGHT London based teams, as well as Coventry fans also heading to London for West Ham. The Met are never going to be able to cope with all six matches kicking off at the same time, with that many fans using London transport at the same time. Calling the Met police c*nts just because they're trying to stop London's transport system coming to a stanstill? Really?

Corky Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 You often see fixtures in London brought forward around that time of year.

It doesn't add up either that if there are six games, then they'd move one of the lower profile ones such as this? (Assuming the other sides are say Arsenal, Spurs etc...) Yes it was heat of the moment, I'm just pissed off as it effects me in a bad way. Besides, what major benefits will it bring them? If the Leicester fans are all leaving at full-time at say 3pm anyway, wouldn't there be others still going to the other games around that time? Just a thought.

I would think the chances of at least one of the other games being moved as well are pretty high.

Guest Bilo Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Affects you in a 'bad way'? Not getting completely smashed before a game isn't the end of world Akin to blasphemy. Just have a few on the train if the worst comes to the worst. It doesn't ruin the day.

That two hours earlier means I definitely won't be able to make it My three local games are West Ham, Palace and Millwall and I can only make the third one. Booooooooooooo.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 hmm abit annoyed about this only because I will have to get up early to get the bus
The Doctor Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Ruined. Far less pub time, earlier start. Pissed off. And for what, trouble at a fixture there's never even trouble at? Joke. It's new years day the day before. The only need for pub time is to extend the time for which you are pissed, 1pm still has reasonable drinking time.
leicesterisme Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 hmm abit annoyed about this only because I will have to get up early to get the bus Your going on the bus to Palace away? Get on the train!!
Guest Bilo Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Train for Palace away is essential. St. Pancras, London travelcard, job's a good un.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Your going on the bus to Palace away? Get on the train!! I always get the coalville supporters bus to away game. very cheap! only cost £10 to get to palace but afterwards didnt get back till 11pm last year
CosbehFox Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Better day with this kick off personally. Watch the game and still make a right day of it in the Smoke.
Fosse Boy Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Moaning about having less drinking time in London is pretty invalid. Just start earlier then plenty of time up Central after the game.
